We had a great stay at this lovely cottage! Close to the beach entrance was a plus. Having access to chairs, umbrellas and bikes was amazing. The upstairs loft was perfect for the kids! We will be back!
Sitting immediately adjacent to the beach, this charming beach cottage was the perfect place for our family vacation. First of all, we love Cape May Point. However in all the years we have rented at "The Point", this was the closest we ever were to the beach, which was wonderful because our family loves the beach and easy access to it was a great luxury for us. We had so much fun and returned home refreshed, relaxed and grateful for our stay at this pleasant property.
Our family getaway at this charming beachfront cottage was exactly what we needed. The beach is literally right outside the door, and the sand is as soft as silk.
The house itself is vintage--first built by a family ancestor and added to with each successive generation. It's clear that a lot of good memories were made here. Our host was very pleasant and responsive. All in all, this is a great setting for an informal family vacation with young children.
Thus historical property has charm and great location. The kitchen was wonderfully stocked with all the things a cook could use !! Sadly a previous tenant had not left either key in place but the owner was able to get someone to let me in less than an hour. For a person who prefers open windows in good weather, a few could use some attention. I had a great time!
We all enjoyed our stay at Cape May Point in this quaint beach front cottage. It had every thing we needed and we were comfortable for the week. The location could not be better and the owner was always available to answer any questions we had. The house might not be for everyone as it truly is a cottage but our group of 7 including teens and adults found it charming and homey. We all agreed that we would be happy to return there. The only suggestion I would offer is that it would be nice to have a light over the back door.
We had a great time. Literally steps from the beach and loved the simplicity of the house.
The host was friendly and accessible. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. Will definitely be returning next year.
Just my mother and I stayed for a week. I live in an early 1900' s house and felt very much at home in this house and could appreciate the craftmanship that the family has done to their home over the years. Steve the homeowner was excellent to work with couldn't have asked for him to be any nicer and to share his family's home and all the history that goes with Cape May Point We probably had the best week down the shore this summer water was warm and weather was perfect for late September! The house was perfectly nested on a quiet dead end street. Just walk out side door of house and a short walk over the dunes and there was paradise....the beach and water. The sunsets where beautiful!
We loved this place. So much history, had everything we needed, couldn't ask for a better location.
Explored so much in the town even though weather was yuck. The host was very friendly and helpful will definitely be back again for longer.
Thank you for sharing your hideaway with us!
We loved this house. There was plenty of room for our family of 8. We loved the history and story behind this classic home. Steps away from a beautiful beach, an outdoor shower awaits your return to wash away the sand. Can’t wait to return!
This is a beautiful rustic beach property. Steps to beautiful private beach!! Kids had had so much fun with the entire "attic" space being theirs. Gramma,Papa, Mom, Dad and 3 kids had an amazing week here!
We loved our stay here-perfect size for our family of 5…two adults and three young children. We prefer a more rustic beach experience and this fit the bill-a quaint and beachy cottage that has been in a family forever. All the needed things are there to cook, plus even some extras like a blender and coffee grinder. We loved how close it was to the dunes and barely had to even wear flip flops. Stephen was a great host as well. Oh, and best water pressure in an outdoor shower I’ve ever experienced! Also a claw foot tub inside! It’s the little things that make a place like this so special.
This charming home is very near in original condition from 1901 with a few perks... And fit for Family!!
The closeness to the beautiful beach was perfect as was the front porch with it's rocking chairs just waiting for ya..
Loved the location, just a few steps from the beach, closest we have ever stayed. The property is charming and reminiscent of the old original cottages/buildings at the point. It was comfy and clean with plenty of room for 6 adults and a six year old in our party. The interior would be described as rustic. The front screen porch was great for reading or enjoying an early morning cup of coffee. Unfortunately views of the beach or ocean were virtually nil from the rooftop deck due to all the foliage on the dunes, which I understand. Outside shower is a plus as well as the garage with chairs, umbrellas, toys available. My only suggestion is that the kitchen get some upgrading and maybe the baths as well. We did not eat out much so we were in the kitchen cooking meals. I give this place a definite thumbs up, cannot beat the location.
This house, built in 1901, is the quintessential beach house. Don't be shocked by the musty, beachy smell. It's not fancy, but after a short time you feel right at home. You can just feel the history and family love in this place. It's just steps away from a beautiful, quiet beach, yet within walking/biking distance to historical landmarks and quaint shops. Communication with Stephen , the owner, was easy.
Be advised, the pictures in the listing are old. You can't see the beach from the deck due to tall tree/bush growth(which, when you read about the area, was necessary, but dissappointing none the less.) It was also stiflingly hot upstairs, where the only indoor shower is, so we used the outdoor shower, which was great! Upstairs is a wide open room that is a great hangout for kids if you cool it down.
One evening, we took a walk down the beach around 7-7:30 and saw a pod of dolphins feeding and playing. This is where the whale/dolphin watch boat comes! Amazing, and so close!!
All in all, we had a wonderful time at this property and would come back again!
The location & relaxing environment was the perfect getaway for our family. Accessibility to the beach, just a stone’s throw from the house, made it perfect for us.
Steps away from the beach, this original wood cottage from 1901 gives you a feel for the earliest days of Cape May Point/Seagrove. The lovely garden and rooftop deck overlooking the dunes are outstanding for relaxing, bird watching, etc. The wooden interior oozes charm from a bygone era, and the owners are rightly proud of this historic gem.
We had a very pleasant stay at the rustic and charming cottage which is situated just a few steps away from the picturesque dunes, beaches, and sunsets of Cape May Point. The cottage is over a hundred years old but it is clean, comfortable, well-equipped, and well-maintained. The property is attractively landscaped and has a screened porch, 2 decks, and a private backyard for enjoying the tranquil surroundings.
This is a well-loved, well-used historic house built in 1901. The house is cozy and rustic and steps from a quiet, un-crowded part of the beach. Is you are looking for an authentic, old-fashioned beach cottage, this is for you.
Looking for the perfect beach bungalow for a relaxed family vacation? One just 50 yards from the beach nestled behind wooded dunes in the leafy, historic beach community of Cape May Point? Your search is over!
It's no modern designer creation, but a family getaway
that's evolved over 100 years into the comfy, inviting, kid friendly cottage it is today. It's the ideal place for an idyllic family beach vacation... and the price is pretty idyllic, too.
Plenty of beach toys, bikes, chairs, umbrellas in the garage plus a wonderfully landscaped yard and roof top observation deck with an owner who couldn't be more helpful and accommodating.
Book this place now because it won't stay available long.
We enjoyed the rustic homey feeling of the house and so did our guests. Everything we needed was easily found. The front porch is only steps away from the beautiful bay beach where the swimming was good and the sunsets awesome. The grounds and backyard were carefully planted and kept.
We enjoyed our stay at this beach-front cabin. If you are looking for the latest look in remodeled homes, don't come here. But if you want layed back, easy, and relaxing, this is your place. It has everything you need. The only reason I gave four stars on the cleanliness is because I had to clean out a couple of the fridge shelves when we arrived. Not a big deal. Our week reminded me of family camp years ago, only with air conditioning. And the location is prime! Having to just walk out the door and be at the beach in a minute, priceless. So convenient. We enjoyed the Washington Street mall on more than one occasion. Had several excellent meals at local restaurants, enjoyed some history, and relaxed a lot. Be sure to attend the flag lowering ceremony and the sunsets.

Beautiful spot right by the dunes. Cape May Pt is fantastic.
We enjoyed the old time quaint feeling in this beach house, filled with beds galore for plenty of people, although we were just two. It’s in a great location; steps from the most gorgeous beach, great for biking, and just down the street from The Red Store, where we had a truly wonderful tasting menu dinner. The house is unheated so we were chilly but there are plenty of snuggly blankets.
