Loved the Dewey Beach we had access to and the neighborhood of the house. We were a little nervous the house was so close to Rt 1 but it never bothered us once we were settled in. We were also very thankful for the Sunday-Sunday week to avoid traffic. Very fun stay!
The quaint cottage was so perfect and quaint! The house was very clean and in a great location to walk to restaurants and the beach. We didn’t even have to get in the car! Our group was a group of adults however I could see how this cottage would be great for a family with young kids. The yard was great to play yard games in. The owner was very personable and was very easy to reach out to! I will definitely be staying here again!
The house is easy to be in and only 3 blocks to the beach. So nice to stay in an older home. Elizabeth is in process of fixing some things up so it will be revamped for next season. Overall quiet place at Rehoboth Dewy.
This cottage is very charming, quick walk to the beach and to downtown Dewey. The rooms are nice sized and the house is very well equipped with beach supplies, chairs and a nice umbrella! The living room furniture and bedspreads should be updated though, very dated and faded. New pillows are needed for the beds, we went to the local store and bought our own.
Wonderful family stay at the beach. Everything bike-able or walkable. Everyone loved the vintage beach house vibes and cozy yard with eating lounging area and outdoor shower. Inside was roomy, comfy, and had everything anyone could need. We had so much fun cooking as a family . Great layout . We all loved it.

Could have been better
This place has potential, but it fell short in a number of ways. The house is much older than the photos suggest and there is peeling paint in several rooms. We arrived a little before check in and the group parked and headed off to the beach. I stayed behind and was surprised that the cleaners hadn't been to the house yet. Although there were 3 cleaners, the cleanliness of the house was subpar. The house had nice high ceilings and the two bedrooms downstairs were lovely. My mother thought the queen bed was comfortable and the same was said by my brother and sister in-law of the king bed. The consensus of beds upstairs were that they needed replacement. Communication with the property owner was okay, but not great. Items weren't updated in the VRBO app and I didn't receive a welcome email (although it was apparently sent), but the owner was responsive to a phone call. I had to leave early due to storm damage at my house, but the remaining family member said they also enjoyed the yard for cooking outside and thought the walk to the beach was not far.
Good distance for 6 year old to walk to a less crowded area on Dewey beach. Nice large table set up for family dining (8 people). Available beach equipment was convenient. Backyard was nice, but no direct entry from house.
Had a great time at Elizabeth’s house! She even stopped by to fix the outdoor shower head and some other things the previous tenants had broken! House is older with lots of character and very clean. We were able to bring our pup along and she loved walks to the beach. Wonder even supplied a dog license for the beach. Would absolutely stay again.
Wonderful spot to reunite with my kids for first time since Covid-19. Walk to beach, close to Boardwalk. Comfortable and spacious accommodations. Owner very responsive. Did not realize we had to bring or rent our own sheets, but found enough to make do. Hope to return!
This is a lovely cottage which is an easy walk to the beach. It is clean and perfect for a family vacation. Great care has been taken to outfit the kitchen, as well as providing beach chairs, an umbrella, and beach toys. 100's of VHS tapes and 2 VCR's are available plus board games etc for rainy days. The owner answers questions quickly. We had a good time and will return next time we vscation there.
Home was nicely decorated and clean. Beds were comfortable. Beach was conveniently located and neighborhood was quiet. Easy bike to Rehoboth boardwalk and shops.
Overall, this was a great property and served the needs of our group wonderfully. The only thing that I would comment on is the bed situation- we were expecting trundle beds, and the extra beds in the larger rooms were more just mattresses or cushions on the floor. Other than that, everything as listed was exactly what we expected! The house was spacious and close to the beach. Easy to get to Dewey bars/restaurants (about 10-15 minute walk) or quick uber ride. Elizabeth was very responsive and helpful in ensuring all of our plans for the trip.

Nice place. Clean and very roomy and only a couple short blocks to the beach!
We’ve stayed here for a week or more the last 3 years and always loved it. There’s a ton of room for lots of people and a nice sun room too. We’ll be staying here for a long time to come.

A lovely beach house
This is an older beach house with lots of character and charm. There were some deficiencies such as lack of AC in the upstairs bathroom. A larger bed in the upstairs double would be desirable. All in all it is charming and we enjoyed our stay.

Fabulous house & close to the beach!
This was our second year of vacationing at Elizabeth's Rehobeth beach house. 2 great experiences! It's on Carolina and only 3 short blocks to the beach. You can also walk to Dewey or Rehobeth. Dewey is only a few short blocks! Rehobeth is a little farther but you can hop on the trolley shuttle if you do prefer. Everything is so easily accessible. Even parking! We park 2 cars in the driveway and there's a parking pass for a 3rd car.
The house is very well kept up, clean, and very roomy - 2 full bathrooms, 4 bedrooms and multiple beds and tons of extra sleeping accommodations for my 2 brothers and I and our 3 families. There's a big kitchen with a dinette, a large living room, a nice sun room and a great yard for sunbathing and cooking outside (there's an outdoor grill). There's also an outdoor shower. Word has it there will be a screened in porch next year. My wife is a screen porch fanatic, so she's really excited about that!
We all love the house! We've vacationed annually in Rehobeth and Dewey for 48 years! My parents started the tradition when I was barely a teen. We had stayed on Carolina for decades - in a house on the beach Block. New owners doubled the price so we started searching for something more reasonable. Many hours of searching resulted in finding this particular beach house. What a find! Next year will be our 3rd year for sure!

Fun near the beach
We stayed in the cottage to celebrate our French Exchange Student's 17th birthday. He also brought along another exchange student from Turkey. They had a terrific time because of the close proximity to the beach and board walk. Our dogs enjoyed the stay and even ventured to the beach for dog hours. We had the opportunity to meet Elizabeth and she was great. Good communication and very accommodating. We hope to stay again in the future!

Perfect for our needs
This house was so charming and the location was incredible. We have a one year old and a dog so we needed a place that was child and pet friendly and this place was a perfect match. There was plenty of space for all of us. The location was key. It was only 3 blocks to the beach so we could walk from the house, and less than a five minute drive to downtown. We actually could have walked along the beach to get to the boardwalk in Rehoboth if we really wanted to. We were even a few minutes away from the Tot Lot near Silver Lake so our son could play.
The owner was amazing and did all she could to accommodate us, even replying to our texts while on vacation in Greece!
We would definitely stay here again!

our stay at the green granny
We loved staying here. The house is very comfortable and a short walk to the beach. The best part was having no TV or internet for a whole week. We cooked in the large and well stocked kitchen every night.
The only drawback is the noise from the road... but we tuned it out after the first couple of days, and we would stay here again. Thanks, Elizabeth!

Quaint and Family Friendly
I have visited this house numerous times. It's location is great if you want to go out in either Rehoboth or Dewey. Walking distance to many restaurants and bars. Not a far walk to the boardwalk. Plenty of space for a larger family. Close to the beach and the dogs love to go for walks in the morning. Such a cute historic beach house.

Relaxing Vacation Spot!
I love Rehoboth and have been visiting this property for several years now. The area is quiet and family friendly, but close enough to downtown areas for a fun night out. My dogs enjoy walking to the beach early in the morning, and afterwards they are tired enough to be calm and quiet for remainder of the day. Its also a great place for the kids; a safe area with lots of room to play after a day full of sun. The house itself is very spacious and beautiful... charming and historic (which lends so much character!). I hope that we have the opportunity to go back this summer!

Our Favorite Beach Home
A summer week at the Cottage has become a family favorite. The house is full of charm and is very spacious and comfortable. While close to the highway we find it very peaceful and have never had a noise problem. It's only a short walk to the beach and chairs are provided by the owners. It's an easy walk along the beach to the Rehobeth boardwalk where we go for dinner and our kids spend the evening taking in the rides and playing in the arcades. Bikes are available and the quiet neighborhood streets are fun to ride through. This is a laid back and relaxing place to spend an unplugged vacation with family and friends! Can't wait to get back to the Cottage!

A welcome retreat
Our stay at this warm and spaciously cozy cottage was a delight. we loved the quiet cul de sac with easy walks to the beach, corner store and boardwalk. A perfect place for long quiet walks, the kinds of conversations you don't make time for during the every day business of life. A great kitchen for morning coffee on the sun porch or a fancier evening meal. Its clear the cottage could sleep a crowd, but it also a perfect place for a get away for a few. We found it clean and comfortable and everything worked as it was supposed to. We are looking forward to our next opportunity!
About the host
Hosted by Elizabeth Russell
AS young mothers in 1980 my best friend and I shared a week in this cottage and every summer following until we could afford a week each (then we both went for both) with our no longer toddlers..in 1998 tho old babes that owned it decided to sell and we feared they'd sell to a non-renting family SO we put our pennies together with my oldest by then an officier in the USMC and we purchased and continued to rent to the same families--now we are the old babes and the grandchildren of the first wave are renting from us..Won't you join us and visit our Green Granny Cottage for an old-fashioned summer vacation--a walk to the beach, bird watch, barbeque, catch fireflys and 'kick-the-can' on the cul-de-sac.
Why they chose this property
This is ideal for walkers-Silver Lake is a wildbird refuge one street away, or at the end of our cul-de-sac--you can walk north on the beach and shortly reach the beginning of the Boardwalk that leads to the Amusements and Beach treats galore or you can walk south following the side walk and reach the Rusty Rudder for Sunset on the bay drinks, live music and a chance to dance reggae with a toddler, your teen or gramps...as well as the tanned and terrific...plus the jolley trolley and the bike taxis go right by the street corner on which we sit.
What makes this property unique
The most wonderful benefit is the sea air filling up the 12 ft ceilinged rooms and the ceiling fans, and the 10 ft windows, screened (or shut for the central air) just providing a light feeling away from the ringing of phones (if you turn them off) and the demands of the non-family work a day world. Here you can shop the discounts or sit and read listening to the ocean or build sand castles or just walk the ocean edge...it is very restful and convenient enough to the activity centers, water parks, golf, bumper cars etc for the young and the restless to entertain themselves in safety protected by a walking constabulary which seems to employ ALL the local young people/teens not occupied as lifeguards or in the shops and restaurants. Its a treat to visit a simpler place and time.
