A Room with a View at McCloud House

A Room with a View is a beach front 1 room studio apartment, part of McCloud House, built in 1930. The building has been extensively renovated in character. The property is on The Esplanade at Port Noarlunga. The beach,jetty and reef are just across the road. We have two studio apartments on level one adjacent to the owners residence. The original guest house dining room on the ground floor is now a restaurant.

The Beach Studio provides all the facilities for your comfort and relaxation including a king size bed. It has a small retreat area, and en-suite with a large old fashioned claw foot bath and separate shower. We have a cot, fold up bed and a sofa bed so could take an extra adult or 2 children. They would be in the retreat area.

We also have another studio apartment on Stayz name Heritage View. Each studio has a king size bed, en-suite, air conditioning, its own balcony, and kitchenette. Off street parking is available. There are coffee shops and restaurants nearby in Port Noarlunga village.

The District

Port Noarlunga is a heritage location in the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula. It is located 40 minutes south of Adelaide's CBD and the airport with an excellent suburban train service.

The Port Noarlunga beach, the sand dunes and the Onkaparinga River mouth was judged Australia's cleanest beach for 2010.
We regard the Port Noarlunga beach as one of the best and most interesting in the Fleurieu. It has a beautiful sandy beach for swimming and relaxation, a jetty for fishing, a surf beach nearby, a reef on which to snorkel or scuba dive, walks through the dunes and along the Onkaparinga estuary.

Just a 15 minutes drive to the wineries and bushland of McLaren Vale. Further south the Fleurieu Peninsula, Cape Jervis, and many other site seeing opportunities.Take a drive along the spectacular coast to Victor Harbor, and take a ride on the steam train to Goolwa or the horse drawn carriage ride to Granite Island.

There are many wonderful restaurants and pubs serving beautiful food using the local produce throughout this region.

Julie and Bob were wonderful hosts. The McCloud House was wonderfully updated while maintaining most of the original character. The location couldn’t possibly be better. We enjoyed our daily walks on the beach and/or swims. It was nice not having to drive to the beach. We really enjoyed the small town. It’s much more charming then the hustle and bustle of Adelaide. Lovely place - spacious apartment with view.
Upstairs apartment with great view from generous balcony. Spacious living quarters and bathroom, a mix of modern facilities plus olde-worlde charm and character. Kitchenette looked good enough to stay for a week, but we only stayed overnight.

Excellent property
We loved our studio apartment, the location was perfect with views of the ocean. We were made most welcome by the owners who live on site and the studio was clean comfortable and fabulously furnished. The owners provided us with tea/ coffee, home made biscuits and a nice bottle of wine. We highly recommend this property to others as a great place to stay. We will definitely stay here again.

Absolutely fabulous !!
We arrived on a wet and windy night and were welcomed by a blazing fire and warm and cosy apartment. The original Art Nouveau features have been faithfully retained and complemented by modern fittings in the kitchen and bathroom, making the studio very stylish and functional. We were also delighted to find a complimentary bottle of good red wine, plunger coffee, a range of fine teas, and bread, cereal and jam. A great verandah with ocean views topped it off. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this place as a perfect little getaway for couples - all within 15 minutes drive of McLaren Vale. We will definitely be back.

Such a lovely experience. It's not often a property exceeds your expectations - but McLoud House did just that. The property's location is second to none - with vineyards on one side and the sea to the other. This, not so little studio, is filled with all the comforts from home, complete with fresh flowers, magazines and the yummiest home made anzac biscuits  nice touch Julie! Its situated in a cute little town with a bundle of character. We felt entirely removed from the hustle bustle and although we reside in Sydney look forward to returning one day. W absolutely LOVED it there.Tip: although the sunsets would warm the coldest creature, bring your jackets outside of the summer period.

Thanks so much! we were able to recharge with a lovely relaxing bath and very welcome comfy bed. PS the views are magnificent it doesn't get any better.
