Monte das Pedras Pardas is located on the coast of Portugal, 3 km from Zambujeira do Mar, in the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park.

Perfect.
We stayed at Monte Pedras Pardas a week in May and had the most amazing time. The property is beautiful, quiet and perfect to spend some relaxing and inspiring time. The house is very spacious, comfy, perfectly clean and has everything you could ever need. It offers a big sitting/dining area with a large table as well as areas to have some privacy. The pool area is perfect with deckchairs to relax and enjoy the view. We had bbqs outside and enjoyed fresh vegetables from the garden nearby. The area also has a lot to offer: beautiful beaches, surfing, hiking on a wonderful coast, eating... This made it so difficult to decide whether to spent the day in the wonderful house or explore the area :). Thank you, Rodrigo, your family and the house keeper! This exceeded our expectations and we hope to come back. Sarah

Séjour incroyable dans maison de rêve !
Nous avons adoré passer nos vacances entre amis dans cette sublime villa. L'agencement de la maison est parfaite pour laisser de l'intimité à chacun et permettre de se retrouver dans les espaces communs intérieurs ou extérieurs à d'autres moments. Toute équipée nous n'avons manqué de rien et nous pouvions compter sur la disponibilité de notre hôte Pedro et du concierge du domaine Sr Idalio. Nous avons pu profiter du jardin et de la piscine comme des environs avec ces sublimes plages et balades. Je recommande à 1000%!

Excelente opção para um grupo grande de familia e aamigos
Esta casa é um projecto muito interessante, design realmente bem conseguido aliando o local e uma casa cheia de pontos de convívio interno e no exterior. A decoração é bastante adequada, a cozinha super bem equipada de loiça e electrodomésticos, tudo muito agradável mesmo em dezembro onde a casa foi bem acolhedora e quentinha. Os 2 pontos que poderiam melhorar são: a manutenção do espaço tanto interno onde pequenos pontos começam a ser visiveis, pinturas e pequenas reparações, e principalmente no exterior junto à piscina onde o deck está bastante estragado. O outro ponto é relativo à falta de flexibilidade e sincera simpatia do gestor da casa, Pedro Abreu, onde não permitiu que 2 crianças ficassem a mais mesmo tendo nós sugerindo levar um colchão extra... numa casa tão grande, obrigando a que tivessemos de alugar mais um quarto noutro local perto. E na hora do checkout que fez questão de manter para as 12h, mesmo não tendo ninguém para entrar nesse dia... Também não existiu qualquer tipo de simpatia, sendo final de ano, nem uma garrafa de champanhe (no quarto extra que alugamos, apenas um quarto, tinhamo um pequeno cabaz à nossa espera) detalhes que valem não só pelo valor mas pela simpatia. Simpatico só mesmo o caseiro o sr. Idálio que sempre tentou ajudar no necessário. Tendo em conta o estado de manutenção do espaço externo e interno o valor do aluguer pareceu-me um pouco elevado.

A fantastic break with other families.
We had a great weeks stay in this property. Rodrigo and his family were very helpful and helped us with anything we asked for. The property is set up for large groups and comfortably accommodated our party of 12 guests. There is a lovely pool area which was great for sunbathing and the seating area by the pool is fantastic at sunset in the evening. The beaches near by are beautiful and we spent most days surfing, sunbathing and building sand castles. Mr Idalio the housekeeper was very helpful he enjoyed showing the children around the vegetable and fruit patches. There is lots to see in the area and we would love to go back and do some more exploring.

Wonderful house in a superb quiet location
The house is spacious very well eqiupped and was perfect for a family group. Rodrigo was the perfect host and most welcoming. He gave brilliant instructions for how to find the house and was there to greet us even though we arrived late in the evening. Beaches near the house include Odeceixe which had sand and surfing and a river beach too. Paddle boards and surf and body boards were easily hired and above the beach is a cafe with superb custard tarts! We had a brilliant week and have already recommended it to our friends. Many thanks to Rodrigo and his delightful housekeeper for the part they played in making our holiday such a lovely one.

Perfeito!!
Passei aqui 3 dias/ 2 noites no início de Junho com um grupo de amigos (8 adultos e 4 crianças dos 2 aos 7 anos). Por onde começar?! A casa é completamente fiel à descrição apresentada. Aliás, a versão "ao vivo" é bem melhor! O espaço está muito bem pensado, bem decorado e em óptimo estado. Está perfeitamente equipada com tudo o que possamos querer para passar 2 dias (ou 2 semanas): desde os electrodomésticos até às opções de entretenimento. No entanto, para mim é o espaço exterior que faz a diferença. Desde o espaço relvado em frente à casa onde estivemos a jogar raquetas com os miúdos, os muitos espaços diferentes onde podemos estar sentados a ler um livro ou simplesmente a apanhar sol, passando pelo campo de futebol e pela zona do baloiço e do escorrega!! A restante zona ajardinada também está muito bem conseguida com vários tipos de vegetação mais "natural" (parabéns pela opção de resistir a "esterilizar" o jardim e colocar relva em tudo). A zona da piscina também é bastante agradável e a vista é extraordinária (tal como do resto da propriedade). A temperatura da água estava bem agradável , o que resultou em banhos nos 3 dias (incluindo na noite de sexta!!), apesar de não termos tido muita sorte com o tempo - esteve bastante vento durante o fim de semana o que baixou consideravelmente a sensação térmica (uma nota para o facto da piscina ter vedação a toda a volta, importante para quem tem miúdos). Gostei também do facto de a propriedade ter ainda mais 5 hectares de montado que ainda deram para uma caminhada matinal com uma bela vista sobre o mar. Ahhh, e as cabras, as galinhas e o cão! Os miúdos adoraram!! Miúdos esses que nunca se mostraram aborrecidos: piscina, campo de futebol, baloiço, raquetas, passeio pelo montado, ver as galinhas e as cabras, Disney Júnior (!!), brincar às escondidas...não deu para aborrecer! Resumindo: perfeito! PS - a única coisa que mudaria seria muito provavelmente a titularidade da propriedade para o meu nome:):)

Perfect holidays at a perfect property
Dear Rodrigo, we loved to stay at your beautiful area. We had two amazing weeks with the whole family, 13 guys from the age of 2 to 82. Thank you very much for the pefect service of you, your brother and espacially the houskeeper who offers us so many vegatables, fruits and eggs all fresh from the garden. The nature round about the house is wonderful and we enjoy this quit place to relax at the pool with a big scenery until the atlantique. Had some nice barbecues and some surfing lessons at different fantastic beaches, Those who prefer fresh fish, there are a lot of good restaurants, The house keeps what the pictures are promissing at the homepage. The poperty is clean and well maintained. This area in Portugal we love most because it is inside the national park without any hotel complexes. Natives are very friendly. Best wishes to your mom and thank you for the marmelade. Friends are asking us and my whole family is recommending your property as a "best place" for comming together within a family or just friends and learn to know about portugal. Keep your area like it is! Best wishes family Kolb

Penetrei no Alentejo profundo e vejo uma bela casa de linhas arquitectónicas contemporâneas onde se vislumbram sinais de remotos traços alentejanos nas formas e na alvura imaculada do branco, inserida um grandioso contexto paisagístico de árvores diversas, planuras e até uma longínqua praia - Zambujeira do Mar. No 1º piso duas amplas salas decoradas com muito bom gosto: uma sala de refeições conectada com uma cozinha em vermelho escura bem condizente com o branco envolvente e uma sala de convívio, vários quartos de dormir, amplos e confortáveis e um espaço de leitura ao ar livre, onde muros baixos travam o vento mas deixando sempre a visão da natureza e onde um solitário limoeiro é a única companhia. No patamar da escada para o 2º piso, uma impressionante tela em tons verdes como memória na natureza que antes disfrutara:E há nesse piso mais quartos de dormir com amplas janelas ou varandas e uma sala de trabalho: mesa de um certa dimensão, livros e mais livros, quadros nas paredes.. No exterior uma bem inserida e grande piscina, e mais adiante (ó requinte dos requintes!) um "castelo de rosas" para refúgio de quem é mais solitário...mais adiante, ainda, um campo de futebol.. Era-me dado , de manhã, o pão fresco para o "mata bicho" e às refeições legumes frescos arrancadas da terra, vindos da horta que também lá existe, um pouco escondida. Passei uns dias de sonho neste pedaço de paraíso e só me resta incentivar os meus amigos a que venham em breve usufruir desta maravilha. Antónia Maria Pereira

Unforgetable
I've spent my 2013 vacations with my husband and the belgium family in this house and it was an amazing experience. The house is isolated enough from the village (max 5min by car) to get your groceries. Its modern and charming and it has all the amenities needed. The exterior environments are amazing. Bathing in that swimming pool at sunset is a must do, such as a night barbecue under the starry night. We had fresh vegetables during the day and the strawberries were the best I've ever tasted in my life as well as the strawberry jam (kindly given by the very nice housekeeper).It was unforgetable for all of us and we recomend it at 100%!

Authentic luxury
We spent a week in this house together with friends and our two kids. We had a great time. Apart from the house which is very comfortable with room for both privacy and spending time together, we especially enjoyed the kitchen garden where we picked our own vegetables every day. The kids loved to visit the animals kept not far from the house and to collect fresh eggs. The pool area had a great view of the landscape and the atlantic sea. The pool had a modern cleaning system which involved no chlorine. Instead the water was slightly salty and felt incredibly fresh, almost like sea water. The house was not right by the sea side, but the surrounding area was very charming and typical for the Alentejo area with small villages and plenty of cork trees. And the sea was only ten minutes away by car. During our week we found beautiful beaches and in one place they offered wave surfing courses. The most brave of us had to try and believe it or not, our ten year old was the master among us.

The most difficult place to leave
I have nothing but fantastic memories of this holiday! With so much surrounding rural land (cared for by a lovely man who'll tell you about the area if you feel like testing your Portuguese), this was the perfect retreat from everything. Beautiful beaches and cute towns are near enough for good day trips, but much time can be spent happily by the infinity pool, playing table football or getting to know the goats and rabbits kept further down on the property. The house itself is stunning, with very modern but cosy decor. The huge log fire (safely behind glass) was certainly a bonus for the cooler January evenings, while warmer evenings were well spent on the patio, watching the sunset from a great vantage point in the mountains. A standard review doesn't do justice - of course it was clean and well maintained, and a holiday here can be as relaxing or exciting as you make it. It's the little things that make this place special, from the delicious breakfast cheeses provided to the occasional distant sounds from a donkey farm as you lie in the garden. Proof enough is that we made a return visit in the summer, when the weather was glorious and we really made use of the pool and barbecue. If I could go there now, I'd be on the plane already! Go and see what I mean.

The Perfect Getaway
