Charming villa in the heart of the hills, private heated pool, Carcassonne

At the heart of Cathar country, ideally located between the medieval Cities of Carcassonne and Mirepoix, Villa Rani is a haven of peace and unspoilt nature. Surrounded by hills, forests, vineyards shimmering colors, this is an ideal setting for a relaxing holiday for nature lovers, outdoor sports enthusiasts, hiking, ride for couples, families.
Many natural, historic and cultural, are charged with exciting story, waiting for you to deliver you their charm and mystery: the medieval cities of Carcassonne and Mirepoix, Cathar castles, the upper Aude valley with its unusual villages Rennes les Bains, Rennes le Chateau, Bugarach. You will discover Limoux, its vineyards, terroir of Blanquette, the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean (1h) and many other remarkable sites.
We designed the Villa Rani for your well-being with ecological materials, you will feel close to nature. All rooms have direct access to the outside. The rooms each have a terrace with armchair or garden furniture. Rani Villa is surrounded by relaxing landscape.

The pool area for private use is spacious, comfortable, it will welcome you for a pleasant moment of relaxation. The pool is 9 x 3 meters, it is surrounded by a large wooden deck and a shaded area. It is located about thirty meters from the Villa. Summer lounge, sunbathing, view of the surrounding nature, chlorine-free pool, heated from early May to late October.

Everything is together for your well-being and if the heart invites you to enjoy the Ayurvedic treatments of Basanti, massage, relaxation, and yoga classes of Jean Pierre.

You will also enjoy the aromatics of the garden that smell good southern thyme, rosemary, sage, basil, verbena. Villa Rani is waiting for you for a quality stay.

We hebben een fijn verblijf gehad in het huis. De gastheer en vrouw geven je veel privacy en als je hen nodig hebt, zijn ze er meteen om je te helpen. Het zwembad is zeker een pluspunt, maar ons jongste dochtertje van 2 jaar vond het net iets te fris. We hebben een fijne vakantie gehad in Donazac.

Tranquillité

La propriété d'1 hectare se situe en pleine nature avec une belle vue dégagée, c'est le royaume du calme et du silence. La maison est agréable, tant à l'intérieur que dehors, où il y a plusieurs terrasses au choix selon les heures et le temps. Plein de sites intéressants à visiter alentour, des marchés locaux sympa, pour faire les courses environ 15mn de petites routes sinueuses jusqu'à Limoux. Les propriétaires qui vivent à côté sont discrets et charmants. La cerise sur le gâteau : les massages ayurvédiques de Basanti, moments merveilleux et apaisants. En résumé, un séjour très relaxant !

A real gem

Villa Rani is located in a beautiful and peaceful setting on the edge of a small village. It has a light and airy feel and is decorated, furnished and equipped to a very good standard. Having access to an immaculately maintained swimming pool is a further attraction. The garden around the villa has a natural feel and there are numerous places for sitting and outdoor eating. The friendly and helpful owner was there to welcome us on our arrival and, although ready to provide assistance if needed, left us to ourselves throughout our stay. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Villa Rani and have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Genoten van heerlijke woning en indrukwekkende omgeving

We hebben het enorm naar ons zin gehad in Villa Rani, de gastheer was zorgzaam, behulpzaam en hield ook privacy goed in de gaten. Het is een heerlijke plek en een mooie, rustige basis om de omgeving te verkennen; meer dan de moeite waard en we komen zeker terug 💕🌹

Delightful Eco Property

Amazing ecological bungalow in its own well laid out gardens. Very spacious, plenty of room to move around in, well planned out. Plenty of cupboard space with hangers. Useful kitchen with fridge, oven with electric hob., microwave electric kettle and toaster etc. We slept well waking up to glorious weather, with only one wet day in four weeks. There is a E.Leclerc supermarket in Limoux which sells just about everything, just a few miles away. Our favourite town was the medieval town of Mirepoix with it’s magnificent Church. The scenery and views are stunning all around the Midi Pyrenees. We enjoyed a lovely relaxing holiday. The owners are great, living nearby and offered us their attention if needed.Thank you Jean Pierre and Basanti. John and Shirley

Peaceful home in rural France

We enjoyed the rural location close to wonderful hiking trails and mountain views. Wonderful bakeries and stores were only a 20 minute drive on gorgeous, but narrow and winding roads. Jean Pierre was available to answer any questions, but did not interfere with our stay. The spacious home has a lovely garden and outdoor patios. We did not use the pool during our stay in October, but it was available.

Rural and peaceful

Very quiet and peaceful. More rural than expected, it is a 20 minute drive to shops on narrow but pretty roads. Practical points - more cutlery and crockery is needed and the lovely pool is the otherside of the owners property. We enjoyed our stay.

Donazac and Villa Rani is the perfect place for a quiet relaxing holiday. Spotlessly clean, pool great, the views were outstanding. JeanPierre and Basanti were excellent hosts.

Superbe endroit

Location au top, spacieuse, très lumineuse et pièces bien agencées. Tout est décoré avec goût. Les propriétaires sont charmants et discrets. La piscine est super même si un peu fraîche. La vue est magnifique et la région est superbe. Je recommande cet endroit sans hésiter. Merci pour ces moments de vacances inoubliables.

Needs some TLC

Excellent location overlooking the village of Donazac. Nice to have seating and tables on 3 sides of the property and the pool area was a delight: clean, well-kept and spacious, even it was some 50 metres from the house and had to be accessed over a neglected area of garden with an uneven surface and some dangerous holes along the way. As for the outside area of the property and the kitchen, they looked loke they needed some tender loving care by the owners: weeds were growing through the gravel areas, plants were overgrown and obstructing the paths, one recliner chair near the house was torn, both recliners around the pool had seen better days. Being warned to be careful when sliding the door of a wardrobe in the hall because they might fall off is not reassuring!! The kitchen equipment and utensils looked like they had been randomly sourced from a charity shop/FRIP. Many were stained so our first job was to make sure they were clean by loading the dishwasher on our first night and wiping down the cupboard doors and worktops. In this age of COVID, surfaces that are sticky to touch provide no reassurance that they have been properly cleaned. There was no welcome-pack. Perhaps all small things but they are not up the the standard that we have come to expect of VRBO properties. The indications are there that more care and attention needs to be taken in maintaining the fabric and the cleanliness of this property.

Séjour à Donazac

Maison très bien située à l'abri du monde. Pour un séjour d'une semaine, la présence de placards ou de commodes serait la bienvenue. Au niveau du matériel de cuisine, il me paraît inutile de préciser de ne pas partir avec les couverts tant ceux ci sont d'une qualité médiocre.

Fantastique séjour

Nous avons passé une magnifique semaine chez Rani. Lieu plein de calme et de beauté. Le logement est tout à fait ce que nous voulions avec des couleurs et matériaux très apaisants. Merci à Jean Pierre, Rani, Patrick .... pour ce séjour. Gite que nous recommandons fortement.

Wir hatten eine ganz besonderen Stopp während unserer Elternzeit in dieser Location! Die Gastgeber und ihr selbst erschaffenes Paradies waren unsere beste Ferienhauserfahrung, die wir bisher gemacht haben! So viel Ruhe und Natur! Ein wirklich besonderer Ort! Wir können einen Urlaub dort nur empfehlen! Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt es schon in 15min Autofahrt. Wir haben aber meist auf dem Rückweg von unseren Ausflügen eingekauft. Die Umgebung ist traumhaft! Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Calme,nature et authenticité

Nous cherchions le calme absolu...la villa Rani nous a comblé, située aux milieux des vignes dans un hameau d une centaine de personnes. Nous voulions etre au coeur de la nature...la villa Rani nous a comblé,le confort,les équipements la propreté ,le jardin magnifique, les terrasses autour la maison pour profiter de ce superbe environnement. Et une tres belle rencontre avec nos hôtes. Nous reviendrons assurément. Un grand merci à Jean-Pierre et Basanti.
