Stunning Traditional Tuscan House

The stunning and beautiful Il Cicalino is located within its own extensive private gardens and grounds which extend to over two hectares and includes the magnificent private pool, pool bar and dining area, pizza oven, BBQ and assorted terraces around the house and pool. The extensive private gardens are complete with olive trees, lawns, and spectacular displays of fragrant lavender especially leading from the house to the pool.

Il Cicalino has been in the same family for many years. The owner, who rents the house exclusively for the summer months only, has lovingly restored the house to a very high standard and has recently updated the furnishings, giving it a feeling of complete luxury.

There are panoramic views of the beautiful Tuscan hills which can be viewed from both the house, terraces and the very large, secluded swimming pool and bar area. All the terraces are ideal for enjoying quiet, peaceful evenings, beautiful sunsets over the mountains and the tranquility of the property helping to make wonderful memories.

The un spoilt position of the house, described by previous guests as 'Tuscan paradise' contains an abundance of wildlife for guests to sit and observe, surrounded by wonderful shrubs, roses, olive and fig trees. There is also a garden of fresh traditional herbs for guests to combine with fresh local produce to create typical Tuscan cuisine.


Il Cicalino is located in an area known as Valtiberina, just 10 km away from the beautiful award winning hill top town of Anghiari, recently designated as one of the 10 most beautiful hilltop "borghi" in Italy, also renowned for the famous battle painted by Leonardo Da Vinci. The area, historically populated by Etruscan, is rich in interesting places to visit, such as Sienna, Cortona and Arezzo. Sansepolcro, the town of art and birthplace of several painters, among all Piero della Francesca, is only 20 minutes away from the property. Many Italian towns of beauty can be easily reached from the property, with Florence only a 1.5 hours’ drive away or a can be easily reached by train.
The area has inspired the three greatest artists of the Renaissance. Caprese Michelangelo is only 10 minutes drive from the house, the great artist Michelangelo was born and lived in this village, you will discover the chapel where he was baptised and a museum dedicated to him is within the Castle of Michelangelo. Also nearby is La Verna the Franciscan monastery retreat where St Francis of Assisi is said to have received the stigmata. A beautiful place to visit, filled with history where you can enjoy stunning views.
Layout of the house: On the ground floor is a stunning and cosy sitting/dining room, rich in character with oak beams and fireplace, an exceptionally well equipped kitchen to cater for all your culinary needs. Both rooms open on to a large terrace equipped for outdoor meals enjoying panoramic views over the olive groves and Tuscan hills. There is also a guest bathroom. The staircase leads to a first floor gallery landing with a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and large mezzanine area with a TV. Two other beautifully furnished bedrooms share a bathroom with views of the beautiful private grounds. Some guests enjoy the house and grounds so much, they simply kick back, relax and unwind in this little bit of paradise.
