GLACIER GLAMPING! STEPS FROM THE POLEBRIDGE MERCANTILE!
Cradled between the Continental Divide and the Whitefish Mountain Range just one mile from the northwest entrance to Glacier National Park is the electricity-free community of Polebridge. Made up of a handful of houses, cabins, a hostel and small ranches along the North Fork Road, the hub of this area is the historic Polebridge Mercantile and its neighboring Northern Lights Saloon—both powered by generators and solar panels (seasonal hours). "The Merc" is a one stop shop for locals and visitors alike and is famous throughout the state and region for its freshly baked goods, sandwiches and authentic personality. Just a stone's throw from the Wild & Scenic North Fork Flathead River you'll find our quaint "Cutthroat Cabin" is the ideal location for those looking to get away from it all or a launching point for your next Glacier National Park adventure. Here you'll find access to unlimited outdoor recreation from fly fishing to hiking to wildlife viewing and more, all the while enjoying the amazing views of the surrounding Northern and Canadian Rockies. The Cutthroat Cabin, named for NW Montana's native westslope cutthroat trout, is rustic, clean and comfortable with propane lights, oven and range, a hand-pump well in the kitchen and an antique wood burning stove. The bathroom is an outhouse. There is no electricity, the cabin is lit by propane wall sconces and portable propane and battery powered lanterns. There is no cell service or internet access. There is a public computer at the Mercantile and Wi-Fi available at nearby Home Ranch Bottoms. Quite possibly the cutest little outhouse in Polebridge too!

Had a wonderful 3 nights at Cutt Throat Cabin.
Wonderful weather - enjoy some sweets and drinks at northern lights and Home Ranch Bottoms! Exactly as we expected from the VRBO listing.
Thanks for a great get away!!
Wonderful stay with family! Hope our next stay is a bit longer. Beautiful area and hikes at Bowman and Kintla were superb. Very relaxing off the grid vacation.
We had a wonderful second stay at the Cutthroat Cabin. We love getting away enjoying one another in a cozy cabin. We have three teenage boys and it is so nice to be together to take walks to get treats at the Merc, hike, play games, sit by the campfire and even some volleyball at the Marc without the everyday distractions. Cabin is just as presented in the description and what you would expect for off grid! Thanks again!
Our family really enjoyed our time there. The property is beautiful, covered in trees, with a good view of the mountains. The place was clean, comfortable and everything worked well. We'd definitely stay there again in the future! As a matter of personal preference, we would have liked a mowed yard. The grass around the cabin was 2-3 feet tall, which made it a little tough for our kids to have space to play outside. Other than that, we really enjoyed the cabin!
We loved this off-grid spot in Polebridge. It was so quiet and my favorite part was sitting on the porch in the morning with coffee and treats from the Merc, watching birds and listening to the breeze blowing the aspen trees. We are campers and backpackers so pumping water, lack of electricity, and outhouse were not a problem for us at all! Super comfortable place to relax and unwind and explore the North Fork area. Thank you!

Awesome place to stay!!
This was our first stay at this cabin and it exceeded our expectations. John was very detailed with directions and how everything works in the cabin (there is no electricity but there are propane lights and appliances, as well as a cool hand-pumped well in the kitchen). Staying here is like going back in time - feels like you're in a remote cabin in Alaska but you're close to everything Polebridge and Glacier National Park have to offer. Great selection of books and games for adults and kids. Would definitely recommend this and plan to stay here again next year!
Mouse droppings kitchen cabinets next to cooking stove not cleaned if ever. Broken down furniture, wood burning stove fills cabin with smoke. Dangerous
We enjoyed the cabin, the first night when I said they would have to take a sponge bath, "What"! After educating them on how to do a sponge bath all went great for all other baths. Pumping water was new to them, and the 13- and 12-year-old just loved that we were close enough to the Mercantile that they could walk there each evening. I do need an address to return the stuffed bat to you, somehow it was in a suitcase when I started my 2 days of laundry. Thanks for the wonderful place to stay and learn from.

Would have been nice if the grass would have been mowed off the front porch and around picnic table instead of being waist high everywhere. Lighting was limited and all of the solar light battery’s we’re dead. We were able to find new ones in a cabinet. Paint is peeling off all the exterior trim boards. Only half the gas grill works. Grill cleaning brush was found behind grill in the dirt half melted. Sink is a single sink. Well pump has to be primed every time for use and make a mess every time it is used water goes everywhere and cabin where well pump is looked water logged. While the main walking area was swept clean the corners of the floor were dirty with mouse poop. Mouse poop was also seen under sink where you get the water to prime well pump and also where the pots and pans are. Corners of walls and windows had cobwebs. No windows open in dining area or kitchen. A screen door would be nice. Hand towels hanging in kitchen were musty and stunk I’m glad there were paper towels. Outhouse was nice and not bad. Overall the cabin was a dry place to cook a meal and sleep. We also used our own bedding. Not sure how often someone goes there to check on things. Could use some improvement but everything functions in a rustic way.
Hard to beat the North Fork in the fall. We had a great time at the cabin playing games and roasting marshmallows. My boys (3 and 6) love the place. Thank you very much for sharing it with us!

Cute cabin in the woods
This was a very cute and cozy cabin. It was harder with the kids being so young (4yo and 10mo), but we made it work! The multi levels and trying to get the kitchen water pump to work was the hardest part. Dog friendly is always a plus! Def no service, no water, no electricity.
We had a great time. Traveled with two dogs and they had plenty of room to run around. Although the Merc does not sell tokens for showers this year, everything else is as advertised. If you are looking ro get away and unplug, this is the place
We had the best time at the cutyroat cabin! We really loved walking down to the mercantile and the saloon! Our son loved the loft and we loved being able to bring our dogs too! So close to glacier and all of our favorite areas! We will be back!!
This was a perfect getaway location for our family. Without power, cell phone service, or WiFi, we were truly "unavailable" for the week. The water pump and outhouse made us feel like we had stepped way back in time, but the propane fridge, stove, and lights was a big step up from camping. They had a nice array of spices, good kitchen knives, and an outdoor grill to assiss with food preparation. The beds were clean and very comfortable. A book on Glacier National Park also came in handy. The location was quiet and peaceful.
