Situated in the lower Cimiez hills in centre Nice, famous for its sumptuous and well-preserved ‘Belle Époque’ Hotels and sub-tropical gardens serving the tourist in the 1880's for 'winter breaks' They and the gardens all remain but now converted into apartments. The apartment is situated next to the Marc Chagall Museum and not long from the Matisse Museum and Roman site. Ideal for a relaxing break and a lovely walk through the orange tree lined streets of Nice to the Promenade des Anglais, Old Town, Garibaldi Square and all bus stops serving the Cote d'Azur. Apartment 'Les Palmiers' is the private use for 2 people, 48 sq.m and 7 sq.m terrace facing south over garden. Situated with easy access to main bus routes to Cap Ferrat, Beaulieu, Monaco, Eze and Menton. The apartment features air-condition, wooden shutters and terrace has sun blind.
Newly renovated in 2012. WIFI access, free local telephone calls, plasma TV and wide selection of DVD's. Apartment also has well stocked library and decorated with high quality furniture. We will provide help and information of places and restaurants to visit on the Riviera. We speak French, Danish and English and passable German. The apartment also serves to receive our friends and family.
Interaction with Guests:
Guests will be met at the apartment by mutual arrangement and owner will explain how apartment works and hand over keys. We will always be available to assist with specific requests and help ensure your holiday goes well. WIFI access, plasma TV and selection of DVD's as well as brochures and information on best local restaurants we have tried and can recommend. Owners contact details are available in the apartment. We speak French, Danish and English and some German. We have high quality International recommendations from people who have stayed with us for you to read. We have also just started with Airbnb.

Apartment situated on 1st floor (has large staircase and lift) with own private entrance in small apartment block/condo well secured. Has large separate bedroom, sitting-room, hall, large well equipped kitchen and bathroom with shower. The apartment is rented for the private use and benefit for maximum two guests. Quality Linen is provided weekly. There's free telephone to landlines in France (Europe). Near supermarkets, bus stop and routes to all the famous Cote d'Azur / Riviera villages like Eze, Menton, Cap Ferrat and the extraordinary Villa Rothschild and Villa Kerylos and Antibes etc. and a bus ticket still only cost euros 1.50 all the way to Menton!! Easy 20 mins walk through orange tree lined streets of Nice to the Promenade Anglais and Nice Old Town and famous Flower market.
Getting Around:
Apartment and bus stop by Marc Chagall Museum which connect with all major bus routes and destinations on the Cote d'Azur, from St Paul de Vence, Antibes, Cannes, Cap Ferrat, Eze and Menton. Also connection to Nice main TGV railway station. Free parking in avenues around the apartment. Good taxi service from Nice Airport. If only hand-luggage then bus from airport is great with one change in centre Nice to Marc Chagall bus stop. We can arrange collection at the airport for clients who are less able to move.

If planning to come to the Cote d'Azur region please note that in January/ February/ March it's the Orange and Lemon season (Famous Lemon festival in Menton March) The Mimosa in bloom Feb/March. The Nice Festival end Feb beginning March just to mention a few. In the summer months, Jazz Festivals in Antibes, Monaco and Nice.

Cimiez has always been my preferred location. Very calme , tranquil, green . Near enough to town and far enough from most tourists! Bus stop is just down the road, very easy to get around. The apartment is furnished and decorated with taste ! The aircon was absolutely heavenly during the summer! The shower was superbe! I would definitely go back to stay again! and Peter the host was very kind and friendly !

Home away from home in lovely Cimiez area

😀This apartment was one of the best I stayed in.. Beautifully decorated with antiques furnitures, paintings, leather couches, amazing huge bedroom by French standard and incredibly tall ceilings and long windows.. There is a large balcony with small table for outdoor seating and large modern kitchen with everything you need for cooking if you are so inclined The building is away from street which is a bit noisy and there is a courtyard and trees all around. Peter, the owner was amazing! Extremely helpful throughout my staying, friendly and ready to assist you with anything ( within his limits of course) you might need He gave me a map, a free bus pass as I don’t have a car, and even contacted his personal driver to help me move out ! Best host ever ! Neighborhood is one of the most elegant and expensive in Nice with beautiful villas around, the famous Musee de Chagall and the Winter Palace and much quieter the Next c’è Carre D Or area! ☹️The bus stop is not as close as I originally thought.. it’s on the Main Street Blvd Cimiez and you need to go down ( and climb up) 2 steep roads which can be challenging if you are carrying groceries and it’s hot! The closest supermarkets are 3 bus stops away , one south and one north .. and no pharmacies whatsoever in the whole neighborhood unless you walk down to main streets in city center Th n 5 local bus comes on average every 10 m and most times is was very crowded so I walked downhill and uphill a lot to stay safe ( people were wearing masks but no safety distance) If you walk it takes about 30 m to reach Main ave Jean Médecin at moderate pace Old News c’è is a bit closer Overall I really enjoyed staying at Peters house and I would gladly come back !

Charming and Stylish 1 bedroom apartment, fully equipped, very enjoyable stay

This stylish property is situated about 20 mins walk from Nice Old town in a charming and quiet neighbourhood. The owner Peter was the perfect host for our stay; charming , friendly and very informative about all aspects, from local transport and places to visit, and was accessible by phone anytime we needed. The check in times were flexible, which was excellent for us as we had an early morning flight on arrival, and late evening for departure, and Peter was fully ameniable to our needs. The apartment was spotless and beautifully furnished with Art Deco and contemporary style; a very cosy home away from home. The kitchen was one of the best equipped we have stayed in, and several meals were cooked with the bonus of having a dishwasher, no washing up! The bed was very comfortable and the apartment is very quiet at night. Overall we had a very relaxing time staying here, and it gave us a good base to explore Nice and the surrounding area. Would definitely recommend this apartment, and hope very much to return.

Très agréable séjour à Nice dans un très bel appartement

Nous avons été très bien accueillis par Peter à notre arrivée, et également par Selma, qui seconde Peter, et qui était venue nous chercher à l'aéroport. L'appartement est très agréable, très confortable, équipé avec tout le nécessaire, très bien décoré, très lumineux et avec un joli balcon donnant sur le jardin de la résidence. Grand lit avec super literie où nous avons très bien dormi. Environnement très calme. Des arrêts de bus de plusieurs lignes se trouvent tout près et nous sommes facilement allés en ville et en bord de mer, et pratique aussi pour faire des courses. Peter nous avait recommandé des bonnes adresses de restaurants, .... Selma nous a gentiment ramenés à l'aéroport à la fin de notre séjour. Je recommande vivement ce logement et j'y reviendrai dès que l'occasion se présentera !

Les Palmiers is a lovely escape from the tourist area of Nice. The apartment is large, well decorated and comfortable, with a fantastic terrace. The bed is the best ever, towels are large and fluffy. The kitchen is well equipped. All in all, the perfect home away from home! It is lovely to sit on the terrace in the morning with a coffee and in the afternoon with a glass of wine. To top it all off is Peter, the most gracious of hosts. He is a fantastic resource for things to do and restaurants to try.

Fantastic Apartment in Nice

We arrived late on Saturday night and were greeted by the wonderful Selma. She showed us around the apartment and then kindly drove us into Old Nice to find some late night dinner. Peter kindly phoned the following morning to check-in and give advice about the apartment and locality. Previous to this he had emailed a carefully selected list of restaurants that we might enjoy (he has superb taste!). The apartment itself is situated in a quiet resendtial area just outside the city centre. There is a small 'corner shop' nearby that sells fresh bread and croissants daily. There is a larger Carrefour supermarket about 10mins walk. Old Nice and the shopping malls are about 25 minutes walk or €7 in an Uber. We took buses to Eze, Monte Carlos and Cannes and these bus stops were walkable from the apartment. The apartment itself is stylish, spacious and comfortable. The kitchen has everything needed for preparing meals at home. The bathroom is modern with a powerful shower. The highlight for us was the balcony. Ideal for coffee at all times of the day but particularly in the afternoon when it catches the sun. The Marc Chagall museum is a block away and has a quaint cafe that does lovely coffee and crepes. Peter very kindly stopped by on our last day to say hello in person. Overall a beautiful apartment, ideally located and a brilliant engaging host. Thank you Peter (and Selma)!

Quiet, peaceful place but only minutes from the centre

The apartment is well equipped, clean and tastefully decorated and in a small apartment block in the Nice suburb of Cimiez. Cimiez is a residential suburb with very few shops, restaurants and bars but it does have four museums, a large park and the beautiful gardens of the Franciscan Monastery which have terrific views over Nice. Because of the absence of nightlife, it's a great place to return to after a day or evening in the big city. Nice is about 20 minutes away on foot (down the hill) or 5 minutes by bus. The no.15 is about every 15 minutes and the 17 (which goes on the main railway station) goes twice an hour. The buses finish around 9pm but there is a night bus to Cimiez every hour from Promenade des Arts (behind Monoprix in Place Garibaldi). The buses in Nice are great. They go everywhere and as far as Menton to the east and Cannes to the west for 1.5 euro - and into the hills to Eze or Vence for the same fixed fare. There is a huge Carrefour supermarket down the hill which will supply all your food needs. Cashpoints, smaller shops and boulangeries are on Rue Lepant which is accessed via some steps off Bld de Cimiez opposite the Roland Garros college signposted 'Gare de Thiers (which is a very quick way to walk to the station). There is a small shop at the other end of Robert Moriez (turn left out of Les Palmiers) which serves bread and croissants etc. We visited the cafe in the Chagall museum a few times which is open during museum opening hours. It's a great place, set in the gardens with olive trees shading the tables. Food is simple - salads, sandwiches, croque monsieur etc - and it's reasonably priced. It's the nearest eating place to the apartment. The apartment itself has air con (essential in the summer believe me) and a lovely balcony where you can have breakfast and dinner. There is everything you'll ever need in the kitchen, and all is of high quality - especially the Royal Copenhagen dinner set. The shower is powerful and the bed is very comfortable. There is wifi which is stable and powerful and the television has UK news channels. The owners, Peter and Michel, are helpful, knowledgeable and very hospitable. Peter kindly arranged a taxi to the airport and as they live locally, they would be on hand if you had any questions or issues. We have rented about 20 apartments in Nice over the past 15 years and this is one of the nicest we have stayed in. Highly recommended.

Charme confort et situation idéale.

Nous venons de passer un long séjour dans cet appartement décoré avec rafinement, que nous avons retrouvé avec plaisir (nous y venons depuis 4 années) le propriétaire est d'une grande gentillesse, très attentionné. L'appartement est équipé luxueusement, la vaisselle et le linge sont de grande qualité (chose assez rare dans les locations). Il est possible d'accéder au centre ville a pieds ou en bus, l'arrêt est très proche. Le calme est parfait. Nous recommandons à tous nos amis ce logement exceptionnel, le propriétaire est de bons conseils pour les promenades, les restaurants et toutes les manifestations à Nice

Full of charm and character

The location is superb, quiet and peaceful after the hustle and bustle of downtown Nice. Easy 20 minute walk down past some grand old buildings to the city Centre. Very convienient for the Chagall and Matisse museums. The apartment is perfect for a couple and has lots of character and personal touches which make it feel like home. Well equiped kitchen with condiments provided which is useful if you plan to cook and all the right pots and pans. Lovely balcony for sitting out in ghe morning and evenings. Peter was there to meet us and was very helpful with suggestions of places to go and restaurants to eat in. It was my partner's Birthday and Peter suggested a marvellous restaurant and booked it for me so I could keep it a secret. Michel booked us a taxi for the trip back as we had a bicycle to transport and needed one with a big boot. I would recommend this apartment if you want somewhere quiet, in a residential area, but close enough to town for everything you could need.

What a Joy!

We cannot rate this property or owners highly enough. Fantastic communication from Peter before and during our stay. Michel kindly met us on arrival and took time to show us round the apartment and also very patiently went through the map pointing out various bus routes, points of interest etc. The apartment was spotless, very well equipped, anything we needed was there. We enjoyed 'living' in the apartment rather than just having a bed for the night. Thank you both :)

Fabulous apartment with a wonderful owner!!!

We love the lovely Cimiez neighbourhood and the short pleasant walks up and down gentle hills to restaurants and shops (estimated 10-15 minute and 20-25 minute leisurely walks respectively to the main train station and Place Massena respectively). Marc Chagall museum is literally round the corner! This quiet, charming and well-maintained apartment is set back from the street in a large lovely courtyard. The apartment is fully equipped and is therefore perfect for a couple like us wanting options such as eating in, not relying on expensive hotel laundry etc. It is very tastefully decorated and very cozy and inviting. We enjoyed the south-facing balcony for our breakfast and for evening drinks. Peter, the owner was extremely helpful both before we arrived (he even took the time to research restaurants and sights in the Alsace region for us) and during our stay. Peter is an engaging and interesting person who made us feel comfortable in asking about various things. Thanks to Peter, we learned about Cap Moderne and The Maeght Fondation. And excellent restaurant suggestions! When we noticed the bedside lamps not turning on on our 1st night, he was there to resolve it at a convenient time immediately the next day. This very comfortable apartment has an impressive accumulation of maps, brochures for various Côte d'Azur areas, and a collection of books, DVDs, great TV channel selection, etc. We intend to return to Les Palmiers when we next visit Nice and we absolutely recommend Les Palmiers to anyone looking for quality accommodation in Nice!!! Weihnachten 2015 Relaxed

Wir haben den sehr freundlichen Vermieter Peter kennengelernt. Er hat sich viel Zeit genommen um uns seine Stadt und unsere Fragen dazu zu erklären. Die Wohnung ist genau wie beschrieben und überaus gemütlich. Für uns war es nur ungewohnt unter einer großen Bettdecke zu schlafen, wir könnten uns helfen 😊. Nizza ist bei 16 Grad im Winter sehr toll und empfehlenswert. Wir haben unsere 12 Tage genossen und sind bestimmt bald wieder zu Gast. Den Mietwagen könnten wir uns sparen. Peter hat uns die Buslinien praktisch erklärt. Für 1,50€ nach Monaco als Ausflug 👍. Dank Peter lieben wir Socca. Unser Bestes gab es vor dem Weihnachtsmarkt.

bel appartement raffiné dans coin calme de Nice

Nous tenons à remercier Monsieur Mathis pour son accueil, sa gentillesse et sa disponibilité. Superbe appartement qui correspond à la description, décoré avec beaucoup de goût.... dans un coin calme de Nice et pas loin du centre ville. Cuisine toute équipée, belle vaisselle, bonne literie avec des beaux draps, une jolie et grande douche italienne ....Il ne manque rien. Plein de documentations pour passer un bon séjour Sommes enchantés de notre séjour et nous le recommandons. Et nous savons que nous reviendrons sûrement au moment du carnaval..... Un séjour très agréable, sous le signe du confort

Outre la localisation idéale et le confort de l'appartement, nous avons été très bien accueilli par le propriétaire (un gentleman) qui a pris le temps et le soin de bien nous recevoir, nous suggéré de bons endroits à visiter et de nous faire sentir chez soit. Le lit est très confortable, les lieux sont impeccablement bien entretenu. Il y a deux sets de couverts de luxe, une vaisselle raffinée et tout ce qu'il faut pour cuisiner. Quant à la salle de bains, elle est bien équipée et on y prend plaisir à prendre ses douches grâces à deux pommes de douches à fort débit, ainsi qu'une céramique de style italienne. Je recommande vivement cette location à quiconque souhaite un séjour paisible, tout en étant à quelques minutes de marche de la plage, des marchés et des attractions locales. Encore merci ....et nous souhaitons y retourner bientôt!

Geschmackvolle Oase

Das Appartement "Les Palmiers" (Apt.) ist ein angenehmer Rückzugsort vom Trubel der Innenstadt, die mit dem Bus aber schnell erreichbar ist. Es ist hervorragend ausgestattet und sehr geschmackvoll möbliert. Die Angaben im online-Inserat treffen vollständig zu, nur die Bezeichnung "Sat-TV" ist etwas irreführend, weil die technische Anlage zwar vorhanden ist, die Vermieter aber kein Abo für kostenpflichtige TV-Sender abgeschlossen haben. Deutsche Programme (ARD, ZDF) können deshalb nicht empfangen werden. Hiervon abgesehen, haben wir uns in der Woche unseres Aufenthalts im Apt. sehr wohl gefühlt. Es ist sauber und gepflegt und über die schon sehr gute Grundausstattung hinaus mit vielen sinnvollen und hilfreichen Dingen versehen (Gewürze, Spülmittel etc.), die der Nutzer sonst kaufen müßte. Von den Vermietern fühlten wir uns schon im Vorfeld und auch während des Aufenthalts überaus nett und umfassend betreut mit vielen nützlichen Tipps und Hinweisen. Zudem erhielten wir zum Empfang eine Flasche Wein; auch Kaffee und Knabberzeug war vorhanden, ein frischer Blumenstrauß schmückte das Apt. Zahlreiche Unterlagen (Fahrpläne, Ausflugstipps etc.) liegen dort aus. Das Apt. ist vor allem für Reisende mit Sinn für und Interesse an Kunst und Kultur geeignet, die ein ruhiges und komfortables Domizil suchen. Wir würden es unseren Freunden unbedingt weiter empfehlen. Christa & Peter

Kleines Paradies

Das zentral und trotzdem ruhig gelegene Appartement in Cimiez ist ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für Streifzüge in die untere Stadt und die nahegelegenen Museen. Danach kann man auf dem bequemen Bett ausruhen oder sich auf dem Balkon sonnen, auf dem Sofa lesen oder fernsehen und hierzu die kleine Biblio- bzw. Filmothek nutzen oder am Schreibtisch die nächsten Ausflüge planen. Die Wohnung ist hell und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, gleichwohl funktional und gemütlich. Die Küche ist mit allem Nötigen ausgestattet, das Bad mit der modernen Dusche geräumig. Dass wir schöne Urlaubstage in Nizza verbringen konnten, ist aber nicht zuletzt unseren Gastgebern zu verdanken, die uns freundlich aufnahmen, wertvolle Tipps für die Ausflüge gaben und uns hilfsbereit zur Seite standen, als die Fluglotsen streikten und sich unser Rückflug verzögerte. Le bonheur......espérons revenir bientôt

Cet appartement est à l'image de son propriétaire. Accueillant, raffiné et chaleureux. Parfaitement situé pour profiter pleinement de cette merveilleuse ville. Nous n'avons qu'une hâte....y retourner !

Cote D''Azur Apartment for Art & Promeade Lovers,

Vi havde et rigtig skønt opholdi Nice, lejligheden vi havde lejet lå helt ideelt, tæt på mange af de dejlige seensværdige steder i Nice...bl.a Marc Chagall Museem, ikke langt fra restaurenter og den berømte "Promenade des Angliais" vi nød Antik marked om mandagen, spiste skøn frokost udendørs på Blomstermarkedet Cours Saleya...Lejligheden er meget smukt møbleret, en super- skøn seng, dejlig badeværels...frokost kunne nydes på teressen,køkkenet var velfungerende. Med de lokale busser var det nemt at komme rundt i Nice, det kostede kun 1,50 euro helt til Menton ved den Italiensk grænse. For os var den milde vinter en skøn oplevelse, vi vil helt sikkert komme tilbage, vi vil gerne opleve den skønne strand. Vores værter talte dansk tysk engels og fransk. En rigtig skøn lejlighed, som vi helt bestemt vender tilbage til. Tak Peter for al opmærksomhed og ideer til vores ferie.... Hilsen Helle og Karen

Appartement très agréable et très bon acceuil

Nous avons passé une semaine dans cet appartement très agréable. Il était très propre, rien ne manque pour cuisiner et la literie est très confortable. Un très bon accueil du propriétaire qui a pris le temps de nous donner de bonnes adresses de restaurants, il y a un plan dans l'appartement avec les commerces de proximité, le marché etc..et même un "caddie" pour faire les courses. Beaucoup de documentations sur la région. Nous sommes venus en train et l'appartement est proche d'arrêt de bus en prenant une carte à 15 euros par personne pour la semaine, nous avons pu vraiment découvrir Nice, nous avons même pu aller jusqu'à Villefranche sur mer. Le quartier est très calme, tout en étant proche du centre. Vraiment nous recommandons cet appartement et si nous avons l'occasion nous reviendrons avec plaisir.

superbe séjour

Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable dans l'appartement de Michel. Tout le confort est là, on se sent comme chez soi en un instant. Le quartier est très agréable, situé près du centre ville, mais au calme dans ce joli quartier du Cimiez. Très bien desservi par le bus. Accueil extrêmement sympathique et attentionné. Nous recommandons chaleureusement !

2ème séjour, toujours aussi conquis !

A little bit of heaven

I used to visit Nice in the 80's with my parents so although the town has changed it was wonderful to find this flat and have the opportunity to explore the south of France again. The flat is near enough the centre without the hustle and bustle, and easy to get to, either with a healthy walk down and a somewhat more challenging walk back up! Or by bus, the stops are nearby. Everything in the flat is interesting, beautiful, stylish, comfortable or all of the above! Peter and Michel are wonderfully attentive owner/hosts without being intrusive. They struck just the right note for me, ready to answer questions or give advice but not on top of me! The change of temperature from icy, windy England to bright blue skies and balmy breakfast on the adorable terrace was perfect. I was very happy to be so close to the Marc Chagall museum, his paintings are so inspirational for me. Also I had a fascinating walk a little way up the hill to the Regina, a big apartment/hotel block which Queen Victoria had built and used to visit in the winter and on to the remains of a very atmospheric Roman amphitheatre, and then on up again to a lovely park surrounding the Musee Matisse, another hero of mine! I would highly recommend a visit, for a weekend or longer but it will be hard to leave Les Palmiers!

2ème séjour, comme à la maison !...

Nous venons de terminer un deuxième séjour, aucun reproche à cette location soignée et raffinée, nous en apprécions la localisation dans un quartier calme et proche du centre, rien ne manque, que ce soit dans la cuisine ou dans la chambre où le linge changé chaque semaine est d'un luxe rare dans une location, au salon, nous avons eu un grand choix de DVD, de livres et de documentations sur la région. Nous reviendrons, et nous recommandons cet appartement plein de charme, où le propriétaire est très attentif au confort de ses locataires.
