About this property

Betty's Cottage, Brancaster, Norfolk

Betty's Cottage is situated on the beach road in Brancaster and is ideal for those who are searching for a great place to stay, in walking distance of both the sea and a good gastro pub and shop.

This light and bright single-storey detached cottage with quality fittings throughout, is ideal for a family, couples or a small group of friends wanting to stay in one of the closest houses to the beach. So if walking and having the sand between your toes in under a 15-minute walk is your thing, then this is the place for you!

With three well-presented bedrooms with luxury Egyptian cotton linens and silk filled mattress toppers, William Morris linen curtains plus two quality bathrooms, you will be assured of a good night's sleep and be able to relax and rejuvenate after a busy day exploring. The kitchen is well-equipped and the open plan living area is sociable and welcoming with a wood burning stove and lovely solid oak flooring.

If you do feel energetic and want a more active week, pack your bike as there are cycle racks with waterproof covers to store up to six bikes plus wellie racks to store your muddy boots outside. Equally if you want to keep up to speed with what's going on the in world then there is also good broadband at the cottage.

At Betty's, the owners have also thoughtfully built in some pampering facilities for your dogs too, with a washing area (including shampoo) to rinse away the sand and salt from their fur and paws after a fun day on the beach.

With driveway parking to the front and all rooms located on the ground floor, this cottage is both practical and accommodating, in this ever-popular North Norfolk coastal village. It regularly attracts repeat visitors, which is testament to its year-round appeal and the owners who live close by.

Betty's can be booked in conjunction with the neighbouring Grooms Cottage for larger groups. The cottages sit just 20ft away from one another, so both enjoy plenty of privacy yet are close enough, for two groups to enjoy quality time together.

Good times
We thoroughly enjoyed our break in Betty’s cottage, lovely large room where you can cook, relax and eat and we sat out in garden. Fantastic wood burner. Kitchen fantastically equipped. Plenty of space, lovely large bedrooms, very comfortable beds. Spotlessly cleaned. Close to the lovely beach, lovely pub, the ship and a deli type shop with a great bar attached for families. All in all an excellent place to stay and would book again. Could not fault it.

Stay review in bettys cottage Monday 7th March for 4 nights
We found the cottage was exceptionally clean with the exception of the patio windows, which looked as thought hey had not been cleaned for a very long time Despite this the cottage was exceptionally clean, bathrooms and bedrooms spotless Also we would have expected at least a spare pedal bin liner We have stayed in Norfolk properties for 10 years , both private hire and also with one of Hideaways competitors and we have always received a welcome pack, for the cost of the hire not too much to ask hence my low score for VFM There was a full bottle of milk in the fridge which was 3 days out of date!! Despite my comments above I would consider staying there again

A wonderful place to stay!
We have stayed at Betty’s cottage before and have booked to stay again later in the year. We just love it! It is situated near Brancaster beach - which our two dogs love. There is a local shop nearby and Hunstanton is not far away for larger supermarkets. The accommodation itself is wonderful! It is spacious light and airy. The large open plan kitchen is equipped with everything you need. There is even a large selection of picnic equipment for guests to use. The garden at the rear is fully enclosed with mature shrubs - trees - and a raised grassy area with sun loungers. The patio area next to the house is paved and has a table chairs umbrella and barbecue. The sofas and beds are very comfy. There is a large flat screen tv with iplayer and Netflix and also a DVD player. It’s quiet there and so relaxing. We love staying there! You can really wind down. Betty’s has spoiled us from going anywhere else really. We really look forward to our next visit!

Fantastic last minute winter weekend away with family
Betty's cottage is fabulous ! We have stayed in many holiday cottages but this one is one of the best. The kitchen is so well equipped with everything you could possibly want or need. Great family space with comfy seating and a woodburner for that extra cosy feel. The three bedrooms were all very comfortable, with beautiful linen. The cottage is ideally positioned for a walk to the beach (15mins at most) and also has a lovely garden. A really fantastic long weekend in a great cottage.

A wonderful bolt hold for a New Year holiday
We stayed at Betty’s Cottage over the New Year week. We had a great time, the weather was kind and the rain stayed away. Although it was extremely muddy when out walking the dogs. But the dog washing area was just fantastic and helped us to keep the cottage clean too. There is everything you might need in the cottage, it’s very well appointed and well maintained. The beds are really comfortable and good quality bed linen and towels are provided. There lots of space for 4 people and 2 dogs. But I think it may be a bit cosy if there were 6 adults. Only really enough lounge seating for 4 people to sit comfortably. We were really pleased that there were plenty of cleaning materials, toilet rolls etc. This isn’t the usual case for many self catering lets. The location is great, just go out of the cottage and turn right walk a few hundred yards and you have the choice of walking to the beach or across the marsh to Brancaster Staithe. Fantastic for dog walking and some great spots for birdwatching. The beach is amazing too. My only criticism would be that the road was extremely busy with cars going to and from the beach and cars parking on the verges too. It must be a real nuisance if you lived in Brancaster permanently. This did subside after the Monday bank holiday, as weekend visitors left the area. There are some great pubs and restaurants in the area and two fantastic delis. We have been visiting the area now for over 20 years and stayed in many homes in the Thornham and Brancaster villages. I think this was the best, not only for the location, but it’s such a lovely cottage and so very well maintained.

A great place to stay when visiting North Norfolk.
Bettys cottage is well situated in Brancaster for walks along the wonderfull beach and the North Norfolk Coastal Path. The cottage provided our party of 4 adults and 2 children with everything we needed for a cosy autumn week. The Ship Inn is just 400m away which is convenient.

Lovely place to stay
We visited for a week with our two children and dog. Betty's cottage was lovely, well equipped (even a towel for the dog, along with shampoo and conditioner!) and in an excellent location for walks to the beach.

Betty's Cottage is perfect
I have already stayed at Betty's Cottage several times. The accommodation is warm very comfortable home from home! The location is perfect my furbabies and I love long walks on the beach and surrounding areas without the need to get in the car. Great places to eat nearby The White Horse at Brancaster Staithe and Sunday lunch at The Hero Burnham Overy Staithe is a must!

Just what we've been looking for
We were delighted as soon as we opened the door! Clean, bright and welcoming just what we've been looking for in Norfolk. The garden was secluded and lovely with plenty if seating. You can open the back doors to ket in the bird song and lovely fresh air. So we appointed. The bedrooms great sizes and the en suite shower, the best we've used! Only disappointment was the lack of we come pack! And not a lot of info about amenities and what's on and where to go in the area. We think thus would be helpful especially if you're new to Norfolk. We think we've found our place in Norfolk and are looking forward to coming back to Bettys very soon, can't wait. Fabulous!!!

Home form home
Easy to give this cottage a 5 star review. Loved our week here and will definitely be back. It felt like home from home. Everything was of a very good standard and a very well equipped kitchen. Beds were exceptionally comfortable, surprisingly we slept better than we do at home! So much to do locally especially the walk to the beach straight from the front door. For all these reasons and many more, we can highly recommend Betty's cottage.
