Young Revival in Old Algiers
Welcome to our new construction home in the historic Algiers Point neighborhood of New Orleans! We're right across the river road from the Mississippi, and a 15 minute walk to the ferry that brings you to the heart of downtown and the French Quarter. There's also plenty to do and see in Algiers Point, the 2nd oldest neighborhood in New Orleans, which is extremely walk-able and has a hidden-gem status among locals. I was born and raised in this neighborhood and happy to guide your stay!
Our home is in a historic part of New Orleans, however it is new construction with modern features. The house is two-story, 11' ceilings with beautiful porch and balcony settings. Hardwood floors and tiled bathrooms throughout. The backyard is fenced for privacy, and there is driveway space for two vehicles. Our home has the 'smart' amenities, from the security system, thermostats, keypad entry, and so on, making coming and going very convenient. Although this booming neighborhood has several houses under construction, none of them are adjacent and work stops mid-afternoon. The street we're on is very quiet and safe.

My name is John and I was born and raised on Algiers Point in New Orleans. I attended University of Colorado Boulder where I met my wife, Erika. We graduated and 3 years later relocated to live in New Orleans, the city we both love and call home now.
Why they chose this property
Algiers Point is the best neighborhood in New Orleans for many reasons. Our favorite things about the neighborhood are: the quiet, quaint atmosphere of the area with the close proximity to the fun hubbub of downtown, the passionate, wonderful neighbors we have, and rich cultural history of New Orleans' second-oldest neighborhood. Our home is safe, quiet and retreated far enough from the main river road (1 block) to provide peace of mind, but also within very close walking distance of popular bars and restaurants, not least of all the ferry to downtown.
What makes this property unique
The spacious interior comfortably fits 8 guests, with a backyard and plenty of street parking (2 offstreet driveway spots as well), which is a hot commodity this close to downtown New Orleans. Algiers Point is also a very safe neighborhood, walkable day and night.
