Rose cottage is great. It has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. The cottage is in a great location if you would like to hike Girraween national park. The pub serves good food and the wineries are even better. It's the perfect place for a couple of sneaky days away.
This stay in Stanthorpe was for our 44th Wedding Anniversary. Rose Cottage was the perfect spot for us to take time out. It was nice and quiet and was not far from Ballandean Winery where we spent the Saturday at the Vinewayd Party. All our favourite places were not too far away. Thank you to our hosts for providing such a lovely little cottage. We will be back one day.
Terrific , James and Mary-Ann made sure everything was provided. Even went out of their way to help
Very comfortable cottage. Good location for looking at area.

Cosy and comfortable. Lots if firewood.
Fantastic for the price. Great fire. Loved watching the sunsets. Would not recommend pub to eat. Overpriced and took a hour to get our lunch.

Liked: Check-in, communication
Disliked: Location, listing accuracy
Not secluded at all
Sadly it was a really disappointing stay. It’s right next to a house and a stack of yurts. We had two families with young kids staying in the house who chose to run around our cottage at night and early in the mornings.
It didn’t feel private at all like the pictures suggested.
Inside the bed is a Queen not a King as listed. The inside is old and outdated and very basic. The sliding door to the outdoors barely opened and closed. The tiny bar fridge froze everything in it.
You can see the New England Highway from the cottage and hear the traffic.
It was overpriced for what it is and I was so disappointed that this is what I chose for our romantic getaway.
Please add more realistic pictures so people who are booking know exactly what they’re booking.
This is at least our third stay at Rose Cottage. Very comfortable, clean and just right for a couple. Close to wineries, attractions etc. Easy walk to the Tavern for an evening drink too.
The countryside looks lovely after the rain. The gardens around the cottage are delightful.
Recommend for a couple having a weekend away.
Rose Cottage has all that you need for a base to explore Stanthorpe and the granite belt region. It's in a good location a bit out of the hustle and bustle of Stanthorpe and has a well researched guide of attractions, a fireplace and equipped kitchen. There was a bit of a smell outside unfortunately linked to the tanks possibly. The place was very clean and well kept.
James was very great at communicating and made the process so easy. The house was clean and a great little place to get away! Bonus that it was only a 2 min walk to the pub!
Would definitely stay there again!
We had a very relaxing stay which is just what we needed.
The cottage was well and very comfortable. We were supplied with plenty of information to help us plan our stay. We would definitely consider making a return visit.

Gorgeous little cottage in wine country!
We stayed at James' Farmhouse/Rose Cottage for a weekend while celebrating our father's 80th birthday. It was the perfect setting and a weekend we are sure our Dad (and the family) will remember for a while to come.
Our entire family came together from all over Brisbane for the weekend (17 people in total). This quaint little cottage was a godsend for our parents to retreat to leaving the rest of the family at the main house to continue with celebrations.
The cottage is well kept, clean/tidy and a perfect size for 2 people. Not to mention the glorious views over the vineyards (across the road).
Our only regret was not being able to stay longer............
Maybe next time.

We really enjoyed our stay In the rose cottage!
We will definitely be back! Super cute and cosy for a couple wanting to relax and drink wine by the fire at night. Having a stove was convenient, along with the electric blanket. Overall, it was a great experience and we really enjoyed ourselves!

Cosy little cottage.
Rose Cottage in Ballandean was a nice little base for a weekend away.
The location could not have been better. Close to some of the best wineries in the region and walking distance from the Ballandean Tavern for dinner and Le 'Bel Café for breakfast.
The cottage is comfortable, cosy, has a fireplace. little kitchen and fridge to store your loot from a weekend of wine and local produce.
Tempted to free up another weekend before the end of winter and stay again.
