This well appointed home features the best of both worlds. Superbly located on the quiet outskirts of Kingscote, the property provides a peaceful and relaxing stay while being only a stone's throw from the township's cafes, tourism and shopping precinct.

This home is ideal for families and retirees as well as couples seeking a romantic getaway. It features a generous living and dining area opening onto a spacious deck with sweeping sea views. The villa sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms and has a well equipped kitchen with microwave and various appliances. Modern furnishings throughout provide plenty of comfort and relaxation.

Edgewater Escape is the ideal base for visiting the many national parks and other attractions on Kangaroo Island. It is also close to local activities including the Little Penguin tours and the nightly pelican feeding show. The home is only a short stroll to the beach where you can enjoy fishing, swimming, walking or simply relaxing with a good novel.

Nice view and comfy beds but disappointing overall

The view is like the photo (a highlight) and the beds comfortable. Like the reviews say though , the property is dilapidated and in need of a good clean up and repair. This includes broken lights indoors and outdoors, we weren’t confident there was a working smoke alarm, TV didn’t work, there is no internet, no surf towels, no grill so BYO everything. We had issues contacting the owner to follow up including initial access. Our booking provider (Stayz) was a great but issues remain unresolved. It’s a pity as this could be a great stay with a bit of TLC

Lovely home

The house was very nice and in a quiet location but could do with some maintenance as a number of light inside and the out door one by the entrance door weren’t working

Not as bad as the reviews

After booking l found alot of negative reviews, happily it wasn't too bad. the island accommodation all seems to be in need of some TLC. I chooser this place as it had water views in case the weather wasn't good while we were there and we;d have something to look at. The windows we disgusting and it was difficult to see out, the second reason was it had a BBQ- however there was no BBQ and you couldn't use the oven it hadn't been cleaned for sometime and obviously because there was no BBQ it had been overused

This place has so much potential

Nice house. Spacious. Great kitchen well equipped. The cleaning inside cupboard and fridge needs improvement. There was no barbecue grill as mentioned in the facilities, which was a bit of a let down. Beds were comfortable. The dining chairs are well overdue for replacement as totally worn out. Need more mugs and plates would not suit a family of 6, some pieces missing. This place could have a 10/10. If dining chairs replaced. Few more dishes. Need new bath towels as some stained. Could be off putting. A bbq. Then this place could be a little gem and a roll up or vertical blind for back slidding door. Absolutely. Quiet location. With stunning view. Some weeding and tidying the garden would be a plus. We enjoyed our stay. As mention could be a great stay with just a few improvements. Great value for money. Contact with owner was minimal and were not responding. We enjoyed the quietness and location.

Edgewater Escape stay

on arrival first impression was very poor - driveway full of weeds and uneven paving causing trip hazards. inside the property was in poor condition due to very worn furniture and fittings. not properly cleaned - cobwebs, dirty venetian blinds, dusty skirting boards. no beach towels provided as per description, no BBQ, not enough cutlery or crockery, and only three coat hangers in total. not enough towels -bath towels, but only one small hand towel between the four guests. most of the windows were filthy, back door smashed, some of the blinds didn't open and close, and the windows didn't all open either. Apart from the cleanliness issues the house is badly in need of some TLC to remedy many of the faults described. overall very disappointed as our guests were visitors from overseas. we have stayed on Kangaroo Island on many previous occasions and this was by far the poorest accommodation that we have ever stayed at. if you would like to see photographic evidence of some of the above we can provide pictures.

Owners of the house need to spend some money. No upkeep or care it seems?

KI is so beautiful. House has good views. The garden full of weeds, blinds, lounge, dining chairs all worn out. No basic pantry staples. Lights dull, tv tiny, no wifi and bathroom needs repairs and cleaning. Wont go back.

Beautiful Stay on Kangeroo Island

Had an awesome time seeing all the sites around Kangeroo island . Being close to Kingscote was handy as there is a good supermarket , pub and restaurants there and plenty to see there We arrived at night and when we woke in the morning was an awesome view of the ocean. A good spot to make a base while you tour the island . Thanks 🙏 for having us and see you again .

Kingscote Edgewater

Great location, really loved staying here however this house needs maintenance and cleaning. The shower door did not close properly. The main venetian was tried up with cable ties. The house needs cleaning as do all the kitchen cupboards. It was disappointing that there was no Wifi.

Beautiful location, not very clean

The veiw from this property was breath taking. Unfortunately property wasn’t very clean, a lot of damage inside. And lots of bugs constantly inside over the stay.

Was there to work not for holiday would be disappointed if holiday.

The place is in a great location but needs a lot of love. The Front Door Mat needs replacing as it’s warn away. Light at front door is blown and also the passage light blown We replaced the batteries in the TV remote but It does not work properly. Lighting throughout house quite poor and bed lamps not both connected. Bring your own double adapter if you want to use the washing machine and dryer at the same time. Light inside entry door needs fixing as hanging. Kitchen utensils were lacking as 6 stayed with 5 cups More tea towels and hand towel would be nice. Very limited cooking items Kitchen cupboards and oven needs a good clean. Shower Screen door really dodgy A bit of TLC to the garden. Driveway is a serious trip area Windows very dirty and cobwebs The Bed and pillows are amazing to sleep in so that’s a positive. No Screens on the doors so you can’t leave doors open due to mosquitoes. Blinds need replacing No Barbecue on premises as advertised.

The property was comfortable and overall presentation was good. beds comfortable. however, could be a little cleaner, eg spiderwebs/dust on windows. remote to tv didn't work, shower door needs fixing. some power boards to connect bedside lamps would be helpful. bedside lamp in room with single beds.
