"The Farm" Upper Lurg

Located in the heart of Kelly Country. Treat yourselves to a special break in the of the North Eastern of Victoria. Explore the 50 acres of bushland, sit by the pool or rest under the canopy provided by 50 year old apple trees.

Day trips can include Benalla Art Gallery Wangaratta, Wineries in the King Valley or Miliawa's Gourmet precinct including Brown Brothers Epicure to select a wine to enjoy with your recently purchased Milawa cheese. You are truly secluded on this 100 acre farm let. The children will delight in the open space.

A large spacious house framed with a 7 foot high hedge on one side and a pine tree enclosed paddock on the other.

Settle in and enjoy the quite or explore the rivers, ride the rail trail or visit those the producers of epicurean delights.

Can we bring our Pets?

Yes, dogs cats etc are always welcome at the farm. Whilst pets are welcome in the house, you may choose to secure dogs in the dog run whilst you are out and about enjoying the local area. The dog run has recently been renovated and updated - it will suit average domestic dogs. The dog run has a water supply, ample shade and would measure 2m x 3m. If you have a special breed with special needs I would prefer that you give me a call to discuss.

Are there animals on the farm?

Yes, Cows with calves (depending on the time of year) and Alpacas.

Golden rule in the country - Leave all gates as you found them

The property boundaries:

Looking out across the back yard through the apple trees, 2 fences to the right about 100 metres, the small shed across the paddock is just on the other side of the boundary and looking to the left to the end of the pine tree paddock about 200 metres. Looking straight ahead to the top of the hill and through the bush paddock to the end. There are walking tracks in the bush.There is also a small lean-to and barbecue at the top of the hill.

Awesome Family Getaway
We had an amazing time staying at The Farm. It was the most relaxing time away we have had. There was plenty of room in the house for everyone to have their own space and the garden and surrounds were breathtaking. We made the most of the pool and swam every day and thoroughly enjoyed our early morning walks up the hills in the paddocks. Spent some time also at Glenrowan and Beechworth which were not that far away. I Would totally recommend this place to stay. Thanks Sue

Post Xmas Family Get Away
Felt 10 nights was too long due to hot weather and no AC. Pool helped of course, but access was difficult for both grandparents & 5 year old! House was great with most mod cons (especially coffee machine). Kids loved chickens & cows!

Large house with large rooms. We had eight people , a toddler and two dogs and never got in each others way. House has everything you require for a relaxing stay. The wood fire was fantastic as were our walks around the farm. Will definitely book again.

We stayed at The Farm last year and loved it so much we came back again and it was just as fabulous. So quiet and peaceful and brilliant to recharge the batteries. Close enough to do day trips out each day for a few hours and time to enjoy the log fire with the rain and wind outside. Planning on coming back again next year...

Peaceful and quiet country retreat with plenty of space for extended families. The pool was fabulous and the chickens were good layers. Easy coms with owner. Comfy beds, lovely and cool on the hot days with fans in every room. The dogs thought it was great too. Thanks Sue.

Quiet, peaceful location
We had a great stay at The Farm between Christmas and the new year. Property was well set out with plenty of space to spread out. It was nice and quiet and close enough to Wangaratta and surrounds to grab supplies etc. The only negative I had was that perhaps some pest control measures might be required as we had a plague of crickets constantly inviting themselves inside -(and I mean hundreds of tiny crickets everywhere)!

It might have been raining but it was perfect weather to stay in and cook. The cows and chooks added to the atmosphere. Bed was so comfortable we didn’t want to leave this morning.

Fun Family Getaway
The family had a great time at a beautiful property. Central to a number of beautiful areas with lovely walks. Peaceful and relaxing. The fire was absolutely lovely during the winter and kept us all cosy and warm. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Wonderful.
We had a long weekend away for my wife's birthday. Our adult kids and partners came along and we had a great time. Relaxing, board games and dinners. We had plenty of space to do our own thing or get together at one of many spots all together. Talking around the fire with family was perfect.

Serenity now
The Farm is a beautiful, open country home, with peaceful views outside every window. Everything you need to cook a big family meal, in the country kitchen with awesome gas oven. Close to SO many wineries, its hard to choose where to go. Back to relax in the evening, infrastructure of fire, with a wine and playing games that are available. Pool too deep for under 13s, only disappointment. Otherwise a thoroughly relaxing and peaceful stay. Thankyou!!

Perfect holiday getaway
Our stay at The Farm was so good, we did not want to leave. The pool was amazing and used daily! The gardens are sublime! Lovely to laze about in, appreciate the birdlife and safe for the dogs to roam. The cows and chooks made us smile each day... PLUS the frogs and geckos at night added to the amazing atmosphere. My murry river retriever x kelpie loved running in the paddocks and swimming in the dams daily. And the coffee machine and beans supplied were luxurious! Highly recommend The Farm and will definitely be back!
