You will be the only booking in the cottage for the nights confirmed. Minimum booking is 2 nights.

Cleaning:
The suites are not serviced during your stay but a mid stay clean can be organised for a fee.

Tariffs:
Family suite rate and cottage rate are available for your booking requirements. The cottage has 2 Family suites which sleeps up to 8 persons (2 couples and 4 singles). Each ensuite family suite has a Master bedroom and a connecting Twin room available as required.

Each Family suite can accommodate 1 couple and 2 singles. Whole cottage rate (use of both family suites each with its own bathroom, minimum 2 nights stay) are available on request. Please confirm pricing with operator.

The following are the family suite and whole cottage tariffs:

(1) Family suite rate per night. Max of 4 persons permitted in a family suite :
Rate is based on a family suite.
Nightly tariff: Up to 2 persons $150 per night. Extra person at $20 per night and pets at $20 each per night. Number of pets is limited to two.

(2) Whole cottage rate per night. Max of 8 persons permitted in the cottage:
Minimum 2 nights stay. Use of both family suites (4 rooms and 2 bathrooms). Rooms will be made up to your sleeping requirements.
Rate: Up to 2 persons is $200 per night. Extra person at $20 each per night and pets at $20 each per night. Number of pets is limited to 2.

Bed linens, towels, tea, coffee and milk are provided on commencement of your stay. You have to provide bedding and food for your pets.

The accommodation is structured to cater to single individuals, couples, groups or large families.

Check in is 2 pm and check out is no later than 10 am.

Your direction from Sydney:
Take the Hume Highway and the Federal Highway towards Canberra. Continue past Lake George, then 2.7 km after the Brooks Creek Bridge and just before Newton VC Rest Area, turn right onto Shingle Hill Way. The farm is 2.4 km on the right (242 Shingle Hill Way). There is a large 'Christmas Tree Keng' signboard at the front gate. We are only a 2 and a half hours drive from Sydney's International airport to our farm gate.

Your direction from Canberra:
From Canberra take the Federal Highway to Goulburn/Sydney. Go past the two overhead bridges and immediately after the 'Middleton VC' Rest Area turn left onto Shingle Hill Way. We are 2.4 kms on the right and there is a "Christmas Tree Keng' sign at the gate. Our address is 242 Shingle Hill Way.

Your direction from Melbourne:
From the Hume Highway after Yass take the left turnoff to Murrumbateman/Canberra onto the Barton Highway. Just after Murrumbateman turn left onto Murrumbateman Road that goes to Gundaroo and the south coast. At the end of Murrumbateman Road turn right onto Sutton Road. After 1.1 km turn left onto Shingle Hill Way. The farm is 9.4 km on the left (242 Shingle Hill Way, Gregory

Just what we were looking for
We were a small family group with a pet dog and a teenager that did not want to stay in the capital, and just needed a simple base to visit our daughter in Canberra from. This was exactly what we were looking for, a bit quirky but affordable, peaceful, out of town, lovely small walk around the farm, Roos, hares and bird life. We have stayed in Canberra in the past but this was a much better option for us than staying in town.

Short getaway
Perfect property for our family. Clean, comfortable beds, great showers and loved all the Christmas touches through the house. A lovely property with lots of space for our kids to run around. Very relaxing to return to after being tourists in Canberra everyday.

Great find near Canberra
We loved our stay at Christmas Tree Cottage. The cottage has everything you need. It's very clean. There's a great yard for the kids and the dog and we were surprised and delighted by the billabong - we all enjoyed swimming on the hot day. Keng is a lovely host and we really enjoyed our stay here.

Christmas Tree Cottage was perfect for our family's get together.
Keng our host was most accomodating. The cottage was perfect for our family get together for my mothers birthday. Close enough to Canberra and surrounding highlights. Very relaxing and a great place for my mothers dog. I loved the Christmas cross stitch work in frames on the walls. So much time has gone into those. Would certainly stay here again if visiting the area.

Comfortable and quaint
House is not the fanciest but was clean, as described and functional. Comfortable beds and great shower pressure. There isn't a lot of kitchen/hang out space without using the backyard/garage, which was fine but cold. Great directions provided to find the property, obviously it's out of town but perfect for a base for a group visiting the ACT, really easy drive in and nice to retire back to. Dog fencing was suitable :)

An owner who mistakes his guests for his cleaning staff
We found the property to be a good representation of what was described overall and had a pleasant stay however, upon checkout the owner didn’t show up and asked us to leave the keys in front of his personal house which was a short drive ahead. We did accordingly and checked out at 9.40am and about an hour later in to our journey we got a text from the owner accusing us of not cleaning the insides of his oven properly. It’s funny because we didn’t find his oven, plates and cutlery to be squeaky clean either but we didn’t want to make a fuss. The oven was left exactly like we found it and if he expects us to clean the insides of his oven of decades of rust for free, he’s just asking too much. We found plates with leftover food crusted on them and cracked plastic drinking glasses that leak and still didn’t trouble the owner for those minor inconveniences. We washed , dried and put away everything we used so getting such weird text messages from this owner is very much uncalled for. The carpets were not vacuumed in a while and sheets weren’t fresh as well. Maybe if he focused more on keeping his property regularly cleaned he wouldn’t have to pester his guests to do it for him.

Peaceful and perfect to include dog
Lovely property great for walks with dog - lots of wildlife so dogs need to be on lead. Fenced yard for dog. The house itself had everything we needed. Note no dishwasher or washing machine. The bed was comfortable in a spacious bedroom. Lovely wood burner plus heating and cooling aircondioners. Loved sleeping with no street lights and quiet road. We enjoyed all the Christmas themed decorations and cups, plates and glasses - the house is in a Christmas tree farm so was a lovely touch made better by live Christmas trees around the property which were being harvested while we were there. Lots of dirt roads around the property to ride our bikes and walk the dog. All in all would recommend.

Peaceful and family friendly
We enjoyed our stay at Christmas tree cottage, it is a lovely property to sit back and enjoy nature. It was great to be able to bring our dog with us, he had a great time exploring and the yard was nice and secure. We enjoyed the fireplace and getting our kids outside and off their electronics for a while. Thank you for your hospitality Keng!

Comfortable stay 30min from Canberra
A lovely little cottage amongst the Christmas trees, roos and hares in country NSW only 30min from Canberra. We were certainly cosy with all the heating and enjoyed arriving to freshly made beds, bath towels and a wood fire ready to light. Some hanging racks or a clothesline would have been handy for our wet snow gear to dry and the 5 boys loved games of football in the yard so a washing machine would have been great instead of bringing loads and loads of washing home. The pantry items were handy and the kitchen well equipped for home cooked meals, including making regular use of the BBQ. Thanks for looking after us, Keng.

I would not recommend staying here as the owner charged our credit card for cleaning the oven although it had only been used to warm precooked food.

This is a simple, very affordable cottage in a peaceful location about 25 mins north of the centre of Canberra. It is clean and comfortable and we were able to explore the historic towns of Gundaroo and Gunning as well as sightseeing in Canberra. A very enjoyable stay.
