About this property

Dune Hideaway Aldinga Beach

Dune Hideaway is a 3 bedroom house set on 1000 square metres of sand dune - you'll get your feet sandy as soon as you step out the door! With two bedrooms with queensize beds, plus a third room with 2 single bunks (4 beds), it sleeps up to 8. It's perfect for families, couples or friends.

The large open space dining and lounge is made for RELAXING with three sofas and a dining setting for 6. We put in a new kitchen in 2023 with dishwasher, front loader washing machine contained in a cupboard, new fridge and oven.

There is a large bathroom with a bath and shower, separate toilet, and a washing machine available for use in the shed.

We have ducted evaporative air-conditioner and a cosy combustion heater (please note it is unguarded, as per the photos, so please consider if this will be an issue with the age of your children

Pets are welcome in the non-carpeted areas of the house and off furnishings.

Linen is BYO (however quilts, quilt covers and pillows are provided) however you can arrange to hire sheets, pillowcases, towels and tea towels. Please advise at the time of booking if you wish to hire linen at a cost of $20 per bed.

Aldinga Beach and the Fleurieu

Dune Hideaway is at the quiet southern end of Aldinga Beach, right near Silver Sands beach and the Aldinga Scrub Conservation Park. Set on a dirt road, you really do feel like you're far away from the city despite being only 30 mins from Flinders University (on the Southern Expressway).
You have the convenience of local take-away stores and restaurants if you so desire, and a playground around the corner at the Aldinga Surf Life Saving Club.

Dune Hideaway is a perfect starting point for exploring the wineries, beaches and environment of the Fleurieu Peninsula. Visit the McLaren Vale Wine Region, Willunga Markets, Deep Creek Conservation Park and other coastal towns such as Normanville, Carrickalinga and Port Willunga.

Cleaning & Minimum Bookings

Cleaning fee is $85 per booking.

Minimum 2 night stay for most of the year.

Public Holiday Weekends – minimum 3 night stay (except Easter, 4 nights)

School Holidays minimum 3 night stay (except during Summer School Holidays – 7 Day minimum)

Great retreat
It was a great family and pet friendly experience. The house was spacious and very well equiped and it has a big fenced backyard for a safe place for the dogs. Just across the road from the beach. The all experience was fantastic.

Fantastic home away from home!
This property was so comfortable and in a perfect location. Just a 3 minute walk to the beach. The street is so quiet and the house is cool, comfortable and pet friendly too! Our little schnauzer loved the big, sandy backyard! The new kitchen is brilliant. I would definitely recommend this property and will return!

House was beautifully appointed with everything you could need. From board games, modern t.v with Netflix and Youtube etc... Amazing airconditioning and great little combustion heater. Good water pressure in the shower, comfortable beds! The list goes on! 100% would recommend to friends and family if staying in the area or holidaying. The host was more than accommodating and easy to communicate with. Could not fault our stay. :)

Fabulous home hidden away, literally. Quiet location and a short walk to the beach but also a good base to explore the south and a easy train trip into the city. Comfortable home with space for teenagers, easy to clean, great backyard. Thank you for letting us use your home to recharge and refresh.

Built upon the sand
But, a solid cottage. Well appointed missing only a dishwasher. Very clean. Lovely sandy bush garden. On a quiet road and set back even from that. A very short walk alng the road and through the dunes to the beautiful beach.

Well maintained dog-friendly and close to the beach
We had a lovely time here, the place had everything we needed and owner was very communicative and helpful. The backyard is enclosed but the fence isn’t super high so I wouldn’t put an escape dog in there. It’s a nice short walk to the beach through the dunes and a lovely quiet area in general.

Beach Therapy
Dune Hideaway is a practical place that is very easy to settle in to for a relaxing stay. Close to the beach and Aldinga Scrub Conservation Park it is in a perfect location for walking. The added bonus is its proximity to McLaren Vale wineries. We enjoyed a much needed dose of beach therapy or should I say Dune Hideaway Therapy. ☺️

Catherine was wonderful with great communication and detailed information. We only spent a few days at Catherine's home for a wedding but really enjoyed the location and lovely walks along the beach. It's a spacious home and has comfy beds.

A wonderful beachside retreat
We had a great few days at the Dune hideaway- the house is very well equipped, and Murphy our Irish terrier loved the walks along the beach. We also loved Cath’s photographs around the cottage, as a fellow photographer it’s nice to see those personal things. Cath is a great communicator, so there was plenty of information to fill in us in on local attractions - we had a wonderful meal at Sellick’s pub watching the sun set over the ocean. A great spot to relax.

Nice stay
We stayed at Dune Hideaway for 6 nights and the house was comfortable. Living area is spacious with comfy lounges. We enjoyed sitting on the front verandah in the late afternoon, after a day at the beach. The kitchen is well equipped. The bathroom is quite large. The main bedroom is a good size, with a large walk thru wardrobe leading into the bathroom. The other two bedrooms - one with a queen bed and the other with two sets of bunks, provided ample room for the kids. A laid back property that was perfect for a beach break
