"Treetops" is a little touch of heaven! Away from the hustle and bustle - the office desk or the paddocks - our unique house offers an escape that is both functional and picturesque. This truly beautiful property, nestled in a tropical garden, offers a quiet getaway only six minutes walk from Durras beach in the Murramarang National Park.
The attractive cedar house is well laid out with quality furnishings and comprises two upstairs bedrooms with one King and one Queen bed. Downstairs there is a rumpus room with bunks and Queen bed, entertainment unit with TV and DVD and a second bathroom. The external staircase to the rumpus room downstairs is covered and leads from the decking area - children over 5 yrs love this room as it gives them a sense of adventure!
Visitors will enjoy a well-equipped open plan kitchen and living area which has very recently been extended. This has enhanced the views to the garden and allows more light to filter in. The renovations open out to an extended and very spacious deck complete with barbeque, market umbrella and outdoor furniture. Inside there is a great range of adult and children's DVDs, CDs, books, games and activities to suit all ages and interests.
Our house is very private and very quiet.
There is no town water in Durras so that rainwater is collected for house usage and restrictions such as short showers and guests providing their own towels and linen, are requested. Despite having to be mindful of water, you will find there are many attractions to this beautiful environment. Magnificent parrots, pigeons, bower birds and finches alight the deck providing interesting photographic opportunities and the enjoyment of feeding our bird life and the odd cheeky possum! Kangaroos and their joeys are constant visitors as well as the very occasional goanna and a resident, non-venomous diamond python!
Over the last 13 years we have welcomed lots of families and couples from all parts of the globe to our home which has many of the extras we know you will enjoy. Do come and try Durras - we think 'Treetops' is the pick of the bunch!

Thank you". 25/09/2008

"We had a great time, much too short a stay. The house is set up beautifully, just like a well-equipped treehouse. Love the tropical feel, the birds sitting on my arm, the surrounding beaches, closeness to the Bay and Mogo Zoo, Pebbly Beach - too much to list. Paradise placed right in the middle! Can't wait to come back!" 25/6/09

"We enjoyed this very friendly holiday oasis with the chirpy enthusiasts on the balcony! Having lived in South AFrica we also were charmed by the many touches from that part of the world. And of course, just a stroll to the fabulous Durras Beach. Its been great." 13/12/10

What a lovely peaceful spot! My boys had a wonderful time feeding the birds. I was worried they would become so fat they wouldn't be able to fly anymore! 26/3/12
What to do in South Durras
South Durras is one of many beautiful beaches along the south coast located in the Murramarang National Park. The scope to venture out and explore this magnificent coastline is limitless. You can take a bike or simply walk the tracks to find these hidden gems. On the other hand, you might simply want to stay and relax in peace and tranquillity at beautiful 'Treetops'. Winter is the perfect time for doing this with the fire to keep you cosy and the opportunity to snuggle up with a good book or your special person!
Although there is no restaurant in South Durras, if you want to enjoy a meal out or breakfast next to the sea, Batemans Bay is not far away and also has an array of shops, movie theatres, galleries and sporting venues. Fishing is plentiful in Durras along the beach or off the rocks. You might be lucky enough to watch a pod of dolphins or even whales in springtime. The lake provides a perfect opportunity for kayaking and the calm waters are ideal for toddlers. I am told that the skate park at South Durras is excellent and is being upgraded. Swimming and walking opportunities are bountiful. And if you enjoy birding or 'twitching' you have a perfect spot at 'Treetops' to watch and enjoy!
