Almost heaven
As soon as I arrived I quickly unpacked the car, put on my bathing suit and went swimming! Absolutely loved this place. Plenty of space for everyone! Lots of room to spread out. Great view! It was what my soul needed.

Family reunion
This property was perfect for our reunion. Played multiple yard games with the whole crew. The only disappointment was the low water level prevented any good swimming, but a beach 20 minutes away served that purpose very well. It's a wonderful place for a getaway!

Great home in a beautiful location
Our multi-generation family of 13 had a fantastic stay at this large home right on the bay. The house and grounds are well kept with plenty of space for outdoor activities, indoor games, big shared meals, and just relaxing. Dave was super helpful and responsive and so Michigan friendly! Everyone's favorite activity was a pontoon boat rental out of Munising to see Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. 5 stars!

Outside and Inside Fun
We were looking for a place on the water that would accommodate our whole family and our dog. We were not disappointed. We liked that it was tucked away. Plenty of outdoor activities as well as room to enjoy the inside as well. And we really enjoyed our time together out by the campfires at night. Our adult children were able to go to surrounding parks and tour Pictured Rocks while my husband and I enjoyed the time at the house. Our grandchildren enjoyed going into town for ice cream. We made use of everything the property has to offer including daily swims in the lake, kayaking to the nearby island, whiffle ball and volleyball in the yard. Inside we played pool, foosball, table games and used the sauna daily. We also enjoyed our daily breakfasts and dinners together as a family at the house.

Perfect week in the UP
Our family rents a different place "up north" every summer. However, most of us want to come back to Stonington House again next year. Its perfect for all ages, especially the dogs. It's the ideal spot if looking to relax in complete privacy.

Family Camp
This was our second year on this amazing property. We range in age from 1 1/2 years to 63. We brought paddle boards and a small fishing boat and deck boat. Also brought bikes for the kids. There are kayaks, a canoe and a row boat on the property as well as volleyball and basketball. Huge yard for outdoor activity and games. Room for everyone as we are a large group of 19! We love that we feel like we are the only people for miles.

Best Family Vacation Ever
From 80 yrs old to 6, everyone remarked that this was the best family vacation spot ever. Grams, who is mostly immobile could enjoy watching the kids in the water on on the lawn from the deck while everyone enjoyed the deck or the lawn games or the water and kayaks or canoe. Plenty of room to spread out between the 2 houses or have together meals in the main house. Best appointed kitchen of the many rentals that we've experienced! There is no going out, so enjoy cooking. Gorgeous Gas BBQ plus 2 for wood cooking. To of the line stove/oven with convection. Is it opulence? No. Is it quiet, beautiful, a place to enjoy loved ones and see all kinds of wildlife? YES?!! Everyone agreed this was the best family vacation ever.

Far beyond our expectations
We came here for my parents 50th anniversary. All children and grandchildren were there and we couldn’t have a chosen a better place to have this. The Stonington House is definitely one of a kind. The house and property are absolutely beautiful! Most of our time spent was outdoors during the day. There is something to do for everyone. From taking a trail walk to taking the canoe or kayaks out, playing volleyball or just relaxing and taking it all in. Paul and Kim have thought of everything for this house. There were so many items that we packed but never needed because they were already there. From a completely stocked kitchen to outdoor cooking to everything you need for outdoor activities in the shed. Inside were a pool table, foosball table and many games and puzzles. And books!! So many good books! I could go on and on… Lastly, the hosts were wonderful. I can not say this enough! They quickly responded to questions and concerns. And handled them not only professionally but with sincere kindness. We are all already talking about the next trip and are hoping it will be soon! Thank you Paul and Kim for making our 50th anniversary celebration so special!

No internet required
Although equipped with internet, with so much to do and explore, there is no need for it. We spent a week at Stonington House and there was plenty to do to keep us busy at all times of the day. Whether enjoying the beautiful morning sunrises from the amazing deck, biking/hiking the trails in search of critters, playing games/puzzles, or enjoying the water in a multitude of ways, Stonington House has everything you need.

Perfect location for family gathering
We had a wonderful week taking full advantage of the big yard, beautiful lakeshore. There was so many things to do without having to get in the car. The large deck was perfect for birding or to watch a volleyball game. There was plenty of table space for board games every night. Very relaxing location.

Three generations of fun
Excellent accommodations for our large party with something to do for all ages. The large yard provided an area for various games and activities. Calmer water on the bay allowed for exploration of the bay in the provided kayaks. Only downside is there is not a “beach” and water shoes are highly recommended.we thoroughly enjoyed our UP vacation!

Wonderful cabin for relaxation
We had an amazing experience every step of the way! Paul was very easy to reach and provided great information. The property was beautifully maintained and exceeded our expectations. The kids loved playing by the water, we built fires every night and had some time to recharge. The kitchen is well appointed and we cooked every night. We wished we could have stayed longer!

Peaceful
This property was very peaceful! We brought our family here to get away from technology for a while and to enjoy nature. This home is perfect for that. We saw ducks, deer, cranes, bald eagles, skunks, etc. It was a perfect place tucked away in a secluded area. There are two homes on the property connected to one another which was perfect for the adults and kids! Thanks so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home.

Heavenly getaway!
The quality of the property & our stay far exceeded our expectations. The photos of the property & house don't come close to doing justice for how nice everything actually was. The property owner was highly communicative and very gracious, gave us many good ideas of activities for the UP and as a result we had an incredible week of lounging with intimate friends, adventuring, fishing, playing volleyball & having a good time. Cell signal was spotty & no wi-fi available which for us was a blessing. It encouraged us all to unplug & gather closely for warm conversations around the fire. Must haves for this spot: swimming trunks, water shoes, bug spray, fishing gear, books, additional board games, cards & a volleyball!
