Lovely 1920's Farmhouse - Family And Pet Friendly

The Farmhouse has it all. 2 bedrooms have queen beds and one smaller bedroom with a full. Full kitchen with all the regular necessities. Full bathroom with claw foot tub and separate shower. Relax on the back deck overlooking the garden or on the side deck overlooking the orchard. Plenty of parking, even for an RV. A little over 400' above sea level, The Farmhouse gets much more sun than the town of Mendocino, which is 3 miles down the road. It can be up to 10 degrees warmer on a typical day. The Farmhouse has an incredible 1/2 acre yard that is completely and securely fenced. It is safe for dogs of all sizes and kids. Feel safe knowing the kids and dogs can run around endlessly outside, through the orchard and play on the hammock. Gas Weber grill for BBQ's. Just down the road are many great beaches, restaurants, stores and spas. 10 miles to the north is Fort Bragg which has many more options including Noyo Harbor, Cinemas, and Mini Golf. 30 minutes inland are many vineyards for wine tasting and eating. The ocean provides lots of recreational activities, including shore fishing, scuba diving, spearfishing, crabbing, kayaking, surfing, stand up paddle boarding and boating. The Farmhouse is a special property encompassing what Mendocino is all about.

Better than the pictures!

This is such a lovely house and while the bedrooms aren't huge we felt like the whole house ended up being even better than expected! The bathroom was wonderful and the kitchen was well-stocked. My kids loved the yard and having a fenced yard for the kids and dogs was wonderful. We had many friends ask for the booking info while we were there based on my pictures and I was tempted to tell them they could have it only if they brought me back with them!

Beautiful and quiet

Quaint and charming home with very large securely fenced yard which was perfect for our dogs. Fun yard for humans too with volleyball or badminton. Bring bug spray ad the mosquitos were a bit heavy in mid May. We lived this home and would stay again.

Lovely stay

This property was even better than the description. Property offers a quiet peaceful retreat just inland from Mendocino and associated beach and headland access. Rustic, and restful with a crow’s foot soaking tub and many retro amenities, right down to the 1950’s Electrolux vacuum with a retractable cord. Plenty to do on a rainy day too, with numerous puzzles, games and interesting reads. The yard was amazing, fenced and thoughtfully laid out. Quite simply wonderful, we’ll be returning again.

Great location and beautiful property

The house was very charming and was like going to a grandparents house. Very clean, had all the dishes we could ever need, coffee there for us, pack and play for the baby. Beautiful gardens around the house. Just wish it wasn’t raining so we could have explored the property more.

Wonderful Farmhouse

The farmhouse was perfect for two of us and our two generously sized dogs. Great fenced yard, great kitchen, great living room with room for everyone, and a lovely bathroom. Very generously stocked with towels, toilet paper and enough dishes for 100 people. This is one place we would love to come back to. Also, nicely located very near Big River beach and trail.

A contemplative getaway

This property is sweet, cozy, private, with plenty of fenced yard for my dogs to run free. The gardens were just coming to life while I was there. I immediately felt at home in the simple cottage and settled in for my stay with no fuss, able to breathe and contemplate. I will come back here when I can and highly recommend it.

Nice cozy cottage. Great yard for dogs. Quiet spot outside of Mendocino, but quick and easy to drive into town or down to the beach. Responsive owner. Enjoyed our stay.

Probably the best VRBO we have stayed in. Perfect for Fur babies. Lots of special Touches - air purifiers, dehumidifiers, herbs in shower, games. And chickens!

Home Away From Home

After first reading all t he reviews of this property I can honestly say they were all "spot on." The only downside.for us was the long, long drive from SoCal...but well worth it indeed!

Hideaway with your dog, sunshine, flowers, fresh chicken eggs!

This was our second stay here and it as every bit as wonderful as the first time. Hosts are responsive and give total privacy - super clear communication about expectations and scheduling. There are chicken eggs and meyer lemons from the property. The house manages 3 bedrooms in a cozy space without feeling crowded. The huge well fenced yard is fantastic for bringing your dog and having lots of room to run and play together. The gardens are beautiful and the sunny deck with a grill is a perfect place to lose a day (or 4). Town & the ocean is only 8 minutes away if you need to grab supplies or get your ocean fix. Last, but truly not least for anyone trying to cook in a vacation spot, there are SHARP KNIVES in the kitchen. A truly excellent surprise.

Magical Farmhouse Property

The beauty of this property is majestic. Once you arrive it is easy to decompress and relax in the comfort of your own private oasis. Our dog Molly loved the fully enclosed yard with lots of space to run and play. The back deck was perfect for stargazing and watching the moon. The inside of the farmhouse was comfy and cozy and the farm fresh eggs were a special treat. Patrick and Rachel were great with all of the communication and we really appreciate how welcoming they were. The location is a quick 10 minute drive to Mendocino and a few more minutes up the highway to Noyo Harbor and Fort Bragg. We will be back!!!

Perfect farmhouse getaway

We had a wonderful time. Our son and daughter-in-law were with us from New York and had to spend a lot of time working online with their business. That afforded us much time in this cozy well appointed home, so we were really able to enjoy it. Having been to Fort Bragg/Mendocino many times throughout our children’s lives, we didn’t have to tour around so much which allowed us the opportunity to spend some real quality time together. We appreciated that the kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed to cook with etc. The area was very quiet and private It was just perfect for us. We were even greeted by fresh eggs when we arrived. How thoughtful is that? Patrick and Rachel are great hosts and we truly were able to feel it was our own home while we were there. The garden and flowers were awesome. Patrick was fighting the Caldor fire in Lake Tahoe so we want to make sure and thank him deeply from our hearts.

Loved it!

We love everything about this place and just had an amazing 5 night stay. There is a rustic charm to the farm house that is very laid back and just what you would expect to find in Mendocino. The setting is picture perfect and the clouds cleared over the property every day resulting in abundant sunshine. The hosts put a lot of TLC into the property and it shows. We look forward to our return and highly recommend it.

Daughter's wedding

We traveled to this area for our daughter's wedding. We stayed for a few days. The property was beautiful. The house was clean and comfortable. The property is on a very busy, high speed road, so walking or running is out of the question (without danger). Other than that, it was the perfect getaway spot. Thank you!!!
