About this property

WIFI, Foxtel, Close to beach and river, Playground, Quiet location

Beach Creek Cottage is the ideal get away for families, friends and couples, seeking something quiet and secluded, but with plenty of options for things to do in nature.

This is our holiday home which we rent out year round. It is a cosy rural cottage, with a comfortable feel and simple amenities.

We think it is a great base for exploring the great outdoors, and is priced to suit the budget conscious who are looking for a quiet beach getaway. We hope you will enjoy this special piece of rural paradise.

PLEASE NOTE: No booking enquiries from prospective tenants under the age of 21. We are aimed at families and groups of friends. Not parties. Unfortunately we have had a bad experience with a young group and as a result need to implement this policy going forward.

A short 2 and 3/4 drive from the Melbourne CBD, or 2 hours from the South Eastern Suburbs, Beach Creek Cottage is ideally suited to 1-2 families. Seaspray is 20 minutes from Sale. We provide:

- 3 Bedrooms, with 8 beds accommodating up to 10 people (maximum 10 adults). Master has a queen bed, Second Bedroom has a double bed, bunk bed and cot and the Third bedroom has two bunk beds.

- Please bring your own bedding, linen and towels. The beds have mattress protectors only. We do this to keep the costs down for everyone as a linen service in a rural area can be very costly.

- Full Bathroom and a separate toilet with vanity.

- Kitchen fully stocked with cookware, crockery and a dishwasher

- HUGE Playground exclusive for your use!

- Air Conditioning and Heating in the lounge room

- Foxtel

- Free WiFi Internet (please note, the Satellite connection may be intermittent, especially during inclement weather or busy periods)

- Boardgames, Books and Videos.

How to Get There

How to get to Beach Creek Cottage?

Beach Creek Cottage is a 2 hour 45 minute drive from the centre of Melbourne. It takes 2 hours door to door from the South Eastern Suburbs.

Take the Princes Highway from Melbourne all of the way through to Rosedale. In Rosedale you will come to a roundabout, turn right at the roundabout, and then take the first left after the Rosedale Pub towards Seaspray (Large Tourist Sign).

Follow this road surrounded by farmland and pine trees, past the Sale Golf Club in Longford, and turn right at the T Intersection at the end of this road. The second left is Seaspray Road, which is signed for Seaspray and will take you direct through to the township of Seaspray.

As you come through the large flat pine trees in Seaspray, and can view the ocean, take the second Davies Street entrance on your right, which you will see as you first view the parkland and tennis & basketball courts on your left. Beach Creek Cottage is the second house on the right, opposite farmland.

There is plenty of spots along the way for food, drink and petrol, but it is a simple direct drive from Melbourne.

OUR RATES:

Rates allow up to 10 people to stay at Beach Creek Cottage (maximum 10 adults).

You will need to provide your own bedding/linen. We do this to keep the costs down for everyone. We suggest you bring sheets and blankets or sleeping bags, pillows, towels, bath mat, hand towel, 4-6 tea towels.

Additional fold out chairs are recommended for outside seating and down at the beach or creek.

We hope to have you stay with us sometime soon! We love Beach Creek Cottage, Seaspray and the 90 Mile beach, and hope you will too!

Family Beach Holiday

Stayed for 5 nights over the NYE break. Location was great as we enjoyed many dog walks on the beach and surrounds and had great weather for swimming. We enjoyed relaxing after some sunshine at the house and the kids appreciated the Wifi! Our dog enjoyed the fully fenced yard but couldn't help trying to sneak under the house. Thank you for a relaxing holiday.

Disappointing stay

Having stayed at many other holiday homes this one was certainly disappointing. Cottage smelled like a mouldy musty old caravan throughout but more intensely in the bedrooms and laundry. The laundry was a tiny old porch covered with a mouldy roof and lots of spider webs, spiders and mozzies. None of the flywire doors didnt closed or openened properly. Upon arrival there was water inside on floor underneath the front windows and drafts coming from the louvre windows. There are holes in the bathroom window and wall. There was a crack in toilet wall which you could see daylight outside. All the sheer curtains have mould on them and need washing. Although the house is surface clean there is definitly mould throughout in the walls and ceiling and the damp weather only assisted to intensify the problem. We couldn't sleep because of the musty mould smell and our bedding smelled of mould when we got home. It was very unpleasant and overwhelming. Airing the house and spraying glen 20 didn't help. The fan and light over kitchen table didn't work nor did the outdoor sensor light. Light globes were out in bathroom, rangehood and one flouro globe in lounge didn't work either. Light globes in laundry and on front verandah were scary as they kept flickering while switched on and turned off by themselves even though we hadn't turned the switches off. The white kettle provided was completely black on the inside, obviously had never ever been cleaned before. Tap in bathroom fell off in my hand

Weekend beach stay

This is our second time staying here. The location is amazing. The facilities are everything you need for a weekend/school holiday family getaway. So close to the beach and even if there is an issue the owners were accessible and had the problem fixed immediately.

Quiet getaway

The entry process was easy, the property was clean, the town was quiet. We walked around town, spent time on the beach, grabbed a coffee from the general store, chatted, and ate. Perfect.

Does what it says on the tin

We love Seaspray, 90 Mile Beach is one of Victoria's best kept secrets and the town is a bit like having a beach holiday in the 1980s. The house is a classic beach shack with some modern updates. We were there during the coldest Easter weekend in decades and the house was cold with its old louvers and minimal insulation, the new gas heater was very appreciated, but guests do need to bring their layers and extra blankets. We had them, but don't come unprepared! Some additional electric heaters in the bedrooms could be a good addition to the house especially the kid's back bedroom. Otherwise we had a wonderful time and the kids loved the yard and play equipment. Thank you for hosting us!

Give it a miss

This is a budget priced house so don’t expect anything more. Seaspray beach is lovely and this house is an easy walk to the beach shop and SLSC. There is very limited ammenities in the town so come prepared with adequate supplies for your stay. Neither of us were able to get phone or internet coverage off our own phones in town but the house has decent internet provided. The house is tired and dirty, think dead flies on surfaces, sand in shower, toothpaste on vanity. Our bonus was a dead cat or rabbit in the back yard ( sorry wasn’t getting close enough to find out) on arrival and a live bat inside ( think about the origin of COVID 19). We were sent a email two days prior to arrival saying the access details were contained inside . They weren’t and when we chased up were told they had had a busy week. We approached Stephanie with these concerns at the time of our stay with a response of fobbing us off , very similar to her replies to other negative reviews. We had hoped she would at least be sympathetic as we would prefer not to leave a negative review. We will be interested in her response to this one.

Great Location and cute beach house

We had a lovely stay down at Seaspray, quaint little house and great back yard for the kids and dogs. The only things we picked up on was the dishwasher doesn’t work, also there was left over meals in the oven which had gone mouldy. There was no outdoor tap that worked. Other than that it was a great house and we had a great time. Thank you

4 day family getaway

The property was clean and provided every comfort you need for a family beach side stay. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the required equipment and we were able to create lovely meals for 6 people. The creature comforts of Foxtel was an added bonus. We had a lovely stay and would love to come back and experience the house during the warmer weather so we can utilise the closeness to the beach.

All good

FIne place, clean and functional, Would be nice to have an outdoor area to sit in. The Satellite connect was way too flaky to be useful, would recommend the owner just puts 4G aerial on the roof and connects via 4G - a lot cheaper and more reliable

Dirty, disappointing

The house is a fibro shack so it's very old, worn out and tired. Think scuffed, chipped, cracked. It's obviously had very heavy use over the past ten years. We didn't really care that it was a bit tired and old, but the dirt and grime was revolting. Tile grout on the floor was thick with dirt and grime and discoloured, the kitchen table had spills that hadn't been wiped up, the kitchen utensil and cutlery draws were filthy with dust, crumbs, and splashes of something that had dried. We have stayed in a lot of places but this was the first accomodation where we didn't use the kitchen at all and drove to cafes instead. I highly doubt the COVID cleaning protocols were followed before our arrival. The mattresses were stained and mattress protectors included pubic hairs and other brown stains. When I sent photos to the host she said these were texta marks. They were 100% not texta marks. The lean-to at the back of the house contains the bathroom and toilet and the ceiling is very low- I'm 174cms and my head touched the roof so it's not ideal for taller people. Lots of internal walls didn't meet in the corner so there are cracks where daylight and wind comes through. Even with all doors and windows closed the house was constantly full of mosquitos so the kids got eaten alive. The parents of the couple who own the property are camped in the yard behind a fence and this may bother some people. The wiring is old and potentially dangerous because we couldn't charge three devices at the same time without tripping the circuit breaker. This property needs a serious deep clean, re-wiring and a repaint. Positives were that new mattress protectors were provided after we pushed for them. The hosts parents were quick to provide these since they were camped in the backyard. There are some new cushions on the couch and couch covers that look nice. Check in/out was easy, a key safe is provided. We wouldn't stay here again. The property is in such poor condition. Even if this were budget accomodation it should still be clean. We sent pictures to friends who run similar properties and they were horrified.

This property is perfect for families. Everything you need. If had to complain it would be not being able to watch foxtel channels, owner doesn't give out code (strange considering they are paying for it so why not let people use it) neighbour is very cranky and told the children off for playing loud on the playground in the middle of the day.

The stay was great!

We had so much fun, the fridge was working, the internet was a bit slow, and a nice walk to the beach. The kids had a lot of fun hanging out on the playground and in the house. The bunk beds were a bit wobbly though, but other than that, it was really good. Overall the stay was great!
