Great location with a nice view. Rustic upstairs and remodeled downstairs, perfect to meet everybody’s taste. Wildlife and quiet atmosphere.
I would recommend moving the TV to the downstairs for two reasons. First there is more room for a family to hang out and cooler. Secondly, it is somewhat out of sight and may be used less and let nature be the entertainment.

Liked: Check-in, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
Loved Ennis. Hated the Bugs in the house.
House is old and needs sealed up. Western conifer seed bugs. Relative of a stink bug. Soon as we turned on the heat. They came from everywhere. They said it was a Montana thing. I think it was just way too easy for them to get in. Had to spend the first night in a hotel. No one offered to reimburse us. Also, millipedes. It would have been great if not for the bugs. We saw a couple of mentions of bugs in the reviews but never expected the sheer volume of them, bugs on the bed or find them crawling on us while watching tv. That was our experience. Hope yours is better.
This beautiful cabin is appropriately called a Hideaway, because it's a retreat from the world. To sit on the spacious shaded porch overlooking the Madison River and the Rockies in the evening with silence but the wind blowing is heaven.
The cabin is fully equipped with more than you'll need, except food of course, and we were impressed with the quality of everything, including the attention to minute detail; even a fully filtered pitcher of water in the fridge.
I could go on about the wonderful shower, including the nearly instant hot water from a water heater that never seemed to run low.
We slept in both upstairs and downstairs bedrooms and the upstairs loft was my favorite, partly because I could open the windows wide and let the cool wind blow head to toe. My sleep was amazing.
We cooked out twice on the downstairs porch. The gas grill was clean, is in good shape, and there was an extra propane can. I turned the rig around so I could grill while facing the mountains, but I replaced it such that they'll never know ;)
Nothing was broken. The washer/dryer are in great condition and were such a bonus.
Disregard the ominous notes on the fridge about what to do when the wifi goes out. Simply unplug and replug the 5 plugs in the power strip behind the TV and wait a couple minutes.
Even the dishes and utensils are nice. The owners have a beautiful vacation home in this cabin, and it's a tremendous blessing that they share it with others. It felt like our own home within a couple days, so after 8 days we didn't want to leave.
Careful care was taken in the cleanliness of the entire cabin. Thank you!! We didn't wash a single dish or pan before we used them. Don't buy coffee filters. You don't need them. Ever.
Watch your head walking downstairs or upstairs. If you're not paying attention, each direction holds its own mercilessly unyielding wooden beam situated horizontally across the top of your head. Fair warning.
If you're looking to get away from everything except an occasional beautiful animal (we saw a magnificent antelope in the front and some deer in the back), here's my recommendation:
I give this cabin and the owners my very highest rating. Ever.
We thoroughly enjoyed the stay, and the location was top-notch. It's just close enough to town to grab groceries as needed. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the wildlife, including Prarie dogs, Antelope, Rabbits, and even a Badger. I can only imagine what it would be like to live here all the time.
House is wonderfully located to enjoy peace and quiet. We saw wildlife from the deck. Nice scenic drive to Yellowstone. House had all the amenities to make cooking meals easy. We would definitely stay here again!
Amazing view of mountains does not begin to describe the view from deck. Every hour the colors are changing. Excellent food in town. Did I mention fishing?
We loved this place! The view and the location were perfect! We will be back!
Kathy was so easy to work with, the property had everything we needed and she responded to all our questions quickly.

Beautiful quaint cabin with incredible views
This quaint cabin was perfect for our stay! It had fantastic views and super comfortable beds. The property was clean and we really enjoyed our stay! It is about 20 minutes from town and about an hour and 15 mins from Yellowstone, and plenty of close fishing spots! I would recommend it to others, perfect for a family or a few friends!

Very cute cabin, stunning view, comforts of home!
We are actually still heading home at this moment, but I wish we didn't have to go! The cabin was perfect for our small group. Home-like amenities, nicely stocked kitchen and plenty of extra bedding. The beds were the most comfortable I've had in a rental by far! Even the hide-a-bed my kids slept on was comfortable! The washer and dryer were a perfect and welcome comfort that we were grateful for also.
The views of the mountains, wildlife nearby and river were impressive. There were plenty of area maps and magazines, and the location and proximity to Yellowstone, Bozeman and Virginia City was great!
The driveway may prove tricky if it snowed a ton, but we were definitely happy with the seclusion.
Additionally, Kathy was a wonderful property manager. We had discovered some issues with dead insects the first day (common in log homes) and with one call she was over and cleaning the place from top to bottom! Then she continued to stay in contact to ensure we were comfortable and happy. Her pup Maggie even visited and entertained my kids and was a well behaved visitor.
We will definitely keep this place in mind for future family getaways!
Thank you for the hospitality!

Very pleasant and beautiful place to stay.
Great place to stay, with a beautiful view of the Madison Valley! Quiet, peaceful, but not to secluded! Easy access to Ennis and spots to fly fish up and down the Madison River. Antelope, deer and even a family of Hungarian Partridge paid us a visit!! Highly recommended for a couple or up to 4!!
