About this property
Rookery Nook - Two Bedroom House, Sleeps 5
Warkworth is an historic village on the Northumbrian coast dominated by the mediaeval castle which stands proud overlooking the village. Just behind the main street is Rookery Nook, a lovely detached two bedroom property for 5 people. Accommodation is spacious and well proportioned, finished to a high standard with modern amenities. Just a short walk and you’ll reach the village store, post office, pubs, restaurants and patisserie. The countrystyle kitchen comes complete with a Belfast sink and lovely white painted units, walk in pantry and dishwasher. The living room is very comfortable and stylish with soft grey sofas and walls, feature fireplace, TV with Freeview, Chromecast, DVD/Blu-Ray player and X-Box 360. The bedrooms are on the first floor, one double bedroom and the second with a double bed and single bed, so it’s a good option for families wishing to holiday in this beautiful area.
5 miles away is Alnwick, probably most famous for its magnificent castle which was used in the making of the Harry Potter movies as Hogwarts. The Alnwick Garden was created by the Duchess of Northumberland ten years ago into a striking landscaped garden with innovative structural design and unique features. Alnwick is also home to Barter Books, a huge second hand bookshop set inside an old Victorian railway station. Visit the marina at Amble, 2 miles south, indulge yourself with an award winning ice cream parlour or join one of the fishing trips or stroll around the weekend market. Excellent golf is available in Warkworth itself and at several courses along the coast..
Warkworth is bordered by the River Coquet and the historic Hermitage, a rock-hewn retreat only accessible by guide boat is well worth a visit. The beautiful soft sandy beach is within walking distance so just chill, feel the sand between your toes and build sandcastles with the kids… a popular holiday destination.
