POLEHOUSE COTTAGE - located at Hunter Valley

Sit back and enjoy a sunset over the best view in the Hunter Valley with a glass of wine or treat yourself to a dip in your own private spa. The Polehouse Cottage, only 2hrs out of Sydney is a relaxing way to escape the rush of modern day life. The cottage is located on a large property in Rosebrook, 15 minutes outside of Maitland city centre.
It has 2 bedrooms consisting of1 king and 1 queen beds. Features include a deck and barbeque overlooking the Hunter River, private spa and fireplace.
Access to the Polehouse is via a dirt driveway and thus may not be suitable for sports cars or vehicles with low ground clearance. Please keep the gate closed during your stay so that the cattle cannot enter the yard.

Opera in the Vineyards and other events at Hope Estate, 30 mins away.
Lovedale and Pokolbin Vineyards from 30 mins away.
Historic Town of Morpeth a Hunter River settlement is approx 20 mins away.
Barrington Tops National Park is approx 45 mins - 1hr away.

The beautiful beaches and dolphin cruises of Nelson Bay are only 1hr away.

Firewood will be provided between May and September to help warm the cottage in the evenings.

Fresh County Air, Fantastic View
Just what was needed to get away from the city for some fresh air and relaxation. Well laid out floor plan with the kids room on one side and our room on the other… Fire place kept the place nice and warm with a comfortable lounge to stretch out on. The jacuzzi unfortunately didn’t get a go but would have been very nice. Was warm to touch so maybe next time. Could have done with an extra towel each for the second night and perhaps some slight maintenance here and there but hey, now we’re splitting hairs… Overall a pleasant setting, beautiful location for some nature walks, we didn’t have the weather on our side. Nick is very friendly, as you’d expect from the country. Thank you for the country taste and love the cow’s mate. :)

We had a lovely 2 night stay at Polehouse Cottage providing us with the opportunity to disconnect and enjoy some fresh country air. The house and spa were perfectly clean with comfy warm beds and an indoor fire that was sufficient heating. We’d definitely stay here again.

The pole house was a great getaway to recharge yourself. It would of been nice to know about the sealed road not going all the way up. It was muddy, slippery and a lot of potholes and rocks. The gas bottle ran out while we were cooking and there was no spare

Location a little difficult to find on map apps (e.g. Waze). Could have done with slightly more detail about turning off the main road. Great views. Place had everything we needed for our stay, was very clean although a little run down, with torn fly screens that were also difficult to slide. Also 2 broken window panes & door lock worn. However, overall, happy with the accommodation & responsive host. Adequate Optus mobile coverage around the site. Not sure if other basic provisions beyond tea, coffee & sugar e.g. cooking oil, seasonings, sauces etc are provided or if they were left by previous guests. Welcome folder could maybe itemise standard items provided

Relaxation on the mountain
My wife and i stayed for 3 nights and had a well overdue very relaxing stay. The spa on the deck is a winner, just time it right as in summer it can get quite hot. A bit of shade over it could make it even better. Had a visit from some cows, wallabies and a goanna. Loved it. We would do it again.

Weekend Getaway
A beautiful, peaceful property to stay. Wanted to get away for a weekend and this is was the perfect place to relax. Leave the curtains open at night and have a beautiful view of the stars. Location was close enough to get essentials if you forgot anything and far enough from the other property with good privacy. The hot spa was the cherry on top of the stay. Thank you Nicholas for a fantastic stay! Will definitely be coming back ☺️

Lovely rural getaway …
We had a lovely time. The property is rustic and rural - just exactly what we wanted very comfortable, king-size bed, hot, shower, fireplace, country, views, comfy, couch what more could you want? We even got a visit from the curious neighbouring cows, who let us say hello. Well appointed. Would love to come back as it’s great for Hunter Valley exploration.

Gorgeous cottage, generous size, beautiful views. Would definitely stay again. The only issue was when we stayed (July 2023) the spa had no steps to get in/out so anyone who was vertically challenged or has mobility issues could struggle. But definitely loved the place.

There wasn't toilet paper
There where only one toilet paper which was done by the first day because there was 4 of us and there wasn't any spare so we had to buy one and also no napkins which was annoying but overall was great place.
