About this property

Spacious lake home to swim and fish on, amazing views and convenient location.

This updated property is located on the West Shore of Lake Edward. Breathtaking lake views, perfect for watching the kids swim off the huge dock from anywhere in the house. There are two large bedrooms with a queen bed in each. A smaller room has a twin bed or could be used as an office. An attached converted garage provides a 2nd living/sleeping area with a queen bed, twin bed, pullout sofa, recliner and tv.
This house is all one elevation, no steps, walk in shower in one bathroom, bathtub/shower in 2nd bathroom, open floor plan, fully equipped kitchen, in floor heating, gas fireplace, washer/dryer, air conditioning unit off of main living room, wifi, and flat screen tvs. The kitchen is well equipped with most anything you would need for cooking. Seating around the kitchen island and a large expanding dining table to host large groups for dinner, as well as a hightop table for informal meals or games. The house features are large dock that can easily host your entire family while you swim, fish, read, sunbath, and nature watch. The house is situated right off County Road 4, which is a fairly busy road, but lakeside is private and quiet. It's just 10 minutes from downtown Nisswa, 9 minutes from Breezy Point, 13 minutes from Gull Lake locations such as Grand View Resort and Zorbaz on Gull. We also have a detached garage that we’ve filled with yard games, 2 paddle boards, a ping-pong table, kayak, floaties for the lake for you to use for entertainment.
A gas grill on the patio off the main living area is easy for grilling and plenty of seating for alfresco dining and relaxing around the firepit.
We provide freshly washed linens, pillows, bedspreads, and bath towels.
Because of our extra cleaning practices we unfortunately cannot make exceptions for check out or check in times.

Family Vacation
We had a great time here. Traveling with two small children ages 4 and 2 can be challenging but the dock was wide so we could sit and fish or swim all afternoon. Home is close to the lake to admire during nap time. Very clean home and friendly hosts. Only complaint we ever had was AC did not keep up but they had plenty of fans that made it manageable. Would stay again.

What a great place! The house is positioned close to the lake so every night I slept to the sound of the water. It had everything we could need. There were ceiling fans and new small table fans provided in every room. The beds were unbelievably comfortable. The big bedroom/bonus room helped for space when it rained. We never felt crowded. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Great week at the lake
We had a wonderful time enjoying a week of leisure around the lake. Nice to be so close to the lake from the patio area and enjoyed the spacious dock pad 20 feet from shore. Kids enjoyed swimming and fishing from the pad. Family enjoyed the supplied paddle boards. Very nice clear lake to enjoy tubing and a night ride to see all the loons.

Family Vacation
It was great to just go outside and the lake was right there. Lots of games on site for our family to play and do. The bedrooms do get a little warm for sleeping, but the main areas were good for temperature. We had nice bonfires by the lake each night. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Beautiful cabin with lots of room for family. We had 6 family members and it fit us all perfectly. Only downfall was the weeds around the dock, but we just got over it and swam. Loved the stand up paddle boards to use and the kayak. Lots of yard games and beautiful porch. Great location close to Nissaw/Brainerd. Great, helpful communication with the property manage prior.

Nice, large accommodations for our daughter and family, son and family and myself and my husband when we were in Brainerd for a family wedding. Nice outdoor area...we enjoyed a fire on the patio every night. The property sits between a VERY busy county road and the lake. It's easy to miss the driveway as the only identification is the small blue address number. Lots of towels provided, comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen and in floor heat made it pretty cozy!

Another perfect stay
My wife and I brought our mobility challenged moms to this beautiful lake home for a quiet Fall weekend. Everything was perfect, and our moms were able to enjoy the lake up close, even though they have mobility issues. Places like this are so hard to find, and this one is gorgeous.

The air conditioning doesn't quite make it to the bedrooms when the doors are closed, but other than that its a great place all around. The kitchen is extremely well equipped. The SUPs and kayak were fun to have on hand. It was delightful to have a little campfire.

Jeff and Sandys return to Nisswa!
We've recently sold our cabin in Ottertail to get back to the area I love.....Nisswa! From Nisswa lakes to Longville, I have been renting cabins for over 50 years and though this is more of a lake home than a cabin It is a great place! Large dock with adirondack chairs, nice big patio right on the lake, with everything that you could need inside and out with great Bass and sunny fishing. The highway noise on cty rd 4 can be annoying at times but we still enjoyed our stay. We never met the owners but they were very quick to respond to my questions leading up to and during our stay. Lovely clean home right on nice clear lake. Only concern was busy road as we had toddlers with us and it was a bit noisy. Overall had a wonderful stay and would recommend it.

Family Getaway
We had a great stay of enjoying fishing, swimming, and boating. Place was just like it said to accommodate our group of 8. Great patio area and a large dock area to sit and enjoy the view of a very nice lake. To our surprise the place supplied 2 Paddle Boards which provided a new experience for young adults. We enjoyed daily view of Bald Eagles and the enjoyment of listing to over 40 Loons.

The accommodations were very nice. No stairs as all rooms are on one level. Dock is very nice and we were able to rent a pontoon from the Cozy Cove resort which is right next door. Overall it was a very enjoyable week and the accommodations fit us very well.

Lovely Cabin
My 92 year old mom and my two sisters had a very special time at this cabin. We each had our own bedroom!! It was very comfortable for eating and relaxing. Nice well stocked kitchen, and everything else you need. We had a camp fire outside, our view of the lake was beautiful! Got a little shopping and dining done in Nisswa. Thank you!

Barbie's On The Bay is named after our mother, who after an unfortunates accident was no longer able to live on her own. She always has loved being on the lake and sharing the lake life with family and friends from near and far. This house is an extension of her hospitality that we hope to share with others.

Why they chose this property

As soon as you walk through the front door we promise you will be as taken with the lake view as we are. You really feel like you are right on the lake when you watch it sparkle from the windows. The clarity of the water and hard sand make for ideal swimming off the large dock that is big enough to hold your whole household for summertime fun. The charm of nearby resorts, the wildlife, and the water will put you right to ease. The location is great for whatever else might interest in you in the Nisswa/LakeShore/Breezy area as well.

What makes this property unique

The location is idea for those who truly want to experience the lakes area. There's shopping, golfing, fishing, access to the Paul Bunyan trail, fine dining, swimming, snowmobiling all within 10 minutes of the property. Boat rentals are available from Cozy Bay resort, which is walking distance from the property as well.
