My husband, adult son and I had a very relaxing 4 days at this lake house. My dog especially loved swimming in the lake. The house was located in a nice part of Maine with Hallowell and Winthrop, two towns with lots of restaurants, only @15 minutes away. We would definitely stay here again.
Charming lake cottage with fantastic lake views/access. Loved jumping into the lake from the dock each morning for a swim. BBQ, fire-pit and corn hole in the evenings for sunset were a perfect ending to a Maine lake camp day. Thank you!
On the plus side, this is located right on the lake, nice to sit out along the water or on the dock. Nice views from living room and pretty quiet end of the lake. Fully applianced kitchen including dishwasher, and stackable washer & dryer are helpful. Could use better cookware for in-unit meal prep. Bedrooms are small but ok, one had oddly high box spring and mattress so had to jump up to get into bed. Unfortunately, there was an odor of skunk in one of the bedrooms that did not dissipate; when contacted the owners were responsive and brought more odor eaters and sprays, but they were inconsistent about when or how that happened. Repeated use of a window fan and constant spraying along with the odor eaters helped but it was an unpleasant aspect of our stay. I would not rent this cottage again.
The view of the sunset on the lake is wonderful. And the house is fully furnished. But the place is more down-on-its-heels than the photos or the price would indicate.
Clean! Wonderful lakefront! Sunsets to die for!! Hosts amenable and responsive- well supplied- great dock for kids to run off- can I please come back???
The lake is beautiful- lovely sunsets. David was a great host. He met us there at check in and made sure we were set for our visit. Clean, all the amenities, modernized, and comfortable beds. The dogs loved playing in the lake.

Great getaway, got to see family. Cook, swim, paddle boat with my grandbabies and just relax.
Peaceful camp right on Lake Cobbossee. Plenty of space and having dishwasher, washer and dryer was a nice perk.
The owners were personable and responsive.
Many serene nights sitting on the dock and the Bass fishing is amazing!
Me, my wife and our dog had a great stay at David’s place. He is very accommodating and responds quickly when you have a question or concern.
The cabin is well appointed and has everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing getaway. I would agree with other guests re:carpeting in the cabin but it did not detract from the overall experience.
We spent most of our time fishing and enjoying the wildlife outside on the dock-would stay here again based on that alone.

Good but not for a family with babies on hot days
The good,...I will say that the location of this property is fantastic and it does look like the owner has made some upgrades to the kitchen, bath and one of the bedrooms. It is also dog friendly which is great.
The bad,... There are still old stained carpets in some rooms and for a family with babies it's not too ideal. The house has poor ventilation so there's no way to get an outside breeze from anywhere. Needless to say it was Hot and extremely uncomfortable on the week we went in July. I bought my own fans at the local walmart to help with this which would have made it unbearable otherwise. Lastly the front door does not close very well so mosquitoes got in.
Recommendations... I would not have carpet in any room where dogs are allowed at a Rental for cleanliness and overall hygiene. I would also install air conditioning since the house is not adequately ventilated and ensure all doors close properly.

The camp is very accommodating & comfortably sleeps 8. The daily, hourly view is wonderful.
The owner was very accessible. The camp was clean and supplied with basic household and lake fun accessories. The lake view from in the camp, yard and dock was delightful. We had a lovely time.

Peaceful Perfection!
We stayed three nights over the 4th of July weekend. The cottage was perfect for our family, and larger than it looked in the photos. There are two bedrooms, but also an additional sunroom with a daybed. There were only three of us, but it could've accommodated up to eight. There were a lot of luxuries that we didn't expect in a rustic cottage - AC, dishwasher, washer/dryer, and a pretty large kitchen! Everything we needed and more. The location was beautiful - right on the water with gorgeous views from the family room and sunroom. There was plenty of outdoor space with a large table, fire pit, and small dock. Lots of space for our toddler to run around. Dave was very responsive before our arrival and even texted to make sure we had everything we needed. It was a beautiful and peaceful weekend, and we can't wait to come back to visit again!
