Short stay
It was a nice property but cannot be described as stunning. The property is a little tired, such as the kitchen units and chair covers. The property hadn’t been cleaned properly when I arrived but communication with the property owner was good and we came to an amicable solution. Unfortunately the phone wasn’t working which was slightly inconvenient but the neighbours were friendly and helpful. Overall it was okay for a couple of nights and close to amenities. With a bit of attention to detail and upgrading of a few things it would be a lovely place to stay.

Great Location
This was a great 2 bed property for our holiday. We have stayed around this area before so familiar with location. Property was gated, amongst 5 others so felt safe with no non residents passing/driving by. Nice and quiet at all times but we were lucky as nobody in house next to us! However, do agree with another review that the main bed mattress is very hard. But I guess that is personal choice. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again … thank you 😊

Good Property & Good Location
Stayed here in Feb and found it to be perfect for our needs. Property is in a quiet little development up a small road, and is behind gates. Felt perfectly safe and secure. Walking to and from restaurants at night was little tricky as a porition of the main road is unlit, but thats not a fault of the property, just that the location is a little more quiet. Which is not a bad thing. Bedrooms are good sized, Main one is huge with loads of wardrobes. Main bed a little hard for us but others may be fine with it. Bathrooms maybe a little tired, but A/c worked well in bedrooms. No A/c downstairs but we didnt sit there much, mainly out on the small back terrace. All the usual kitchen facilities and a good washing machine. Walk to Miami / enterprise beach is about a 10 min stroll, really easy, and frankly the beach is beautiful. No big hotels or high rise, with no endless lines of sunloungers. There is a lovely shaded tree covered area behind the beach, and a good food truck in the shaded area. Loungers / umbrellas for rent at the beach. Caspers outdoor restaurant across the small road is a great spot for an evening drink or food. The beach at the bottom of the road (Freights bay) is lovely, but the incoming tide means you couldnt sit on most of it at high tide. Great communication with the host prior to the holiday and a whatsapp group for use during it. Our local contact Angela was really helpful, sorted out some essentials for arrival, and organised a rental car which we found very useful for shopping in Masseys in Oistins and trips further afield when we had some rainy days. She also sorted out our taxi transfers to/from airport - couldnt have been more helpful. The green monkeys wandered past a few times, right by the back patio, and you must keep the doors closed, as all the little birds fly in looking for food. Very much recommended property.

Spacious property close to beach.
The property is great for a beach holiday. The rooms are spacious and well furnished. New flooring downstairs looks fab. The bedrooms both have air con, plenty of wardrobe space and the beds are very comfortable. Good quality bed linen and towels provided. Kitchen is fully equiped for a self catering holiday with large fridge, cooker and washing machine. If anything the kitchen has too much stuff, but there were only two of us so plenty of crockery etc for bigger groups. Outside space is great for breakfast and has a lovely breeze through in the evening. Property is in a nice area and is quiet, very secure, keysafe means you dont have to worry about losing the keys. The neighbours were friendly and shared lots of local knowledge. Its about 10 mins walk to the stunning Enterprise beach and a bit further into Oistins. Downside was off the main route for buses and grocery shopping. We got taxis back from Oistins after dark and to bring back shopping at B$20 and Angela kindly got some basics in for us as we arrived on a Sunday. Excellent communication from host before and during our holiday. This was my 6th visit to Barbados and this is one of the best properties I have stayed at.

Great location, shame about the property
Don’t get me wrong, we had a fantastic time. The location is awesome but the property is tired and lacks true comfort. Rock hard beds, crockery cutlery and glasses all needed washing before use as locked up for long time. On stove kettle broke first time used so had to buy an electric one (which was reimbursed). Floor tiles in dining area blew 1st week in making the area unusable. Kitchen cupboards don’t close without effort. However, air con units were great and there was loads of fresh linen and towels. Wash machine is awesome but the pegs were lacking so had to buy some. Such a shame as this could be an amazing place!

Property is nice, stay spoiled by neighbours at number 5
Regular traveller to Barbados stayed at various properties. Was in Barbados 5 weeks this visit, spent last 5 days here. If you are going to have visitors from Bajan family or friends do not recommend you stay here, they English owners at number 5 right next door complained about me leaving small communal gate open, when I explained it was left open as we were going right back out, he waved a lock at me and said if I did not close gate he would put the lock on the gate and we would not be able to get out as they were the owners. He came prepared with the lock, it was not a polite reminder Gate was left open twice during mid morning for a short period as we were picked up by family, of adults and children, behaviour made our family uncomfortable and unwelcome. We could be wrong but suspected the reason is they do not want locals there. Spoiled our stay, would not stay here again Apart from that home is clean, beds comfortable, 15 minute walk from Miami Beach

Old but clean and secure
We have stayed at Seriento for 16 nights. The townhouse is a bit old but clean and secure. We would like to say a big thank you to the housekeeper lady Christine who does a great job to keep this place nice and very clean. The property didn’t have any computer as was advertised. Not a big deal for us since we have our laptops. There was an old CRT TV set in the house. Ground floor has no air conditioner and it was quite hot. We had to keep doors open but had full room of mosquitos. Ceiling fan didn’t help much. In the kitchen some plates and glass cups were chipped or cracked. Additionally, it was not any Free Catamaran tour as it has been promised on the web site. We inquired about the tour with local manager Alfredo but he didn’t have any idea about that advertisement and he said it must have been some arrangements made by David but he didn’t tell Alfredo anything about it. So we didn’t get to that free Catamaran tour like it was advertised. We also should admit that communication with David was not consistent and a bit broken for some reason. The nearest Miami Beach is 1km away. If you take a walk be prepared to walk on the road with cars passing by which is not nice especially when it gets dark. In general roads condition on the island is very bad. The traffic is very slow due to narrow roads and local bus drivers often stop in the middle of the road to have a chat with the bus drivers going the opposite direction. Some car drivers do that too so you have to wait when they finish the conversation.

Seriento property
We have recently came back from staying at Seriento for 14 nights. The property met all of our needs and the location was absolutely perfect. About 12 minutes walk to Miami beach and Oistins. We found the facilities in the property as anticipated and it met all our needs. The only suggestion we have is about updating the computer as we were not able to use it. Also there were problems with fitting my Apple Ipod into the doc. It would be good to have an adaptor that suits all Ipods, Overall our experience of living in the property was very positive and would definitely be returning in the near future. Thanks for a wonderful time. Tony and Dorothea

Wonderful house on a wonderful island!
It took me a while but I am finally taking the time to write this. It was such a wonderful place to be and no snow! The Seriento is clean and modern, we felt at home almost immediately. Perfect location, close to surfing, Miami beach and Oistins. Couldn't ask for more. We enjoyed it so much we will be back for sure next year! Hopefully we can stay at the Soriento again! Great Christmas Getaway
We stayed at this lovely unit over Christmas 2011. The location is great - 10 minutes walk to Enterprise beach and about 15 minutes to Oistens (use the cut through behind the post office - ask the locals by the beach, always helpful!). We discovered Chicken Rita's - close by and delicious. We have been to Barbados many times and are never disappointed. The unit is clean, bright and has a wonderful breeze blowing through if you open the front and back door. I love cooking and was glad the kitchen provided all the tools I needed to prepare fish we bought at the market in Oistens. Sitting outside in the evening and listening to the peepers (chirping frogs) while sipping a rum punch was truly delightful. We would stay again and definitely will be recommending to others when they are heading down. You have a gem there.

Seriento, Massiah Drive, Barbados
Had a fabulous time at Seriento on our first visit to Barbados. Our two kids loved the little luxuries in the house that gave the place a personal home from home touch. The house is clean, spacious, well maintained and only a couple of minutes walk from a secluded beach called Cotton Bay beach where the only visitors we saw during our 2 weeks were a couple of fishermen. The place is also only a 10 minute walk from Miami Beach where the sea is very calm, still and lovely for kids to swim and paddle in. In the town of Oisins there are some fantastic eating places - our favourite was Fred's Bar where we sampled lovely fish dishes. We would certainly recommend Seriento to anyone visiting Barbados.

Perfect getaway
Myself and my husband chose Seriento for our 10 night stay in Barbados and where thrilled with our choice. We had never booked an independent trip before and David was fantastic from start to finish answering every question we had running up to our holiday. He was full of local information and really helpful. The house was just as on the photos and extremely well equipped with great little extras including ipod doc, wii, dvds and free Wifi. The house itself was very clean and comfortable like a home from home. It was spacious with a great garden patio where we sat every morning to eat our breakfast. The house is in a great safe location just set back from the road. It is in walking distance of one of the best beaches on the island (Miami) and Cafe luna a fabulous restaurant looking out to sea. I would however advise hiring a car as there’s so much to see on the island and driving is so easy in Barbados. A little bit of extra info which you may find useful: * We found a great little restaurant called Shakers in Rockley-you will need a car to find it as its set back off the main road in a housing area. We ate there two nights on the trot, the food was fabulous (local catch) cheap by Barbados prices and really authentic. Its not polished fine dining, think bright colours, fairy lights sat at the roadside. * We booked a boat trip through Elegance and it was out of this world, they only take 14 people Max so it felt like we had our own private boat, great food and a great crew! * Mr Delicious van on Miami beach is great for cheap local lunch when your on the beach-we had many a Roti and flying fish cutter there followed by a delicious rum punch! * Other restaurants recommended: Cafe Luna - for great ambience but pretty pricey. Harlequin - St Lawrence Gap-good fish. Fish Pot - West coast-best in my opinion. Oistins fish fry - good food and atmosphere on a friday night. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and want to say a massive thanks to David for providing such a great service!! We will be back.

A Wonderful Caribbean Experience!
Seriento is a lovely, comfortable, clean and well maintained property that suited us perfectly (4 of us). It is well located just 10 mins walk from beautiful Enterprise/Miami beach, just wonderful early in the morning and in the afternoon. It's just a short drive to Oistins for supermarkets, fantastic fish lunches and dinners, banks etc., and it is well located for access by car or bus to the rest of this beautiful island. The house is in a quiet cul de sac in a very nice area but not too far from livelier tourist destinations if needed. There is a very good restaurant in a hotel just a few minutes walk away from the house. The local people were very friendly and welcoming, and helpful if we needed any local information. The rum punch must be tasted and then enjoyed! We had a wonderful holiday and would definitely love to go back and would not to hesitate to recommend it to friends. Our thanks to all involved with Seriento for making it such a great holiday.

Fantastic visit!
We returned recently from 10 fantastic days in beautiful, sunny Barbados -- our first trip to the island. Seriento at # 5 Enterprise Court was ideally suited to our every need and did not disappoint. It is exactly as presented on the website -- it is well-located to beaches, shopping, and transit, not to mention the Oistins Fish Market and Friday Fish Fry (we recommend Fred's Place located on the main road and run by Angela - excellent family service and superb fresh food). We definitely felt at home at Seriento -- it is clean, cosy and quiet, and very safe, and the client service impeccable starting from our first contact with the host David to the pick up on arrival, to the cleaning service to the drive back to the airport (we didn't want to leave!). Everything about staying at Seriento was easy. We took advantage of the Premier Attractions card, taking the day-long Island Safari (the driver and guide, Duane, "Papa Smurf", was excellent -- entertaining and informative.) The Safari is highly recommended -- it was a great way to get a taste of the different parishes. The St. Lucy coastline and Bathsheba are not to be missed...very different from the West Coast. The lunch stop was also a bonus -- a chance to enjoy some fresh cooked Bajan fare. We went back to Speightstown on our own a few days later, on the yellow bus --definitely an experience! We returned on the Government Blue Bus -- a bit more subdued but the sights and sounds were no less interesting. Every morning, we took a good long walk through the SeaSide Drive neighbourhood, just down the road from Enterprise Court towards the lighthouse -- going a little further each time. Our last and furthest stop being Silver Sands, where we watched the kiteboarders. On our next trip, we plan to keep on going up the coast as far as the foot path will take us. And we do definitely plan to return -- just not enough time spent relaxing at Miami Beach, bobbing in the waves, indulging in flying fish cutters and coconut ice-cream -- we barely scratched the surface of what we could do and see in Barbados. Thank you David and your team -- our stay at Seriento was everything you promised and then some. We returned home with some very special memories. Andrew & Stephanie

A wonderful place on a wonderful island
Seriento is a beautiful property in a peaceful and convenient location with the sea at the end of the road.It fully lived up to our expectations based on the information/website provided by its always helpful and friendly owner.A car is not essential but we would suggest hiring one in order to experience the joys of other parts of the island. Most certainly we would recommend Seriento-in fact we have already made arrangements to return.Don't miss the Oistins fish fry nights on aFriday and Saturday. There are plenty of good quality restaurants in Hastings,Worthing and The Gap but remember that eatind out is a more expensive exercise than in the UK.La Luna (at Little Arches) is close by and excellent if rather pricey.

A perfect family vacation
We stayed at Seriento in November 2010 and made lifelong memories during our week-long trip. We loved the location, especially being able to walk to the beautiful Enterprise Beach and the Oistins fish fry. Taxis and buses were easy to use, and we traveled to beaches all over the island, though we agreed that the beaches close to Seriento were the best. We used the included privilege card and received a discount on an amazing day-long catamaran tour. We snorkeled and swam at various spots along the west coast, and we even got to see and pet sea turtles! The house was peaceful and comfortable and provided us with plenty of amenities (including a computer and wireless internet for the laptop we brought!). We loved sitting on the patio and watching the birds, lizards, local cats, and even monkeys all around us. We couldn't believe the quality of the home for the price! No hotel can compare! We will definitely recommend Seriento to our friends, and we hope to return to Barbados and Seriento for future vacations!

A little piece of Paradise
My partner and 2 sons stayed at Seriento this April 2010 for 9 days. I was impressed with the owner, David's, customer service skills from our very first conversation! Having never rented a holiday home before I was very anxious, but David took the time out to answer all of my questions and ease any concerns, which was so important to me and even went to the trouble of finding out best flights for me. We chatted on and off over the next few months as he ensured that everything was in place for our arrival. You can expect exactly what you see on the website and more as the home is lovely, very comfortable, extremely clean and has a really lovely 'feel' about it. Being in a developed area one feels very safe, yet not overcrowded in any way and being able to walk out of the development and see the beauty of the Caribbean sea every morning was just amazing! We felt so safe that we decided to watch the sun rise as we waded out to sea, and surprisingly there were swimmers galore out there all doing the same thing! I was told by one friendly local that there are 2 groups that go out for an early morning swim, the 4 o'clock and 6 o'clock group. It was actually more like a social event for them rather than a real workout but the fellowship was great! The house is perfectly located being an easy 10-15 minute walk from one of the most beautiful beaches I've visited in Barbados so far, Miami/Enterprise Beach and a further 5 minutes approx from Oistins village itself. Once in Oistins you are never very far from a cash point, supermarket, petrol station or a bite of something tasty to eat. We also enjoyed the great ambiance of the Oistins Fish Festival whilst there! Buses run 10 to the dozen into Bridgetown, hourly/half hourly towards Speightstown. David your holiday home comes highly recommended by myself and family and whenever I next return to Barbados, Seriento is where I shall be staying. Many thanks to you and Orissa from Rex Realty, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Fantastic Barbados Holiday
We stayed in this fab house for a short break. The house is great - everything is very modern and clean as it's newly built and there is lots of room. Internet access was also very useful. We loved the location especially Enterprise Beach (10 mins walk) and the fishfry at Oistens (also walkable 20 mins). There is a smaller beach right across from the house - popular with surfers - we did not venture into the water here much as the waves were huge! David the owner was very helpful and professional throughout the booking and he arranged local transport to take us from A to B and back to the airport. All in all a great holiday and perfect service.

Seriento July 2009
I stayed at this property with my husband and teenage daughters for a week in July before our 2nd week on the West Coast. I would say the pictures and description of Seriento do accurately portray the property which was delightful and very well situated. The nearby Enterprise beach is gorgeous and not to busy. (Much better in fact than the west coast). It has excellent facilities and you can get very good lunches and drinks from a mobile van. The Oistens fish fry was very good and we ate twice at Pat's Place. I would recommend the Marlin and Swordfish but in fact everything looked good. There is a very well stocked Supermarket at Oistens and buses go regularly into Bridgetown. You don't really need to hire a car but we felt it was worth it to get the most from your holiday. However be prepared to get lost! I would strongly recommend this lovely property and would definately book again.

My 50th Birthday in Barbados June/July 2009
Myself and 3 of my girlfriends arrived on Friday 26th June 2009 to celebrate my 50th and one of the other girls 50th birthday and we were pleasantly surprised with the accommodation. The description was accurate regarding the layout and how near the two beaches were. The house facilities were good (except for computer access - there were many problems with the server being down) although it was nice that one was available. The property was well maintained and easy to keep clean. The owner provided good customer services / transfer to and from the airport. We made use of the light beach bags we received - and was happy to display the seriento logo wherever we went - they were very handy/ useful. I have already recommended this particular property to friends and I expect her to take up the offer and book it shortly. It would be useful if the owner provided Bop insecticide to kill any cockroaches / other insects like ants, flies. Turtle beach - is situated by the fish market in Oistins and is worth a day out feeding/ watching the turtles come up for air - they make great images and you can swim along side them if you wish. St Lawrence Gap - is the place to be to meet the locals as well as for taking in the night life. We were lucky to get around the 11 parishes as we had a friend who lives there and offered to drive us around - but you could do/see more if you had a vehicle available. I heard(too late)that there is a place where you can hire bicycles - which is another good way of keeping fit and taking in alot of the scenery. The Roots&Rythmn dinner/dance show at the Plantation - is a must. Take the night bus and visit St James- there is a Piano Bar where you can hear some live music and other small bars in the same vicinity where you can join in and have fun with the locals singing Karaoke. All four of us had a wicked stay in barbados and hope to make a return visit perhaps next year. It was very safe at night and the locals both women and men/children are always very very friendly and willing to help in any way they can.

Why they chose this property

In 1957, Ralph Prescod (father to David and Mark) travelled to England form Barbados on a boat called 'Seriento'. He planned to start a career as a nurse in the NHS. He soon decided on a change of career and became a lecturer in motor vehicle mechanics.

It was in England that Ralph met Myrlene (mother to David and Mark) and soon began a family. There were frequent family trips back to Barbados over the years.

The past 2 decades have seen both Ralph and Myrlene pass away. The dream to retire back to Barbados was never fulfilled. Their two sons David and Mark searched the island to find a plot of land to build a home in memory of their parents. This home is 'Seriento'.

What makes this property unique

1. Location of the property

There are many areas of Barbados which do not have an 'eye to the sea'. This location can claim to have some of the most scenic views on the island. So much so, on the walk down to Miami Beach, you will often see married couples taken their wedding photos there and even musicians filming their videos on the shoreline!

2. Proximity to Oistins

One of the most popular towns in Barbados with year round entertainment and the best food to be found anywhere! The food here not only tastes great but is excellent value for money. Oistins is an unspoilt and traditional Bajan town.

3. Peace and tranquility

Whether it is a relaxing or busy sight seeing trip that you want, Seriento is a perfect base. Nestled in a private gated community of just 6 homes, you can enjoy all of the privacy that you require. Have breakfast on the terrace watching the hummingbirds play and enjoying the cool easterly breeze.

4. Entertainment for all of the family

Seriento offers all the comforts to make your trip an enjoyable experience.
