About this property

Close to the Chattooga, outdoor adventures and Chattooga Belle Farm!

Tree Hugger's delight! Nestled in a hardwood forest on 8 acres with minimal neighbors. This rental is NOT the entire house - it's the lovely ground floor apartment with a separate entrance. It has 9 foot ceilings, and a huge (12 x 46) covered porch with hammock, grill and outdoor shower.

Finished in late 2016, the small kitchen has refrigerator with icemaker, microwave, dishwasher and electric stove. Two large, private bedrooms are separated by a generous living/dining area with a charming gas fireplace.

Free wifi! Only broadcast tv reception by antenna, but bring your devices for streaming. We have Amazon Prime, Hulu and Netflix for you to watch.

This rental is NOT handicap accessible, due to the steep gravel entrance path.

If you will be getting in late and want me to leave the porch light on for you, please let me know!

Tree Hugger review
This property is in an enchanted forest full of birds. It's private & quiet & located near trails. The inside is very comfortable with just the right amount of space. The covered patio is large & the view is all forest. The three of us were very pleased with the experience.

Great getaway
We intentionally selected this property because we wanted to be in a bit more remote/woodsy location and this was perfevt. Convenient to waterfalls, whitewater and only 20 mins from Clayton, GA. Karina was so kind and helpful and the best host!

Perfect location and setting for Chattooga rafting
We were looking for a place for our family of 5 to stay that felt like a retreat and was located near the Chattooga rafting outfitters. We were pleased with the amenities and the location. Would stay again and recommend.

Lovely home
We had a great time here! Everything was pristine when we arrived, instructions for check out were very clear, and the place is so secluded. Katrina was very easy to communicate with as well. We loved it and would visit again!

Stress is all gone and spirits fully renewed! Better than a spa vacation.
Just what the doctor ordered. Peace and quiet in the deep woods with all the comforts of home. Great accommodations include high tech options if you want them. I especially enjoyed the extra, open air shower that really made me feel at one with nature and the hammock that was just perfect for napping. If you want that back-to-nature feeling with ALL the comforts, this is the place for you. Stress is all gone and spirits fully renewed.

Warm & Inviting
Such a lovely spot for a weekend getaway! The accommodations were comfortable, clean and inviting. We arrived late afternoon and enjoyed a fire in the fireplace, a movie, and popcorn. The next two days we explored the area, hiking along the Chattooga River and visiting Chattooga Belle Farm. There are so many waterfalls nearby! Enjoying the view of the woods surrounding the rental while relaxing in the hammock on the porch was a perfect way to relax. The owner made this getaway hassle-free and provided great information on local attractions and restaurants. We'll be back!

Wonderful!
This spot truly is a gem, hiding in the mountains. The downstairs living quarters is clean, quiet, and bright. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and the kitchen is well equipped. Additionally, the owner was pleasant and responsive to work with. Each room has large windows that look out into the woods, which creates a tranquil vibe. The windows are also equipped with privacy curtains if you're looking to catch up on some sleep past sunrise. The coolest thing is there's an outdoor shower! The area has hiking trails, rafting, and numerous mountains and waterfalls to explore. The quarters is equipped with a guide to local restaurants and activities, which was very helpful. I HIGHLY recommend this little getaway. When we return to the area, we will definitely be booking here again!

About the host

Hi! I moved into my newly-built cabin in the woods in February, 2016. I decided to finish the walkout basement so I have plenty of room for family when they come to visit. I completed it in November, 2016. It seems silly to have it sit empty most of the time, so I decided to share my little bit of heaven as a vacation rental - and of course, recoup some of my costs.

I love this area for the paddling, hiking, trout fishing and just for its general beauty. And this community is full of wonderful people.

I hope you explore and get to know the area!

Why they chose this property

If you like trees and seclusion, this may be the property for you! Nestled on 8 acres in between the Chattooga and Chauga rivers, there is plenty of opportunity nearby for whitewater rafting, trout fishing, hiking and just enjoying the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

What makes this property unique

No need to bring bottled water unless you just love it - enjoy the delicious straight-from-the-tap mountain water from private well with whole-house water filter.
