The property owner is so thoughtful with all that she has prepared this little cabin with. The setting is gorgeous and the cabin is so clean and well kept. We plan to make our visot here an annual event we loved it so much 😊

This was a little slice of heaven and the property owner went above and beyond to make the cabin comfortable for us. I will definitely be back again!

An absolutely gorgeous natural setting, comfy cabin with all the fun extras you would want: campfire supplies, cornhole, volleyball and badminton, trails for walking and amazing Elk Creek to play in and rock hunt. Every detail considered!
This was an excellent place to stay for the quiet and relaxation needed on our trip. The dogs loved exploring. We had everything we needed and the some. We would certainly stay there again!
My wife and I had a great time just relaxing in and around the cabin during our stay. During the heat of the day the AC kept the cabin cool. When outside we enjoyed taking a paddle boat on a crystal clear pond with an island in the middle. The river is super refreshing to wade into when it’s hot. Also a very nice and shaded bird trail to walk with several benches to sit on. The cabin came stocked with coffee, bottled water, and snacks. Meggen met us when we arrived and was very helpful in giving us a “lay of the land” from the front porch. In the evening my wife and I sat outside reading books and listening to the creek and birds. The time to leave came too soon, so we will definitely come back again sometime.
We rented this cabin in addition to the Elk Barn Inn on the same property and it was fantastic. We had a big group and we all had plenty of space and enjoyed the beautiful property with so many neat amenities!
Stayed at this property to explore the area needing only a warm place to crash at night for me and a friend. The location is convenient yet tucked back in a peaceful setting with easy access. Even with the 4 days of rain roads were good enough for cars. The cabin lacked nothing-from snacks to a cribbage board I was blown away by all the things the host had though of to provide. Deer out front, turkeys in the hills, and a stream out back what more could you ask for.
We spent two days in the Cowboy Cabin, and what a delight it was. Everything was spotless and so clean. On top of that Meggen has thought of absolutely everything you would ever need. Keurig coffee maker with all sorts of coffees and creamers, teas and honey, popcorn and treats, just to name a few. Internet was great and my kiddos enjoyed Netflix on the Tv. We are a family of six, and Meggen made sure we were comfortable with two extra cots and special sleeping bags. Bed was so comfortable and sheets smelled lovely clean. I would definitely recommend this cabin getaway. So peaceful and beautiful. I hope we can go back again soon. Thank you again Meggen!!!
The host was quick to respond and waiting for us at the cabin. She was informative and friendly. We loved the cabin and plan on coming back! We really enjoyed visiting the horses and yaks. The pond was a nice addition with the paddle boats, kayaks and paddle board. There’s also a creek. There’s a lot included for the money, definitely a good value.
Wow! This property is beyond beautiful! Meggen was very helpful and accommodating. My son enjoyed visiting the creek and the pond on the property. We loved our dinner at the Floating Restaurant in Hope (about 35 minutes away). We would love to plan a family reunion and stay in the Barn. Thank you for sharing your beautiful property with us!!
The cabin was clean & fully stocked with extra amenities. The owner was very accommodating & check in/out process was simple. The kids enjoyed the creek, wildlife & nature trails on the property. Would recommend.
We chose the Elk Barn for our yearly student retreat. We anticipated a warm and inviting venue and relaxing location after viewing the pictures and reading the reviews. What we didn't anticipate was that the property greatly exceed our expectations! First, Meggen is a perfect host. She was quick to offer help and to make sure our stay was the best it could be. She helped us sort out what rooms would be best for our large group and helped us settle in. The "Barn" was impeccably clean and equipped with every necessary amenity and then some; fully stocked Keurig's throughout the house, snacks, breakfast foods, etc. Too many little touches to list. The dining room, incredible kitchen, cozy and comfortable lounge areas on the main floor and middle floor and theatre room on the top floor could not have been better for a group our size. The property is serene and a beautiful place to relax. There are several locations outside to hang out in groups; around the fire pit, pond, creek, and covered patio areas complete with beautiful patio furniture and group games. I HIGHLY recommend the Elk Barn and look forward to our next visit.
This is hands down one of the best places I've ever had the pleasure of staying. The property is a beautiful ranch on 200 some acres, tucked into a mountain bowl of evergreen trees. It backs up onto a Montana sized creek and the sound of the crystal clear water trickling over the green, purple, and blue rocks can be heard from the cabin when the surrounding world is quiet - which was almost all the time during our stay. The cabin itself is as pictured, cozy with very thoughtful amenities and a comfy bed. My spouse and I stayed with our dog Whisky who probably enjoyed this place more than us. I've never seen her happier.
The cabin is about 300 yards from a large restored barn that I believe functions as another rental property. There are also two places for RVs to park nearby and some of the outdoor amenities (fire pit, bathroom, etc) are shared. The property was empty during our trip so we had run of the place, but even at full capacity it is all laid out so perfectly that it'd be hard to imagine ever feeling like you didn't have lots of privacy if you wanted it. Lastly, if you're inclined for cold water swimming there is a great swimming hole on site, and they have several horses you can ride along the fire roads with a guide for an additional fee.
I couldn't recommend this host or property more highly. We absolutely loved this place and will be back, hopefully very soon and with a bunch of friends. Meegan, you are wonderful, thank you for your hospitality and for creating such a unique experience.
This cabin is in a beautiful setting, tastefully decorated and comes with so many thoughtful extra amenities (snacks, extra toiletries, etc.). Super dog-friendly property including treats and a dog bed! WIFI works great too! Our group of 4 adults was very comfortable since the small space is so organized and we spent a lot of time outside. The pullout bed was also very comfortable but might be a little short for bigger adults than my husband and I, but it worked great for us and our lovely host made sure to communicate this to us. We can’t wait to go back!
We had an incredible stay. The cabin is pretty, in one of the most stunning locations we’ve ever stayed at. The little river by the cabin kept our kids occupied for hours. We heard birds singing at all times, watched deers and even a small bear, and enjoyed the peace and 360 degree views. The WiFi was really good which allowed us to work (and was a little unexpected given how remote the location is). Meggen thought about everything, she was an incredibly thoughtful host, the cabin was super well stoked up. We’ll be back!
