We had a beautiful time in the cottage, which is comfy and has all, one needs. The extra pluses are the spectacular view acrossthe firth and the host Tim, who was very helpful, gentle and is an expertin dolphin spotting.
Stunning views overlooking the Moray Firth, the accommodation was extremely comfortable, well equipped and clean. Tim, our host, was there on arrival and at our departure to ensure our experience had been successful. Beautiful local walks and a twilight rainbow on our last night. Rather perfect! We will be back.
My husband and I had a wonderful holiday here and would recommend this place to anyone and everyone! We will be back again, and maybe bring our kids.

Why they chose this property
Hillockhead offers peace and tranquillity - whilst being close to the nearby villages of Rosemarkie and Fortrose with its range of shops, restaurants and bars. The vibrant city of Inverness is half an hour away. However the feature that almost all visitors comment upon are the views. Many of the windows and balconies offer superb views of the Moray Firth. From Lossiemouth in the east (25 miles) to Ben Nevis and the mountains of the west which are even further away - the views are stunning – particularly from the bench on the lower lawn. The famous Moray Firth Dolphins can often be seen, particularly in summer. Binoculars or a scope can offer superb views from the property and gardens as the dolphins feed around Chanonry Point. Or of course you can drive down to the point itself, though parking is limited particularly at peak times. The properties are surrounded by lawned areas, away from traffic great for recreation. relaxation and outdoor dining on the large benches. Many visitors spend hours sitting on the bench watching the sea. A path leads to the beach below Hillockhead a 25 minute walk. The nearest sandy beach is at Rosemarkie a 15 minute drive away. You can normally park on the front.
