The residence is clean and super cute. The neighborhood is probably not ideal for families with small children. One night there was a woman screaming in Street in front of home so we had to escort our small children around her to get in home without drawing her attention to us as she was stopping cars and anyone else she saw. Another time while going to our car a man rode up on a bicycle and harassed us for money. Was not ideal when small children present.
This was perfect for my brother and me during a short stay in San Diego to visit family. It is central to everything and was a very convenient location. If I was traveling alone, I probably would not have chosen the neighborhood. The unit was clean and had nearly everything we needed. There is no filtered water available, but we stopped for snacks and drinking water. The stove was giving a strong gas smell, but the owner was very responsive and had maintenance in to repair it the next day. There is no central air, but the unit cools very quickly. We happened to arrive there on a 90-degree day and opened the living room windows to cool things off. The bedroom a/c units also are decent. Other than the gas smell the first day and the incredibly noisy bathroom exhaust fan, it was a pleasant stay. As far as parking, we were there during road construction so had a difficult time finding parking at check-in, but evening time was not too difficult to find parking nearby.
The property has been updated to reflect a clean space. The only issue we had was the sofa bed. This should not be considered a place to sleep, the bed is so lopsided and broken that not even a child could sleep here. Advertise the space as two beds only, it would be more accurate.
The communication from John was top notch, and we had no problems accessing our rental. It was clean and the bedding/towels/kitchen supplies were quality and in good repair. We travelled to multiple beaches on different days, downtown, and to multiple family attractions throughout our week stay and all were within a 20 minute drive at most.
We had a great experience with the property and John was excellent in communication and helping with any concerns. Felt super safe and comfortable staying here.

Not what we expected
My son's allergies flared up terribly and we had to go home early. Not what we expected...
This worked perfect for us. We were coming to San Diego to go to our sons wedding. The wedding was downtown but we wanted something away from all the traffic and with a kitchen. Our other son and a good friend stayed with us and it worked out just great. Beautiful view of Coronado and would definitely stay here again.
This was our first experience with a VROB. It was great! The location of the property was perfect for our needs. The owner communicated with us and made us feel welcome. The apartment had all the necessities, was clean and well kept. We enjoyed the use of the boogie boards, beach chairs and beach towels.

We loved the quaint building.
We wished for more variety in eating establishments close by.
My daughter, two grandsons and I had a great stay at this place. It is so conveniently located to everything we wanted to see. The place was nice, clean and comfortable. The owner was very pleasant to deal with. I will try to stay here again when I return to lovely San Diego.
This was a cute place for 4 people, and it had everything we needed! The location was great as it is close to everything! Downtown restaurants were just a short drive away and so was the beach! It was a quiet location which was great!
This property is clean and centrally located. The property owner is very accessible and helpful. I will try to stay hear again when I return to SanDiego.
4 of us stayed there for a week conference in San Diego. We all love it. I love the cleanliness that John provides. John is a good host, and so easy to communicate. Wi-fi is excellent that we could work very well. Thank you; I finished my Power Point before the conference because of it.
My sister mailed the fruit box to me; and it reached to the door that I was not even home that day; no need to be worried of loosing it although it is customer's responsibility, not owner's.
I love walking to the convention center. My morning walk to the CC and exploring the diversity of its neighborhood are my favorite things before daily conference began.
Thank you John, and your place and your hospitality.
Lovely little condo. Very Clean. Good Beds. Everything we needed for a long weekend at the SDJF. Centrally located to everything. The neighborhood was a little busy (traffic-wise) and some nearby houses were pretty trashy, but that didn't bother us. MAKE SURE you use the shower mat for the bathtub!! Also note, if you are upstairs...there is no elevator, so you have to drag your stuff up the stairs. We managed, and owner offered help from staff, who were very nice and helpful. Would stay again.
This property was perfect for my family and I. John made everything so easy for us as far as check in and check out. He also communicated with us and was willing to help us with ideas for what to do during our stay. Location was great for us to get to all the different places we planned to go. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and would definitely stay again.

Top Notch Host
John was a great host to have. Communication was great. The unit had everything our family needed. The location was great as it was central to everything we had planned. The unit below us had some renovations going on that didn’t even bother us and he still went out of his way to apologize to us for the noise and even gave us some gift certificates to a local pizzeria that definitely hit the spot. The street can be a bit busy but nothing out of the ordinary. I also think our unit #5 definitely is the best unit because of the view from the balcony.

Great central location, nice view, very comfortable.
I initially was concerned when I saw the square footage, but it was quite comfortable. There was easy access to everything and a coffee soo a couple blocks away. I'm very satisfied with our stay.

Great Place
The condo is small but a great fit for a couple and a guest. It has everything you need (minus the dishwasher) and is close to just about anything you want to do in San Diego. Super relaxing, and great value.

Very nice, updated home in a historic neighborhood.
Great place to stay. The owner kept a very open line of communication with me, and he was very flexible. He let me check in early and check out late. Not to mention the detailed welcome letter and info about the neighborhood and surrounding area.
Conveniently located a half block away from a great Mexican restaurant (Adalbertos - Open 24 Hours), great bar with tasty burgers (Sister Rays), and a very clean and organized liquor/general store.
Would definitely stay here again if I had the opportunity.

About the host

I grew up in Northampton Massachusetts, a town with countless beautiful old homes and lots of woods. I spent countless days in my youth building tree forts never knowing that those 2 dynamics would intersect at this point. Upon arriving in San Diego with an interest in building and purchasing real estate, I became immediately interested in the largely neglected Victorian buildings in this area of town. This property became a labor of love for me many years ago and I hope that legacy will be carried forward by my 3 sons. My wife if Japanese, so our family often divides our time between 2 very different worlds, both with much to offer.
Why they chose this property
I am hopeful that our guests will appreciate the attention to detail and uniqueness of design that has been incorporated into every aspect of this property.
What makes this property unique
