Holiday Home close to Marciac and Mirande, in the Midi Pyrenees, France - located in the medieval village of Mielan in the heart of the Gers

This beautiful Maison de Maitre, built in 1820, is located on the edge of the charming medieval village of Mielan, close to Marciac (host to the annual international jazz festival) and Mirande. The house has stone walls, beamed ceilings and many original features. It is in a fabulous setting with a lovely lush garden, private wood, large pool and south facing terrace. You can see the snow capped Pyrenees from the first floor. The house faces south and west and is flooded with sunlight through its many large windows, making the rooms feel bright and airy.

Inside there are 3 floors totalling approx. 500sqm. On the ground floor, there is a double bedroom with ensuite shower room, perfect for guests who have difficulty using the stairs. In addition, there is the large open plan kitchen/dining room with sitting area and wood burning stove and with direct access on to the garden. Behind the kitchen there is a family bathroom and utility room with 2 washing machines. Finally on this floor there is the first of 2 lounge rooms.

On the first floor there are 3 double bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom, and the second lounge. The fifth bedroom with ensuite is located on the second floor.

All bedrooms have double or kingsize beds and are large enough to accommodate a travel cot. One of the bedrooms on the first floor has an additional single bed in the room, the attic room has 2 additional single beds.

Beautiful and authentic experience
The house is excellent, so much character and history, combined with lots of space and very well equipped. Our family enjoyed all aspects of the property including the BBQ, pool and ping pong area. The location/village is very quiet and but has all the necessary facilities including some very good restaurants. Car is definitely needed in order to visit some great local towns and sites, including the Pyrenees. Wonderful time enjoying the best food and everything else the South West of France has to offer.

Beautiful and peaceful - wonderful stay!
We had a lovely stay at La Fontaine with our family. Nela was very communicative - the check-in and check-out process was easy. The home itself was beautiful, and we had a lovely time relaxing by the pool, eating bbq outside, or exploring the small town nearby (only a few minutes walk on foot). We highly recommend staying at this property, and would love to return as a family again.

Great holidays in Mielan with friends
We had a great week at La Fontaine for the second year, the house is lovely and perfect for a large group of friends. One small negative point is the water pressure, we cannot take showers simultaneously. Small lights on the garden terrace would be a plus. Thank you for your reactivity for the dishwasher. De très belles vacances
Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour. La maison est superbe et très adaptée aux familles, avec de multiples services et équipements. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la piscine et le jardin. Le cadre et les environs sont sympas à découvrir. Seul bémol: des nuisances nocturnes dans une partie de la maison, probablement dû à des rongeurs (?). Hormis cela, nous avons passé d'excellentes vacances !

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans cette magnifique maison qui a su garder tout son charme d'antan tout en étant très fonctionnelle. Nous étions 10 avec de grands ados et 2 petits garçons et la maison a fait l'unanimité, tout comme la piscine et le beau jardin (parfait pour notre chien également, ni trop grand ni trop petit avec la piscine bien clôturée). Chaque chambre possède une salle de bain attenante, ce qui est très confortable. Le descriptif et les photos sont vraiment fidèles à la réalité, Nela et son équipe sympathiques et réactifs donc ne pas hésiter à louer cette maison pour des vacances réussies dans cette belle région de France ! De plus, l'accessibilité au centre du village de Miélan à 5 min à pieds est bien pratique pour faire des petites courses (Petit Casino, boulangerie et surtout excellent boucher).

Tout ce que l'on attend d'une maison de vacances.
Ancienne école de village, avec beaucoup de charme et de caractère, cette maison a comblé nos vacances et nos attentes. Très confortable, bien équipée, nous étions 6 adultes et 6 enfants, très à l'aise tant à l'extérieur que dans les espaces intérieurs. Nella est disponible, son équipe attentive, nous avons adoré notre séjour dans sa propriété. Les plus, la vue sur le clocher depuis la piscine ;-) et les commerces accessibles à pied (le boucher de Miélan est réputé dans toute la région). A recommander.

Magnifique propriété avec piscine entre Auch et Tarbes
Nous avons passé une semaine formidable. La maison est très spacieuse et offre tout le confort nécessaire. La piscine était un pur bonheur. De belles randonnées sont à faire dans les environs dont une au départ de la maison. Un parc aquatique avec toboggans à Mirande (15 mn) a fait la joie de toute la famille. Merci pour tous ces bons moments.

Demeure très propre et parfaitement équipée à l’exception du grille pain que nous n’avons pas trou.
Excellent séjour dans un cadre magnifique. A l’attention des propriétaires pour leur information : la nuit des bruits de grattement venant vraisemblablement du Grenier .peut-être des insectes qui attaquent les poutres?

Magnifique demeure au cœur du Gers, la propriété est bien agréable et bien aménagée. Les Chambres du rez de chaussée et du premier étage superbes . Belle piscine qui mériterait un éclairage le soir pour en profiter au moins visuellement. Avons passé un superbe séjour.

Propriété extrêmement agréable où chacun a son intimité , dans une région riche en visites culturelles . La piscine est un plus , c' est un véritable lieu de détente , très bien aménagé . Nous avons passé des vacances merveilleuses avec une grande famille . Sans oublier que la première quinzaine du mois d'août peut être occupée par le festival de jazz de Marciac , un des plus grands festivals de jazz!

We are Nela and Jeff and we have owned this property for 4 years. We live in the UK and make as much use of this house as we can, all year round. We are very happy to share it with other families who we hope will love it as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

We looked at many properties in France before settling on this one. It is a grand, old property with lots of charm and character. Its location on the edge of the village means we have no one looking over us but we have all the convenience of being able to walk to the bakery each morning for fresh bread and croissants.

What makes this property unique

The house is huge and you can fill it with 12 people and still not feel crowded. It has a private heated pool set in a south facing, walled terrace that stays warm to enjoy right into November.
It is a perfect family home - the large garden and the fenced off pool can keep children occupied for hours. And if the weather turns against you, there are plenty of rooms inside to give everyone somewhere to relax and read or watch TV.
