Casa Elena in Montevarchi
Spacious and bright apartment in an old house (the first origin of the building is from the 1400s), with antique furniture but with all modern equipment and comforts. Double bathroom and all the equipment for a comfortable stay (for example three flat screen televisions), Wifi. Large terrace where you can stay and have breakfast, lunch or dinner. The apartment is located in a quiet area, slightly on the outskirts but close to the historic center. Near the apartment there are shops, restaurants, pizzerias, ice cream parlors, pharmacies and supermarkets. The general hospital is 3 km away. Free street parking under the house. Railway station and bus station 700 meters. A1 motorway (Valdarno tollbooth) 5km away. Chianti at 15 km. The apartment is located in the central area between Florence, Arezzo and Siena. Endless possibilities for excursions to the nearby hills and mountains on foot or by bicycle (the host can rent city bikes, MTBs or racing bikes). Possibility of horseback riding (there are riding centers in the area). Indoor and outdoor swimming pool (open all year round) 400 meters from the apartment. Near the apartment in the center of Montevarchi there are the Cassero Museum (modern sculpture), the Paleontological Museum (one of the most interesting in Italy) with Pliocene fossils found in the area and the Valdarnese del Poggio Academy with an important library. The Collegiate (parish church) is a beautiful example of sober Tuscan baroque and has a museum of sacred art with an important work by Andrea della Robbia (Robbian temple. This work was reported by the art critic Beba Marzano among the 101 artistic wonders in the "Vale un Viaggio" series); the museum also contains illuminated choirs and other sacred art objects.
