Set in the grounds of Kookaburra Hideaway, the Woodcutter's Shed is a studio with fabulous 4 poster bed, tea/coffee facilities, ensuite bathroom and great views out to fields, mountains and .... you guessed it Kangaroos, in the mornings and evening, with a few cows in the picture as well as they saunter past early morning and evening.

The studio sleeps up to 4.. in the same large room using the four poster bed and 2 sofa beds with all linen supplied.. it is totally self sufficient and eco friendly with off grid energy and rainwater from the sky...

If you are having a wedding at Kookaburra Hideaway this is ideal accommodation for groomsmen or anyone you want closeby...

Also great for a small country outdoor wedding... get married under the woodshed.... very rustic and great for photos...

Beautiful outlook

We had a fantastic couple of days stay with our dog. Contacting the property owners was easy and they were very responsive. The view from our room was amazing.

Great little wine country getaway

Simple but pleasant room with a view and slightly scrappy but clean and refreshing pool. All was good but a microwave and a fridge would be welcome additions so that you didn't have to eat out every meal.

Great Little Gem in the Hunter Valley!

My wife, my dog and I stayed here for the long weekend. The pictures do not do this place justice! It is a great little spot! Andrew and Val were very friendly and very accommodating. We did not have any issues or concerns, but they were always happy to assist.

Rustic enjoyable stay

If you are looking for a rustic, clean, simple and functional stay, then this is a great place. Hosts are great and well thought out experience. Air con, in room wood fore burner, two couches for extra people to sleep. Outdoor secrion with fire pit and seats. If you are looking for a hotel style then this is not your place, but if looking for a well priced, comfortable stay with country surroundings, then this is a great place.

Comfortable and pleasant

Easy access, hosts were very helpful, accommodating and approachable. Would be nice to see just a life milk and a small slab of butter on hand for those (like us) who arrived later than expected. We would all stay again very handy when you have your puppy to consider , ours loved his stay! Everything was as advertised 😊 !

Not. To expectation

Beautiful surrounding . We were told we were upgraded to Wallaby Lodge from the Woodshed at no extra cost. No access to swimming pool was given it wa locked. Although we were promised we could use it. It was so hot with bushfires in some parts of the hiunter valley. We had to wash empty coffee mugs, glasses and half plates in the bathroom sink. On the whole a disappointing stay.

Andrew and Valerie were wonderful hosts. After showing us around and explaining everything about the cabin we had complete privacy. It was a lovely couple of nights and we would definitely stay again.

Peaceful haven

We could only stay for a couple of nights but the tranquility of this rustic haven left us feeling as relaxed as if we had a week away. Perfect flat terrain for our 15 year old dog Paddy and surprisingly spacious and comfortable accomodation with a weather protected outdoor area with seating, a table, dartboard and BBQ. We were pleasantly surprised how many pet friendly wineries there are now in the Hunter Valley these days too, it was great to be able to take our dog inside some of the cellar doors and feel welcomed. The owners of this property Andrew and Val were excellent hosts. Just the right amount of contact to ensure you were settled and had an opportunity to ask anything about the area or the property. The shed is well screened from the main house by an old caravan and you can sit out in an evening in total privacy. Their cute small dogs Bonny, Scruffy and Sunny are clearly well loved and well looked after. We recommend if you take this place for what it is, you will enjoy and hopefully be pleasantly surprised as we were. Pet friendly doesn’t always mean pet friendly but truly does here! Thanks for sharing your original home with us Andrew and Val, hardly a shed, it was just the respite we needed. Best, Andy and Steph

Country haven

We spent a lovely three days here with our cat Zak. The Shed is spacious and comfortable indoors, on suite kitchenette with gas camp stove. There is plenty of undercover outdoor space with BBQ and decorated country kitch for eloping! Andrew and Val are lovely hosts friendly but respectful of privacy. The countryside of the property is truely magical. Situated an easy drive to wineries. We will be back:)
