This property was perfect for our family - 6 adults & 2 children. Located in a quiet cove, it was especially good for the children to be in the water there. The kids also loved the foosball & ping pong tables. Plenty of kitchen equipment for our needs & inside is nicely decorated with comfortable furniture. With mid-90 temps, we did not get a chance to enjoy outside unless we were in the water! (didn't eat on the deck, enjoy a campfire or backyard games we brought) Can't control the weather! We intend to return to this property.
This house is very clean & the owner is environmentally conscious about not using pesticides & using the dishwasher instead of paper goods. Our grandchildren (& adults) love the fuzzball table & pingpong table. There are plenty of bedrooms(5) & living spaces. It is in a quiet cove.
Even thought there was a grill, like advertise, we felt it was unsafe to use. There was extensive rust around the burners.
The house and kitchen was well equipped.
Nice home but not right for wakeboard or surfing boats
The following is written with pros and cons as I would want to read reviews as a potential renter. We've rented many houses at LKG for 13 years and I always appreciate thorough reviews that point out the positive and "needs improvement". I hope it helps.
Positives:
Karen was a kind host. She let us arrive one hour early to work on getting our boat settled into the dock.
We love the Fri-Fri rental week instead of Sat-Sat which always seems to cut both weekends short.
The house was clean.
We loved the 2 fridges!!! Awesome!!
The house is well stocked with plates and cups and utensils for multiple families.
Outdoor dining choices was great to have so the younger kids could sit outside and eat.
The water out of the tap tasted awesome which is very unusual at the lake.
The carpet is super soft.
Needs improvement or needs mentioning:
The water depth at the dock is 2.5 feet which was really a hindrance for us for both any kind of swimming (hello mucky bottom) and we had to empty our balasts every time we came back in from surfing or wakeboarding and then refill them again. I know the owners cannot control this at all but I feel like it should be made very clear in the listing. I only knew how shallow it was when we got there early to load our boat in and Karen let me know about the situation. The shallow depth makes it a hard house for people who want to swim at all or even just the kids to be able to swim around the dock. And I really think any ski/wakeboard/surf family should know clearly about the depth and the ballast issue. It is really really shallow.
There's no light at the dock other than a small light over their pontoon which sends no light to the rest of the dock.
There is also not enough bedding/covers in the house. Each bed should have a comforter and some kind of blanket. We sort of had to search around in closets for what I thought would have already been on the bed. Even then, I couldn't really find enough. We brought sheets of course but think that top comforters of some kind should be on each bed.
There are no rugs in any of the bathrooms by the tub, shower or toilet nor in the kitchen. Our kids especially struggled with slipping in the bathrooms.
The den furniture upstairs is pretty uncomfortable, especially the sleeper sofa couch.
There were a lot of nails poking up in the decking and dock. We always bring a hammer for this reason.
Overall, this house has good potential so I hope this review helps you as you search.
We loved our stay! We had everything we needed within a few miles and it was so peaceful.
The name is perfect, we all wanted to stay one more day at least. We were on a quiet cove and we could float and play. We were only a few minutes away from anything we might need. Downtown Littleton has some cute shops and several good restaurants.
This is an older property but in immaculate condition. Complete with boathouse. Water is a little shallow , so choose the appropriate boat.
The owner is nice and extremely attentive. Property was super clean.
We will return
The house was clean and the owner was quick to answer questions and was very helpful. We liked the cove and dock. The house is laid out really well for folks.
Our large family had plenty of room to enjoy a great week at Lake Gaston. The house was clean and nice and the owner made us feel very welcome.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, listing accuracy
Ants and dog were annoying but house was clean.
-House presented very well on inside with the exception of the master bathroom shower which had tile mold around the outside bottom edges.
-Watch out for yard mines from the neighbors dog. When the dog needs to use the bathroom, he proceeds to go into your lawn and make a mess and nobody picks it up, so when we did the graduation party on Sunday we had a great day planned to only have the giant balls that the teens could roll around the big yard only to find dog crap and smell smeared on the ball.
-No diving or jumping off dock, water is only about 30-40” high off dock. Certainly not what we’re used to seeing at the lake however it’s just location being at end of creek area.
-Ants are so bad that we could not have anything on the counter or even the table. Everything needed placed in fridge. The single small ant trap behind the coffee maker was not help out the situation.
-the grill, no luck on grill, the previous person never cleaned the grill and it was a mess and smoked up so we chose not to continue with that amenity. The cover was old and difficult to even place back on because it was falling apart.
-nails on deck we’re popped up and I had asked owner for hammer to knock them down so kids wouldn’t get hurt on them.
-Having the 2 kitchens and fridges was a great feature.
-When we first arrived, we were relaxing in the back yard and the owner started mowing while we were there to start off the trip.
-Driveway coming in needs help with really bad potholes. Get a bed load of gravel.
-Overall the house was nice but attention to detail on timing and discussion with neighbors about the dog would be very helpful. Screw down the deck boards and fix the driveway entrance would be a great start.
Karen is so helpful. The house is nice, close to town and boat rentals. Couldn’t beat the price and the place had so much to offer! Thank you so much for having us!

Perfect in every way!
This place is amazing. It's so clean, that you think you're the first person to ever live there. The dock is beautiful, the back yard and front yard are spacious and great for throwing a football around with family. The kitchen is well equipped. The lake water is calm and warm. Close enough to Littleton to make shopping easy and quick, and far away enough to feel like your own secluded Paradise. Can't wait to come back and stay here again!

We did want one more day!
I went with 12 of us from my extended family and we had such a wonderful time! The house was even better in person! The location was perfect, quiet but close to Morningstar Marina where we rented a boat and jet ski and kept them at the dock at the house overnight. Plenty of room in the yard so we did hot dogs and s'mores in the fire pit, and played games like soccer and bocce ball! Having 3 bathrooms, a second kitchen in the basement, and a ping pong table was the icing on the cake since we had grandparents, teenagers and 4 year olds and they all had a great time! We will definitely return next year unless my wife has her way and we get our own lake house because we had such an amazing time at this one! ;)

Excellent interior, very neglected exterior
All outdoor decks and stairs had nails sticking up in many many spots. We had to get hammer to keep 2 year old and people's shoes was getting G caught. Screen sliding doors were all broken. Interior was excellent. Plenty of beds, good internet and TV. Two pet stains were unpleasant.

Loved the house..plenty of room
enjoyed our stay at one more day...big yard with plenty of parking...lots of room for the family and the kids loved playing downstairs....house was well furnished with what we needed..nice dock but water is very shallow...2 ft at most so no jumping of dock and if you have a large boat it makes it hard to get in and out...but we managed

Lake life
We had a great vacation at this lovely lake house. The owners were super to work with and made planning a trip for a large group much easier. Plenty of room for all. The young adults/teenagers had the whole downstairs to themselves with their own kitchen, and back porch. The upstairs kitchen was big enough for us to cook together, and the open floor planned allowed for everyone to congregate during meals and game nites. Most importantly though the boat house where we spent the majority of our days was located at the end of a creek arm which made for calm waters, ideal to paddle board ,kayak, and just float on our tubes. The only thing I wish I could have done differently about this trip was packed water shoes and taken a few more days off to spend at this great property.

Perfect Place for a Vacation
We had a lot of fun at this property. The big space in the front and the back yards we more than enough for our outdoor needs. The ping-pong table inside and the TV made a big difference, especially in rainy days. The living room appears a bit bigger in the pictures but overall our vacation was really fun.

Perfect Getaway!
We had a wonderful time at One More Day with our family and friends! House is nicely decorated and was equipped with everything we needed. The large back deck was perfect for grilling and eating outside. Especially enjoyed the quiet cove and covered boat dock (big plus for our boat!) Downstairs bedrooms and game room were ideal for our teens who played ping-pong well into the night! We have stayed at several Gaston properties and this is definitely a favorite!

Great house!
The house is updated and very comfortable. We really like that both floors have bedrooms which allows for privacy when with a large group. The large, flat yard is fantastic! There is plenty of space to play a variety of yard games and my kids loved playing soccer. The dock has a large area for sun bathing by the lake with a covered spot when you need a break from the sun. The cove is perfect for water sports or kayaking to the end to view some wildlife. We really enjoyed our time at the lake!
