Perfect little rustic cabin with an amazing view. We loved every part of our stay here. The host was absolutely amazing and we appreciated all of her help and her communication with us. We will definitely be back!
Checking in and out was a breeze! The early mornings waking up having coffee and watching the sunrise on the lake was amazing. The house is dated but still gives you a warm and cozy feeling! The dock was great! Hope to be able to come back again!

Beautiful view and cozy house
We completely enjoyed our stay at the lake house. The view is beautiful. We had fun playing in the lake and on the beach. We had 4 generations and everyone had fun being together. As an added bonus we were able to witness the total solar eclipse from the back yard! What an unforgettable experience! Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful spot. Mary C.
We enjoyed being so close to the lake, when we choose a property a dock is a must. The dock is nice and big with plenty of room for everyone. The house is clean and neat.
House was very clean and the view and scenery around was amazing! Communication with the property owner was thorough and very easy to communicate with!
My wife and I were in town for a friend’s wedding and had the pleasure of renting this lake house. We enjoyed the rustic look and quiet neighborhood. Our favorite feature was the dock. We spent multiple evenings watching the sun set and listening to the water and birds. It was a great experience.
Thank you so much for a great weekend on the lake. Martha, the owner, was very friendly and helpful. The house looks great. Amazing location right on the lake. Perfect for fishing or simply for a relaxing gateway. Beautiful sunsets and sunrise for those who are looking for it :) Thank you again, definitely will try to find one more vacation to stop by
This place has one of the best views on the lake. We caught all the Brim we wanted...
The house is stocked with everything! You name it, it’s there. Felt very at home immediately. If you are a stickler for neat and tidy this may not be for you. It is rustic and charming. Bathroom, beds, and kitchen were very clean. True cabin feeling. For this price we have found our Lake Marion vacation home.
The owner Martha is quick to respond and very helpful.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
The good, the bad and the ugly describes this property to a tee.
First of all we enjoyed out stay as Lake Marion offers a wonderful vacation experience.
This property has a sandy beach perfect for swimming and fishing.
However, you dont realize the condition of some things until you arrive and receive the first email from the owner. Prepare yourself for a litany of hand written notes of do's and don'ts posted everywhere while you are there.
When you arrive you will have to figure the "code of breakers" in the electrical panel. It's a combination of what to cut on first and what to cut off last so as not to damage electrical equipment and if you get it wrong be prepared to pay for damages. If you are not comfortable with controlling breaker switches in a live electrical panel you may be at a loss and need to contact the neighbor for help.
One of the components includes the dock, which is in great disrepair missing main structure framing and badly damaged and improper wiring unsafe for use at all.
We had three kids and a baby with us and although we were careful to clean, made an error by not taking our final bag of trash out with us, our mistake, which included a diaper and cigarette butts from our outside clean. For this the owner, by all rights, kept the deposit. I don't blame them for that at all. We missed some of the mess the kids made upstairs as well.
There is no use of the fire place allowed while you are here, another item not listed in the original post but there are electric heaters throughout that worked well once you figure our the "breaker combination".
As advertised, no wifi and the TV is outdated and only plays DVDs.
Also the owner blamed us for rearranging furniture asking "Who does that?" We only moved two chairs of furniture, so we could all watch a movie, which includes a living room full of wicker pieces and lawn chairs so unless the tenants who left the same day we arrived rearranged the furniture layout I'm not sure what the problem was.
It's rustic and the main room was large and allowed us to enjoy the space. The interior is covered with cobwebs and the exterior is in need of a power wash covered in years of dirt dobber nests. Overall a clean property otherwise.
Overall not a bad property, just needs some repair and be prepared for some things that are not listed in the ad. The owner is a little picky for what they have but I definitely understand some of the frustration from our errors

Rustic but nice
We enjoyed our stay here. It was a bit rustic, but had a nice view of the lake and a wonderful great room with a lot of space for family and pets. Good spot to hang out with friends and family, but don't expect to watch much TV -- 4 channels -- CBS and 3 odd ones.

Great time!
The kids had a great time in the water and playing on the small beach. We could watch them from the comfort of the deck or the shade of the tree. Nice quiet neighborhood. We came prepared with plenty of DVDs, but it didn't rain so we didn't need them, the kids played outside from morning til nite. Thank you!

Great
The place was really nice. We had an awesome time just hanging out outside playing cornhole and talking. The dock is very unstable but other than that, it was great
