City of Newport Beach License # SLP12296
Welcome to the Beach House by the Bay.
After decades of vacationing on the legendary Newport Beach peninsula, the owners of this property finally found the perfect vacation home. A home which makes you feel like you are staying on the bay and the beach at the same time. It wasn't easy, but we think if you visit this home, you will see they have captured the essence of both bay and beach living with this fantastic home. You can put your toes in the sand during the day and bar-b-que at night on the balcony overlooking the lights of the bay under a starlit sky. A few short steps from the beach, but miles from the noise and craziness that often ensues in the evening.
To see a video of the home and surrounding area, please go to the bottom of this ad (above the photographs) under “Links to more information.”
This amazing top-story home has been completely remodeled inside and out. From the all new luxurious bedding to the brand-new Whirlpool appliance to the 55 inch Samsung HD Smart TV’s in every room you will be hard pressed to find something that isn’t top of the line and brand new.
You will have no difficulty recognizing the Cape Code style on approach from the street. As you enter the home you will be greeted by a shell-lined walk way, surfboard sky-light and a lovely mural of a simpler time in Newport. The entry was designed to instantly inform the guest that the stress of work, travel and traffic is in the rear-view mirror; it’s vacation time now. Step inside and be greeted by Newport Beach’s most famous icon, John Wayne. Affectionately known around the world as the Duke, beloved in the area for being an open, warm, affable and regular guy around town even while frequently hosting other famous Hollywood personalities. From his house on the harbor to his unique yacht, the Wild Goose the Duke was and remains a prominent fixture in Newport Beach. We hope you enjoy our tribute.
Once inside, you have a choice. Turn to the right and you see an expansive living room with new designer couch and chair with a view of the large screen TV and the harbor. Continue in the same direction and you will be greeted by the gentle humming of the deck of the Boat House on the Bay. Trust us, you will feel the magnetic pull to journey through the French doors and sit on the deck in the brand new outdoor sofa and chairs and take in the beauty of Newport Island directly across the channel. Or perhaps focus on the water and watch the ducks or listen to the singing of the Gondolier as he maneuvers a gondola through the channel.
Or, turn to the left and hold on as your blood pressure tumults and your dream beach vacation unfolds. You will be greeted by an open and expansive dining area which with its nautical theme and shell lamp should remind you of an open southern California beach. Behind that is as a cheerful kitchen fully stocked with the finest appliances, dishes and silverware on the Peninsula. Perhaps most importantly, a new microwave, refrigerator and Keurig for the mornings. Turn south towards the Newport Beach Pier and behind barn doors you will find a guest bedroom suite with oak closet, bay view window, retractable brand new Samsung HD TV under a lovely ceiling fan.
In the middle is a room that can only be described as a kids delight with the bunk bed, patriotic décor and X-box 360 set up on the new Samsung Smart television. From the bow to stern, this room is outfitted to provide kids with comfort and memories no matter how large or small your group. Exit the kids’ paradise and move towards Catalina Island and you will find an opulent master bedroom equipped with a ceiling fan, oak closet, sitting chair and another new Samsung Smart TV. Please throw open the shutters and enjoy the view of the Pacific, but more perhaps, the sound of the crashing waves, seals barking and simple beach-living. Also, if you haven’t already, kick off those shoes and put on the flip-flops.
As much as we hope you relax and enjoy the home, there is too much to do to spend all your time indoors. Please grab the brand new Tommy Bahama chairs and beach towels and walk the two short blocks to the beach. The walk takes no more than a couple of minutes and lands you on one of the premier beach spots in southern California for vacationers. This stretch of beach between the life guard towers of 40th and 44th streets is barred for surfing almost year-round. This makes it a perfect spot for kids, body surfers and boogie borders to enjoy the water. Of course, if you are here to surf, you already know this is as close to mecca as you can find in Orange County. Drop us a line if you want to know the spots, otherwise, we’ll keep that information as quiet as possible. If you really want to see some big waves, travel down the Peninsula and visit the world-famous Wedge where the harbor opens to the Pacific.
There is no shortage of activities on and off the water. We encourage you to rent bikes or walk along the strand or on the sand and explore the Peninsula. Perhaps nowhere else in California will you find an area with more beach, parks, dining and pure fun. If you don’t feel like walking or biking maybe you would like to rent a Duffy electric boat or kayaks and check out the harbor. We are certain you will enjoy a sunset cruise and stop at one of any number of fantastic restaurants where you can dock your boat and enjoy a cocktail or meal with a fantastic view of the bay.
From the spectacular cliffs of Newport Coast to the charm of Corona del Mar to Fashion Island shopping to a walk around Balboa Island and a ferry ride to the Fun Zone, there are countless things to do to keep you busy. Or you can just sunbathe on the beach or the deck and read a book. One thing is for certain, from “taco joints” to 5 Star restaurants, there is no better place to dine out in a casual setting no matter how fine the faire. This is the beach so please give us a visit and kick back, relax and have a great time.
The City of Newport Beach has advised that it may begin installing underground cables on the Peninsula. We don’t anticipate any guest disruptions, but traffic around the home may be impacted.
A transient Occupancy Tax of 10% shall be charged at the completion of the booking transaction as well as a visitor service fee, if any (VRBO does not charge a visitor service fee)
