Enjoy great home amenities in an upscale environment after a luxurious day on the beach at this absolutely stunning La Jolla home for six. This gated home is just one block from the heart of La Jolla Village, giving the family easy access to restaurants, grocery stores, and two blocks from Windansea Beach. Take a stroll five blocks down to Marine Street Beach, or head south to the world-famous WindanSea Beach. There's something around every corner to keep the fun rolling all vacation long. Decorated to the nines with high-end furnishings, tall ceilings, and opulent tile floors, you'll feel like royalty at this La Jolla home.

Gather the group in the comfortable living room to watch a movie or show on the flat screen cable TV, or play games while seating on the overstuffed leather sofas. The entryway has a gorgeous organ and armchair, perfect for a quiet afternoon spent lost in your current novel. Warm neutrals, granite countertops, and top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances make the full kitchen a chef's dream. Whip up delicious home-cooked meals using the in-wall oven and six-burner gas stove-top. Other additions include a spacious corner pantry, microwave, dishwasher, coffeemaker, blender, and toaster. Stay indoors to eat at the round dining table that can fit up to six guests (with the extra leaf), or take your plate outside to the back patio, which also has a gas grill for more meal variety.

Three beautifully decorated bedrooms on the second floor and two and a half bathrooms offer space for up to six guests. The lucky guests staying in the primary bedroom will adore the plush king-size bed, cozy sun room, and large attached bathroom. Enjoy a hot shower or fill up the jetted tub to end the day on a relaxing note. A queen-size bed occupies the second bedroom, and the third has a full-size bed. A washer and dryer are even included so you can pack extra light and always have a fresh outfit and swimsuit for tomorrow's adventure.

Drive or walk about a mile north to see stunning La Jolla Cove. Explore Scripps Park, Cuvier Park, and Point Mecinger. Spend an afternoon browsing art galleries and boutiques in the main hub of La Jolla, then follow it up with a mouth-watering meal at George's at the Cove. Booming San Diego is just six miles south where you can play around Mission Beach and Bay, visit Sea World and Balboa Park (home of the San Diego Zoo), and shop at places like Seaport Village and the Gaslamp Quarter. And don't miss out on taking in the vintage pier experience at Belmont Park just off Mission Boulevard.

Not what we expected
We were in town for a wedding and happy to find this dog friendly house 5 minutes from the wedding venue. I asked multiple times to check in early because we had wedding events to get to and they said it wouldn’t be available due to housekeeping. However, there was pee on a toilet, smeared windows, broken floorboards, rust in bathrooms, dirty carpets, broken toilets, and ANTS in the bathroom and kitchen. None of that was cleaned while we were waiting to check in. The house could use some updated paint jobs, window coverings, new carpet, and more tvs. It’s also very close to neighbors (can see through bathroom windows).

“A” for location and “C” for interiors.
The house itself is in a great location - a block or 2 from shops, restaurants, Comedy Club, beaches, theatres museums, The Conrad, etc. Parking is so convenient but you never need your car again until you leave La Jolla. The beds are comfortable and the home itself is clean. The appliances are top notch. It’s hard to describe how sad it is that the owners make zero investment in the furniture, cookware, kitchen amenities or linens to provide any sense of luxury that corresponds to the property itself. It cheapens the experience. Vacasa manages it well and responds when things break (dryer broke, got locked out from initial entry, vent covers dropped onto the cooktop with a crash) so they have a ready staff nearby. I got the sense that NO extra anything is on offer. No extra sheets or towels, 2 kitchen towels only, Folgers coffee provided, lol, but not one other thing, dishes and cutlery were mostly filthy with dried on food and put away in cupboards like it was clean, (probably by previous tenants or lack of rinse agent in the dishwasher). It’s a good value for the house and location but that’s really it. I doubt Id stay again but would look at other Vacasa properties. I’m curious if the parsimonious provisions are the owner or the management.

Great location, house needs updating
The location is wonderful, quiet and safe. It was easy to check in and check out. It was great to have parking spots as well. The rooms and space are as advertised. There were plenty of towels and paper towels. However, the house is in need of major renovations. Everything is pretty dated and used. It was clean but the rugs are very old and many of the shades on the windows don’t work properly. The primary bedroom is pretty bright so if you’re sensitive to light you should bring an eye mask. The shower in the primary bedroom hardly works - we were glad to have another shower to use. The shampoo and conditioner provided were travel size and I’d recommend bringing extra depending on how long you’ll be staying. The kitchen has pots and pans and utensils but not much else. The knives are usable but dull. There are no essentials like salt, pepper or olive oil. There was soap and a sponge, as well as dishwashing pods but it would have been nice to have some other cleaning supplies to wipe counters and the outdoor table. Two of the burners on the barbecue weren’t working. We used the oven and it worked fine after we figured out how to use it - it wasn’t very intuitive. We didn’t use the stovetop so I’m not sure if that functions properly. We’ve stayed in several rental homes in the area and since this one is very dated the pricing is fair. It was comfortable and we stayed 4 nights, but if we were staying longer we might look elsewhere.

Great location!
Wonderful location in a peaceful neighborhood! Yummy selection of restaurants within walking distance of this property. Needs new furnishings throughout, especially family room! One small sofa is not enough! Four adults cannot relax comfortably! Not much more that caught us off guard.

Extraordinary location!
Beautiful safe location that was very walkable to the beach and several restaurants. I would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for the TV's not working due to the WIFI not working at that time. I would rent there again.

Centrally located with private parking
Parking!! This home is in the perfect location in La Jolla. Do NOT plan on having a party or loud event, this is a peaceful family neighborhood. Respect that! The home looks to be in the process of upgrading, and it WILL be beautiful! Only one issue, not of the home, but product that is offered. If you have children or respiratory issues, be aware of the ECO-Pod soaps! It will explode when gently opened with ultra fine dust. This product after research, does have a warning on it from point of origin China. Bring your own hygiene products. Enjoy your stay in La Jolla, so many restaurants, walkable and the ocean is only a few walkable minutes away!!

My fiance and I had a great weekend staying in this lovely home with our kids. Locations is great and everything was very clean. Needs a little updating but other than that, it was a great stay. Willing to book again.

A comfortable place
Overall, a good place. Great location to central La Jolla. In walking distance to several restaurants, shops, and beaches. Fairly quiet street. Was nice to have a private parking area. The clothes dryer was not working, but we contacted our host representative and someone was sent to fix it the next day. Very impressive. All the appliances in the kitchen worked. We did notice a few surfaces and appliances could have been cleaned a little better but overall it was a clean space. Some of the beds were not as comfortable as hoped, and a bit low to the ground. Some of the furniture looks worn but comfortable. Upstairs bath has some water damage along the baseboards and some rust around the window and air vent. The dryer vents into the enclosed porch off the primary bedroom causing humidity and odor to acclimate there. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Great stay, will come back
This place was in a wonderful location and was perfect for our family. With the exception of the queen bed, which could be firmer/replaced, the beds were comfortable and the bathrooms clean. The king bed was super comfortable! The WiFi router was unplugged when we got there and it took us a minute to find it (was in the middle bedroom). Texting with Vacasa to troubleshoot this wasn’t the smoothest although we figured it out eventually and they were doing their best to be helpful. There’s a ton of towels in the place, including beach towels. Extra sheets would also have been useful. The kitchen and the place overall is reasonably well equipped (we appreciated the rice cooker and the W/D). It was great to have parking in the property. The church organ in the front room was fun to play with! Just to reiterate, the location was spectacular and we would come back again!

Lovely Family Stay
This house was perfect for us. Quiet neighborhood. Walk to the beach and everything in La Jolla. Well equipped kitchen. Wonderful roof deck with ocean view. Central air AND parking on property! Yes a few dinks in the walls & a bit of dated furniture but that is par for just about any rental property. People just are not as careful as they are with their own things.

Great location to vacation in La Jolla - & so close to San Diego
The Shangri-La is a really lovely house. We loved the accommodation for the four of us. Master suite is superb, along with a large custom-built walk-in closet. The location couldn't be better... only a quick drive into San Diego, yet with the benefits of staying in charming La Jolla.

Not quite what was expected
First the Pros: The house is in a wonderful location on a quiet street w/i easy walking distance of so many unique stores and restaurants. The Cons: The house itself needs updating. The property gate was broken. The kitchen faucet itself was broken (and didn't seem to have hot water available either). The "overstuffed leather sofa" described is actually quite old and tilts the sitter forward quite awkwardly. The rest of the furniture was also quite dated. The washer didn't seem to spin properly leaving clothes quite wet and requiring multiple (3-4) dryer cycles to dry the clothes. The shower in the MBA is hooked up backwards so hot water = cold and vice versa. The TV had a very basic DirectTV package so many commonly expected channels (e.g. ESPN) were not available. Are any of those things "game changers" in the end? Probably not, but also not at all what you expect for a nightly rental in this price range.

Great location! Beds and pillows very comfortable. Microwave did not work. Wi-Fi failed to work on the last day. There was no booklet to tell us where things were or how to work things like the TV. There were no helpful hints about where to eat locally. No information about what they want it done at check out.

Great Location, Disappointing accomodations
There were water stains on the MBR ceiling, and the FR and middle bedroon ceilings.By 2nd wk there was ceiling mold and water drips onto MBR carpet. I called but no one came. There was mold in the MBR shower. Stairway sign requested shoe removal on the filthy stained carpet. Light on stair is broken. MBR blanket stained. Kitchen bar stools were broken. Step down into kitchen is big fall risk.Would not use Vacasa again.

Not ‘Shang Ri La”
Mixed review on this not great rental. The good bits: - amazing location - lots of parking - good water pressure - good tv / directTV channel selection - top notch kitchen appliances - good linens, comfortable bed The bad: - it’s very, very dated with old furniture and lots of visible deferred maintenance throughout - 90% of cups and “glasses” are plastic - the kitchen cutlery and crockery is very hodge podge and old; nothing matches - poorly stocked kitchen; cutting boards are super old; knives also too dull to cut much; no pantry items like olive oil or cling wrap - slow Wi-Fi speed - no door on primary bathroom - bed looks right into the glass shower - there is only seating for 3-4 ppl; not a suitable rental for more than 4 people - not all windows in primary have window coverings, so if you need a dark room, you’ll need an eye mask - we also had two nights of rain coming into the main bedroom (clearly not a new issue b/c the ceiling leak stains were already there) In summary, the location is amazing but the actual house is really not great. We don’t recommend it.

Good location, run down house
Disappointed in the condition of the house. More than a dozen bulbs out. Upstairs toilets don’t flush, the yard has not been cleaned up in months - still lots of dog poop in the front, filthy carpets, broken stool in kitchen, exposed wiring outside. Vacasa needs to take care of their property. Communication with Vacasa was delayed and suboptimal.
