Location was stunning, a great lake! The home is nice and can accommodate a lot of people easily. The only downside was the steep drive and parking. If you're a city slicker like me, it was a bit dauting.
We were very very pleased with our stay! The accommodations were excellent and the kitchen and bedrooms were well stocked with everything we needed and more. The location is very nice- beautiful scenery and the directions to get to the cabin were explained in great detail. We will definitely be recommending and some of the family will look forward to returning! Thank you!!
This was our second year. We love the place clean, fully stocked with kitchen wear, beds are comfortable, lake access is easy.already talking about nextvyear.
We always want clean VRBO rentals, and this one was very clean. Amenities were okay, but we were surprised to find out there is no WiFi. Cell signal was good, but I could not connect my laptop. No issues with bringing our dog. View of the lake is superb, but highway traffic noise was sometimes distracting. Also, we had to haul away our own trash, not a bit deal, just a nit. Overall, it was a good rental for our vacation weekend.
Overall this was a great little house overlooking the lake on the East Shore. Perfect for our gathering of 8 without being crowded. Lisa was a doll to talk to and very friendly. Expectations were clear and easy.
We had a wonderful stay at this lake house with a gorgeous view of Lake Almanor. Can’t say enough about that deck and view! Lisa was so responsive and gracious. Definitely coming back!
We have rented many house's over the last 20 years. This house is by far our favorite because of the views. The beautiful deck overlooking the lake is breathtaking. The house was perfect and accommodating. The kitchen had everything we needed. Lisa the owner was awesome to work with!
The owner was wonderful. The house was great it ended up with 9 family members and two dogs and there was a lot of room no one felt crowded. The deck is amazing. The only draw back is there wasn’t really a beach because the lake was so full but you only had to drive about ten minutes and there were nice beaches. We had a boat to and it was easy to park it every night. We will be going back next year.
The house was surface clean but we still vacuumed (dog hair on rugs) and there were cobwebs. Outside of that, it was great. The kitchen could have been more organized but overall, they had most things I would keep stocked like baking pans and pots. We definitely loved the deck and outside adventure options like visiting the lake and playing hide and seek all around the property. We look forward to going back!
We had such a great time at the house. The views are absolutely beautiful and the lake was perfect and perfect temperature. The water levels was a little high and there was not much beach area but I can image how great it is when the water is a little lower. We still had a great time in the water in the semi private beach area. The house had all the necessary amenities and the beds were very comfortable! Lisa was very quick to respond to any questions. Our kids had a blast at the house, the lake and going into Chester. We would definitely stay here again - thanks for allowing us to stay and make great memories.
The lake view from the deck was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed dining out on the deck. It had a great set-up. The house had plenty of space for a family of 6. We enjoyed our stay. The games were a plus. We did not have to skip our traditional family game night. I am not sure about the other reviews that stated there was only one bathroom. The house does have 2 bathrooms both located upstairs. Note there is no garbage service, so you will need to take the garbage with you or drop it off at the nearest garbage facility at the end of your stay. I enjoyed some much needed R/R the location was nice and peaceful.
Lake house was comfortable and clean and the view from upstairs living room and deck was amazing! The semi private beach was nice but because of high water level, there wasn't much of it. No worries, there were plenty of places to enjoy the lake and swim and paddle board within 5-10 min drive. Launch ramp was 7 min drive and fishing was incredible. Owners were very kind and helpful. Only issue we had was lack of outdoor play areas for small children because of steepness of property and lack of downstairs bathroom was a bit of inconvenience. All of the positives definitely outweighed the negatives though. Would definitely recommend, especially for families with older children (8 and up).
We had a wonderful stay at Lisa's cabin. I spent a lot of time on the deck with a book and a cup of coffee in the mornings and a cocktail in the evenings. The views are stunning. The neighborhood is quiet. It was a perfect vacation for my husband, our grown daughters and their friends. The kitchen was well stocked with all the dishes, baking pans and cutting boards we needed. Each bedroom had a ceiling fan except for one which had a standing fan in the closet (which is such a thoughtful touch, so nice to be able to cool the house down in the late evening and early morning). The lake was quite full so there wasn't much of a beach across the street but we loved it anyway. It was so easy to go down the street, across the highway and down the stairs for a swim several times a day. We went to Canyon Dam beach (which is a short drive away) once but we loved our little secluded beach and spent most days there. Since the fires, there's no longer trash pickup service so you need to take your trash and recycling to the transfer station before departing. It's a short drive away and was only $10.98 for as much as you needed to drop off. We would highly recommend staying here, the cabin was great and Lisa was a wonderful host.
Beautiful Lake View!! We rented this house for a week at the Lake for a family reunion. One daughter and family came from Sacramento and the other from Bend Oregon. A great place to meet. We had 9 total and the house comfortably slept all nine. As other reviewers have mentioned, an additional bathroom downstairs would have been ideal for this large of a group. The house is rented often in the summer and it is not stocked well with basic items (TP, Papertowels, hand sanitizer, towels, hair dryers) so bring your own! Best grocery store is in Chester which is about 25 minutes away. Semi-private beach was nice but narrow. Dogs loved swimming there. Deck is perfect for dogs, but due to very busy CA147, not an ideal spot for long dog walks. Had to do a bit of cleaning outside when we first arrived to get rid of spiderwebs and tree droppings, but to be expected in the woods. Bought yellow jacket traps from ACE Hardware that we hung from the porch which did the trick. Neighbors were doing a major construction job for several days that did not make it pleasant to be outside, but we were generally out and about during the day. Did a nice day trip to Lassen NP and rented a pontoon from Big Cove Marina for a day on the lake that all enjoyed. Unfortunately, the Park Fire started at the end of our stay and we were impacted a bit by the smoke.

We had such a wonderful time! Thank you, Lisa and Jodie! We arrived on the same day the previous guests left and the house was super clean. The kitchen is awesome and has all the amenities. The bed in the master bedroom is super comfortable!!! We also loved the large shower in the master bath. The deck is huge and has great views of the lake, the perfect spot to hang out. There's a large umbrella that provides ample shade during the day, and there's natural shade from trees in the morning and evening.
The semi-private beach is down the street and down some stairs. It's a small rock beach, no sand, no shade during the day. It's nice to go for a dip in the lake or to watch the sunset in the evening. If you want a sand beach experience, you can go to one of the public beaches and picnic areas nearby. They're all free of charge and not crowded at all.
Overall, we totally loved the area. It's beautiful and there are no crowds. People are chill and friendly. It's the perfect place to get away from it all, especially if you love nature. We brought our kayaks and had a fantastic experience. We saw bald eagles, ospreys, and various water fowl. We also highly recommend visiting Lassen Volcanic Nation Park. We'll definitely be back.

Beautiful view
The view is great but alot of other things weren't so good. We went to paddleboard and the lake had a big sign about swimmers itch. Bummer.
Also the week of reservation you get a 1000 security hold on your cc. I didn't notice at the time of booking. No garbage service at this house. So we had to hall all the garbage to the dump(inconvenient). There are 3 bedrooms downstairs and only 1 bathroom in the whole house and it's upstairs also inconvenient. Tried to enjoy the lake view outside on the deck and there were yellowjacket meat bees everywhere we had to go back inside. The bbq was so dirty and had trouble lighting it. We had to clean it before cooking. And last, there were mice. Eeek!! The owner sent the cleaning lady with mice traps. We caught 2 mice during our stay. So after all this the view is great.
