About this property

Beautifully restored pigeon tower and converted barn.

This wonderfully converted pigeon tower and barn is set up for families and friends who are looking for the perfect self-catering cottage environment. The renovation was completed in July 2006 and includes the most up to date radiant floor geothermal heating/cooling, appliances and conveniences. The location is one of peace and quiet, while being in close proximity to a number of small historical market towns and vineyards. There is even an award-winning vineyard that you can walk to and visit just 300m away. Near by there are tennis courts and a public swimming pool.
In 2015 a swimming pool (11m x 4.5m) was added to the main property and is shared with the owners. A retractable pool cover ensures that the water always warm during the summer and into the autumn
The property also offers practical amenities such as a cot and mattress, high-chair, a baby bath and baby alarm.
The site has its own wi-fi and a satellite dish has been installed which allows guests to watch English TV.

Tout était là, endroit magnifique et calme, belle piscine! Nous l'avons trouvé le tour à pigeons moins adapté aux petits enfants, mais notre fils de 24 ans était satisfait! Prévoir éventuellement des moustiquaires à certaines fenêtres! Vous pourrez faire de belles balades, Monségur et Duras sont deux jolis villages. Nous recommanderons certainement le séjour

Nous avons passé une très belle semaine grâce à la gentillesse de Nicole. Une charmante personne qui saura vous accueillir pour que votre prochain séjour en Gironde se passe dans les meilleures conditions. Le gîte était très bien équipé et très propre. Le cadre agréable et reposant. Nous avons aussi bien profité de la piscine. Nous recommandons donc sans hésitation cet hébergement.

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine dans la maison de Nicole. La maison avait tout ce dont on avait besoin. Nicole est d’excellent conseil et laisse des notes informatives. Le cadre était idyllique et Nicole est très discrète, mais si vous avez besoin d’elle pour quelque chose, il suffit de le lui demander. Une hôtesse d’exception ! Nous espérons pouvoir revenir!

Entspannung in den Weinbergen
Herrliche Auszeit in den Weinbergen der Region Entre-deux-mers. Man kann hier bestens am sehr schönen Pool entspannen und Ausflüge in die Umgebung machen. Unser Tipp: Radtour in Bordeaux, Saint Emilion und einen Besuch beim sehr netten Winzer nebenan. Super interessante Führung und tolle Weine. Unsere sehr nette Vermieterin Nicole war absolut hilfsbereit und gab gute Tipps.

Definite recommendation of La Puy
Staying a week at Nicole‘s gîte was just perfect. It is absolutely calm up there and I‘ve never seen a swimming pool that is so well taken care of- absolutely clean! The gîte is huge, the kitchen also well-equipped and the surrounding villages are really worth a visit (especially the night markets). Moreover, Nicole is a perfect host and we thank her for this really great experience!

Nous avons passé une semaine vraiment très reposante loin du bruit dans la grande et belle location de Mme Jones, en pleine nature au milieu des vignes. 17/07 – 31/07/2021 Eerst en vooral bedanken we Nicole voor de goede ontvangst. Wij hebben van in het begin genoten van de mooie en goed voorziene gîte, het zwembad met patio en de rust en de stilte. Dit was alleszins de plaats om de batterijen terug op te laden. Een bezoek aan het nabijgelegen wijnkasteel is een aanrader. Van de wandeling in Monségur hebben we op ook kunnen genieten. Nous avons apprécié ce havre de tranquillité et cette parenthèse hors du temps où la COVID n'est qu'un mauvais souvenir. La maison est confortable et très bien équipée, dans un cadre magnifique. Le pigeonnier est un vrai plus. Un seul regret : il faudrait préciser dans la présentation que la piscine est indisponible hors saison estivale.

Relaxing rural stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at The Pigeon Tower. The gite is very restful and Nicole the owner did all she could to make our stay with a baby as convenient as possible, bringing out all the baby facilities for us to use. The swimming pool can be used between 10am and 6pm and is just wonderful. Our 5 year old son particularly enjoyed it. The area is quite rural so very relaxing. The closest bastide Monsegur is really lovely and the night market on Wednesday was quite enjoyable. Another great point is that the gite backs onto a wine farm, Chateau de la tuileries. The wine is so good and reasonable and the wine tasting was a very authentic experience. Thank you for a great stay x

Une Magnifique propriété pleine de charme
Nous avons passé un excellent séjour en famille dans cette magnifique propriété. Le tout au calme ! La piscine toujours à bonne température et extrêmement bien entretenue. Les enfants ont été ravi de dormir dans le pigeonnier . Mon seul regret a été de ne pas avoir pris 2 semaines. Mais nous allons y remédier dés l'année prochaine !

Geweldig verblijf
Wij zijn erg tevreden over de goed geoutilleerde accommodatie. Deze was voor ons 3-en ruim genoeg en voorzien van alle gemakken. Het (privé) zwembad was helemaal geweldig, lekker groot. Ook was er een overkapping met ligstoelen zodat je in de schaduw kon zitten. Al met al voor ons was het een heerlijk, relaxte vakantie met vooral veel privacy.

Relais du silence
Deze gite is ideaal als je rust en ontspanning zoekt. De woning was ruim en netjes, de ontvangst hartelijk. Het zwembad zalig. Gelegen op een heuvel, in een doodlopende straat, rust is dus verzekerd! Als je een wijnliefhebber bent, is een bezoekje aan het chateau zeker een aanrader. Voor de kinderen was het avonturenpark met klimparcours in de buurt van Duras ook een hoogtepunt. Een bezoekje aan Bordeaux mag ook niet ontbreken. Het oude stadsgedeelte heeft veel leuke winkelstraatjes en pleintjes.

Un très bon moment dans un très beau gîte au cœur d’une magnifique région
Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour dans ce très beau gîte située au Puy. Le lieu est fidèle à la description et aux photos, le gîte est très bien entretenu et la piscine est superbe. Nicole, la propriétaire, est très agréable et avenante. La région est superbe - nous recommandons vivement ce lieu... Nous aurons plaisir à y retourner.
