About this property

Pebble Cottage, Brancaster Staithe, Norfolk

A super cottage enjoying amazing far reaching views of the marshes and sailing boats out on the sea, along with a garden that runs all the way down to the coastal path. Take a seat in the upper floor sitting room and just drink in that 'to die for' view!

A traditional Norfolk brick and flint cottage, Pebble Cottage has been extended and beautifully refurbished to a high standard. Sitting in the heart of the village of Brancaster Staithe, with its excellent local amenities, the cottage front faces to the coast road, but from the rear, where most of the living takes place, it enjoys uninterrupted views to the sea from both inside the cottage and its extensive peaceful garden. The detached cottage is simply, but very comfortably furnished, and has three bedrooms; one is downstairs (king-size) with an adjoining bathroom, and two are upstairs (king-size and a small single that can be extended to make a zipped double if required) which have joint use of a shower room. The modern fitted kitchen is well-equipped and has a dining table set beside french doors that lead out to the garden. The cosy downstairs sitting room has plenty of comfortable seating for relaxing, as you chat about the day's events or watch television. You may, however, prefer to sit upstairs where there is a second sitting room with a large panoramic window that makes the most of the fabulous coastal view. There is a television here too for when the day has turned to night, but you may just want to gaze at the stars in Norfolk's big, big sky.

Outside the peaceful garden has direct access onto the coastal path that runs alongside the marshes and creeks, with the sea channel and beaches not far away. This is the most idyllic spot for all kinds of holidaymakers at any time of the year; whether you be serious or not-so-serious walkers and birdwatchers, if you like cycling, sailing, shopping or even if you just want to relax and feel warm sand under your feet.

Fabulous location for a great week

We had a fabulous week. We parked the car up on arrival and didn’t use it again until we left to drive home. The well-appointed cottage is perfectly located in a village with 2 pubs, serving food, a small garage/supermarket, and a fishmongers. We stepped out of the back garden onto the coastal path, and walked miles, through stunning scenery. We also stepped out of the front door and caught the bus, travelling up and down the coast, then walked home. We have booked again for next year.

Welcome return visit

A welcome return visit. A perfect location for a week's retreat and to be absorbed into the North Norfolk coast line. Views, walks, and birdlife - excellent.

Panoramic View of Brancaster Staithe Estuary

The Highlights of the Cottage are the panoramic views of the estuary and surrounding area from a first floor living room and access to the coastal footpath from the bottom of the garden. The Cottage is clean, recently fitted out to a good standard and very well equipped. Furnishings in the First Floor Living room are very comfortable and the mattress in the ground floor master bedroom good. Mattresses in the two first floor bedrooms, one kingsize the other was made up to a double were not of the same quality, fine for children I'm sure but for those of us mature in years positively uncomfortable and disappointing given the premium price of the cottage, Will book again because of views and position but will be sure I secure the downstairs bedroom.

Scenic Views

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pebble cottage - perfect in so many respects. Beautiful scenic views from the back garden overlooking the Norfolk coastline too with easy access to the coastal path. Well located for the nearby beaches such as Brancaster, Old Hunstanton, Thornham, Holme by the Sea. Highly recommended.

Just fabulous

Whatever the weather Pebble Cottage is the perfect spot. From the comfy sofa in the upstairs lounge you can sit for hours watching life on the water change with the tide, the view can't be beaten of the coastal path at the bottom of the garden. The house is well equipped with comfortable beds. In a busy Norfolk August stay the parking space was a bonus as roadside parking was scarce during the day. The location is perfect to strike out on walks from the coastal path at the bottom of the garden or to travel further afield by car or bus. This was our second visit and we will be back. My only suggestion would be that a handrail on the wall would make climbing the stairs easier and safer for guests as it is difficult to hold the bannister at the turns.

A stunning cottage on the Norfolk coast with views of the marshes!

Pebble Cottage is a truly wonderful holiday home! The cottage is well stocked and simply but stylishly furnished, with stunning views of the marshes from the upstairs sitting room and the downstairs kitchen. A long lawn sweeps down to the coastal path with direct access to the marshes, which changes all day as the tide moves in and out. Keen walkers can get to local beaches via the coastal path, and there are two excellent pubs nearby, including the renowned White Horse Pub and its stunningly located Marsh Side Bar . A well stocked supermarket and fresh fish shop selling local foods are both within walking distance, as are a crab hut and a purveyor of fresh and cooked mussels . The coastal road at the front of the cottage is extremely busy, which deterred us from exploring the local area. We gave up trying to get our car through the narrow gate into the designated parking space, and ended up parking it on the main road. However, once you're out the back of the cottage it is a peaceful haven! There is so much to do in the local area. We absolutely loved it.

Staying within sight of the North Norfolk path

We had the most wonderful time in Norfolk staying at Pebble Cottage - you would find it very hard to find anywhere more perfect. This is our second time to this cottage and it was just as good as the last time. The weather wasn't the best but this didn't stop us having a great time walking and bird watching and enjoying the comforts of the cottage. We both remarked that the finish of the cottage was more comfortable than our home and we could lie in bed in the morning and observe the coast - very few places you can do this! Can't wait to come back again sometime soon.

Our Visit (4 adults) to Pebble Cottage May 2021

A lovely cottage in an excellent location. Ideally situated for visiting locations up & down the coast from Sherringham to Hunstanton. The cottage is excellently appointed with modern yet practical & comfortable furnishings throughout. The 'wow' factor comes from the 1st floor lounge with views over the creeks & marshes (to die for). Within walking distance is a pub and garage with mini supermarket. Also, just across the road is a fresh fish shop selling local produce Easy access to the coastal walk - just down the garden- provides an opportunity to discover the coastline on foot The only slight draw back is that off-road parking for 2 cars is a little difficult to manoeuvre. Other than that a wonderful weeks holiday in a beautiful cottage set in an ideal location. Will definitely return. John Stones

Peaceful winter break

Pebble Cottage was immaculately clean & fresh, well equipped with everything we needed. A wonderful location for us, superb views from the house of the tidal marshes. The coastal footpath passes the bottom of the garden, and two pubs, a café and a mini supermarket all within easy walking distance (also a bus-stop for the excellent local bus). The narrow shared driveway to the parking area was a challenge, but glad to have off-road parking; the cottage is right on the road, but there seemed very little traffic at night to disturb us. (This may of course be different in summer.) We've already recommended the cottage to friends and hope to go back.

Great stay - road a bit loud

The place was fab to stay in really good location. Beautiful views, comfy sofa up the top over looking the sea. Interior was fab and very modern. Only shame was the bedrooms were near the road and it did get at particular times of the day.

Short break - 2 retired couples

Lovely property nicely presented. Fantastic view out to sea from the upstairs lounge, watching the changing scenery as the tide came in and out.

We absolutely love staying at Pebble cottage. It's a lovely house with great upstairs lounge views

Marvellous clean, well equipped cottage, stunning views, garden down to coastal path so amazing walks on the doorstep. We have stayed twice this year (February and this week) and will come again. Excellent local fish a 5 minute walk. Excellent supermarket with vegan and eco choices 7 minute walk. We will book again. Good wifi, comfy beds, no negatives at all!

Pebble Cottage

Cottage was excellent - no criticism at all. However we did find the parking difficult I.e. Reversing from a busy road down a narrow, enclosed driveway. On road parking not easy either.
