Perfect for 2 families holidaying together or as a split combination of parent's upstairs and the kid's downstairs. Both levels of the home are fully self contained. A single lock up garage is available for all the toys!

2 bedrooms configured as: Bedroom 1 - Queen Bed (with newly renovated ensuite & balcony access) & Bedroom 2 - Two x King Single + Trundle Bed. The upper apartment accommodates 5 guests comfortably. The living area is spacious and opens onto a generous balcony with gorgeous water views. The dining area & kitchen are well appointed and there is a newly renovated main bathroom complete with shower, toilet and double vanity.

Downstairs
2 bedrooms configured as: Bedroom 1 - Queen Bed & Bedroom 2 - Double Bunk + Single Bed, the apartment accommodates 5 guests comfortably. The living areas are open plan & offer 2 living areas connected by the dining area & well appointed kitchen. The bathroom boasts both a toilet, bath & shower.

The Kiama scenic coastal walking track is also at your doorstep and within 10min leads you along the coast into the picturesque township of Kiama via Surf Beach, Black Beach & the famous Kiama Boat Harbour & Blowhole.

'Golden Sands' is minutes by car off the Princess Highway and has direct access via Rail with a station in Kiama. Berry, Robertson, Jamberoo, and Shellharbour are also within 20min driving for a day out.

Another great year

Always a great stay. Near to beach and near enough to the town. Clean and now better than basic level accomodation, with friendly down to earth hosts. See you next year.

Beautiful spot in Kiama

7 ladies looking for a weekend away. Perfect position with 4 bedrooms and plenty of comfortable beds for each of us. Very clean house with everything we needed. Lovely walks by the ocean in either direction We will definitely book this accommodation again.

Plenty of room for everyone, large bathrooms, good for the elderly as they didn't have to keep going up and down the stairs. 5 min drive to shops, walk to beach.

Just a stones throw from the beach

A great spacious house, within walking distance to the beach. Also a playground near by which is great if you have kids. Good sized kitchen for the whole family with the bonus of an extra kitchen space downstairs.

Great property great location

Fantastic property for two families to stay. Nice and close to Kendall’s beach and walking distance into town. Had a feast time and will look to stay again.

Clean and spacious property

The property really suited our large family. It was very clean, well equipped and spacious with all the amenities we needed for our short stay. We had a family wedding to attend in Kiama and the location of the property was very convenient. It was also an easy walk to the beach and into town. The hosts were very easy and pleasant to deal with and communication was prompt. Access to the house was also easy with coded key lock boxes.

Lovely location

Property was located in a great spot. Easy to check in with lock boxes. House was nice & spacious. We couldn’t get the oven upstairs to work so maybe helpful to leave instructions but otherwise a great stay.

We loved it!!

Easy to commincate. The view from the house was amazing, so much space. Everyone loved how close the beach was. We spent most of our time at the beach. The house had everything we needed for the stay.

Disappointing

We recently stayed at this accommodation, and unfortunately, our experience was not as positive as I had hoped. The location was great and some areas upstairs were nicely renovated but had issues like the kitchen corner cupboard door hinges broken , 2 kitchen drawers not closing, missing wine glasses (only 2 for potentially 8-10 ppl) a coffee plunger glass insert missing, broken back sliding door lock and windows that couldn’t be opened easily.the lower floor significantly let down the standards of this property. The kitchen here was lacking all the essential utensils and appliances . The toaster was absent, and one of the pans had no handle. There were no dishwashing supplies or even a garbage bin We did bring some supplies down from the upper level but when the property is advertised to sleep 10, there should be sufficient provisions to cater to this many occupants. Also multiple lights on the lower floor were not functioning with some bulbs completely missing, while others were broken, which created a very dim and inconvenient environment. The kettle downstairs had pieces of loose plastic in it, the 2 tvs not working, one didn’t turn on at all, and the other had no power socket or power board available, as the internet was powered there. The gate at the top of the stairs was broken and missing a bannister making it completely unsafe for our 1 yr old grandson. A partial refund is requested due to these circumstances and strongly advise you fix these problems promptly.

Convenient but outdated

It's a really comfy house with excellent location and heaps of space. Hot water was not properly working but fixed in 1 day by the owner. Overall cleanliness was bad, e.g.: couldn't use the BBQ because it was horrible. Could be cheaper considering all of these things, and more expensive if there is a small amount of money and attention to detail invested in it.

There were dirty underwear left in the upstairs second bedroom. A dirty nappy was left in the downstairs bathroom and other items through the house such as baby bottle caps and sanitary items. This raised concerns that the house wasn’t cleaned properly as it was overall a dirty.

Golden Sands Review

There were only 3 wine glasses in the entire house. The oven was filthy and there were no instructions how to use it or the cooktop, decals on the oven face have worn off, so it’s impossible to see any instructions for use. There was no instruction manual on the property. Many kitchen items in the cupboards were dirty with food stuck to them. The carousel in the corner cupboard is completely broken and stuck there, impossible to use. The lighting is very poor in the house generally, especially the kitchen. There is paint peeling off the ceiling in the kitchen/living room area. There were absolutely no coat hangers upstairs in the main bedroom wardrobe, there were only a couple downstairs. The basin mixer tap in the ensuite upstairs is loose. The location of the house is great, but it is in need of some TLC. The inside of the kitchen cupboards are dirty and a complete inventory of the contents is necessary. Hardly any glassware, there were 5 of us, but you rent for a larger group, and there’s insufficient equipment. There was absolutely no glassware or much else downstairs. Also no tissues anywhere in the house. We have our own coastal property that we have rented for short term holiday lets for over 35 years, so we are well aware of what is expected and commonly found in properties. The flooring upstairs is very uneven and lumpy in the living room, and a definite falls risk. The house needs maintenance.

Beach Paradise

Terrific location near the beach walking down a short track 100metres onto the sand of Kendalls Beach patrolled when we were there. The walk into town was along the cliffs to the Blowhole on a safe cement path passing the rolling surf. Facilities upstairs were good plenty of the necessary items needed to cook Dinners each night as we had young children. The kids enjoyed the use of the surf boards in the garage a great idea. Downstairs needs new blinds in the family room and the hose needs replacing as it is full of holes and not very successful to wash feet from the beach. These are minor things. Overall a great place for two families plus Gran to have a beach holiday'

Maintenance

We have stayed at Golden Sands a number of times before and we do like it very much. However the downstairs section of the house needs some love - painting, sliding windows need maintenance and perhaps some new furniture in the bedrooms. Front door does not close securely and both sliding doors in the family room do not lock. Perhaps this is because of lack of visits by the owners during COVID. Nothing major but all these little problems need attention.

Great location but property is tired and dirty

The location of this property is excellent with a short stroll to a local beach, and 20 mins walk to the town centre. Unfortunately the property was not clean - very dusty, hair ties on the floor and even a dead cockroach. The filter in the dishwasher was particularly disgusting when we took it out to rinse it. The sofa bed downstairs, when opened, was found to have a dirty sheet on it. The beds are made with a quilt between two sheets, and some quilts were stained. The property is also quite tired. Some chairs were broken including one at the dining take, doors that don’t close properly, and kitchen cabinets and drawers that don’t close properly. Overall value for money was low.

Cass and Cooper family holiday

We love Golden Sands and have booked for next year but there a few little details that would make our stay easier: more than 1 tea towel for the use of possibly 10 people, some washing up liquid, more than 5 tablets for the dishwasher, and perhaps Netflix. We had cool, damp weather so more choice for TV shows would have been very welcome. We still love Golden Sands.
