About this property

Jane Welsh Cottage is nestled in the picturesque Nithsdale area of Dumfries and Galloway countryside. Where we own 6 individual holiday cottages set around a lovely private court yard which have exclusive use of their own private HOT TUB, indoor heated swimming pool and sauna. a fee is payable for per hourly slot. There are two bedrooms, one which is an upstairs open mezzanine with en-suite shower room, this bed can either be made up into a super king bed or twin beds. The second bedroom is downstairs and can also be made into a super king bed or twin beds with the bathroom situated beside. This cottage has beautiful views of the Nith valley which can be seen through patio doors leading out from the open plan lounge/dining room onto your own private enclosed patio with HOT TUB August 2020 area which is ideal for BBQ's and outdoor seating. Perfect for any special occasion, including wedding anniversaries, birthday celebrations, Christmas, new year and any other special occasions as we are open all year round. There is a hall, open plan lounge/dining room, kitchen and bathroom with bath, shower over the bath, wash hand basin and toilet. Due to Covid 19 laundry facilities are closed until further notice.

Wonderful location

Great cottage, very well equipped kitchen. Location is the selling point, so peaceful and off the beaten track, but only short drive from Dumfries and the village of Thornhill is in walking distance.

Great short break

Really enjoyed our short break at this wonderful property. Hot tub, wine and sunshine 🍷☀️Hosts were really friendly and helpful when required. Nice walks in the countryside and village shops nearby 👍

Simply amazing!

What a gorgeous place, the owners were so welcoming and the facilities were beyond our expectation, cottages are exceptionally clean, spacious and a beautiful outlook to boot! We loved it so much we have booked already for later in 2021 but also hoping to come back before then too!

Perfect break for family Chill Out Time

My family and I are just back from a 3 night stay at Templand Cottages. We stayed in the Jane Welsh cottage which had everything we needed. Mezzanine level had master bedroom, en-suite and seating area. Separate bedroom downstairs with single beds for the kids and the bathroom. Wifi & hot-tub which the kids loved. Nice walks nearby which my husband, the dog and I loved. Great place to recharge the batteries. Owners are lovely and very helpful. Would definitely stay here again

Perfect getaway

I would highly recommend Templand Cottages to anyone looking for a break away. Beautiful setting and scenery with excellent amenities. The hot tub was amazing and the property had everything we needed! It's very cosy and beds and pillows are very comfortable. The fact you can book the pool and sauna is an added bonus, a small additional fee is required per hour, but is very reasonable and definitely worth it! It's also very close by to Thornhill which had some lovely shops and cafes for a wander! Jacqui herself was lovely and welcoming and I'd love to visit again!

Templand has been a great find. Only an hour to get there, brilliant range of properties, fantastic on site amenities (pool/sauna and games room), stunning views, great hosts, amazingly quiet and tranquil but just a half mile into village or 15 minutes into Dumfries - lots of boxes ticked and we're arranging our next visit already!

Lovely cottages and scenery and having the pool was spot on x

Had a lovely stay at the cottages made so welcome lovely part of Scotland. Went with hubby and friends and our precious dogs who had a ball ,pool was a great bonus just loved the whole time there didn't want to come home so thanks again and will be back soon xx
