Lovely seaside spot
We had a lovely stay in this converted boat house. It’s a great spot for exploring both Belfast and the Antrim coast. Be sure to bring a swimsuit, lots of people swim right in front of the unit!

The Boat House is owned and run by Husband and wife team, Carol and Colin - pictured above with the local Mayor. We are passionate about heritage buildings and sharing the fascinating history of Belfast and its surrounding area.

Why they chose this property

The Coastguard Boat House is the only original Boat House on Belfast Lough, less than two metres from the sea it offers a unique experience for visitors - with many original features (1830s window, beams, boat rigging, hooks) while offering all modern conveniences. The Boat House was renovated in December 2018 and so despite being over 200 years old is as comfortable as your own home.

What makes this property unique

The views are amazing - you are so close to the sea that the waves often touch the sides during a storm. It is a truly immersive experience combining relaxation and history. You can people watch people on the path and beach, and at high tide see the cruise ships that sail past or on a still day the mussel trawlers who have been fishing for hundreds of years on the Lough.
