About this property

Beautiful Log Home Across From The BWCA

This newly constructed log home of Norway Pine logs is nestled in the woods on the waterfront of Seagull Lake directly across from the BWCA. The home has all of the charm of the true north woods cabin including a large screened wrap-around porch with cedar bunk beds, and the classic round family table for dinners or playing cards on the porch while watching the sunset. The large main room has a west facing picture window that looks over the BWCA directly across the lake, and the kitchen is fully outfitted with new appliances.

The cabin sleeps up to 8 people with a main bedroom, a large loft area with 3 beds, a den with a double bed for 2, and the porch bunk bed with a double and a single bed.

Seagull Lake is the quintessential northern MN lake with over hundreds of islands to explore, superb fishing, and swimming in water that is clear and pure.

Includes a canoe, 2 kayaks, and 16' aluminum fishing boat and 9.9hp Honda motor.

Great stay on Seagull Lake
Great property for families , kids love sleeping on the porch bunk beds and hearing the loons and whiporwills at night. Plenty of room for the grandparents to join us as well. Nice great room to sit, talk and play board games. Kitchen well equipped for making family meals. The kayaks and short path to the dock are great, lots of fun paddling into the BWCA for a day trip. Also fun to visit Chik Wauk nature center and hike their trails. Property is very clean and modern, beautiful log home, great communication with the owners.

Seagull Family Vacation
Had a wonderful stay, kids loved the sea kayaks and sleeping in the screen porch. Saw lots of wildlife: two moose, a wolf, a pair of snowshoe hare, grouse with babies, turtles and a resident bass Ernie who lives under the dock. Very nice modern cabin, the loft is really cozy and great location for a family adventure!

Beautiful, peaceful location, great get away!
We have been coming to this location for several years now and it is our annual retreat. Love to come here to unwind, fish, catch up and just enjoy the all around beauty. Tim and Judy are great hosts and the cabin is just lovely. Can't wait for our next stay!

Family friendly fishing getaway
Enjoyed our stay at Seagull Lake. Tim and Judy were easy to communicate with and responded quickly to questions we had before our stay. The house easily accommodated our group of 8 (two families with teens). Our families enjoyed using the boat and kayaks available with the property. The kitchen included all of the household cooking supplies we needed. The porch area was a bit cool to sleep in on cold nights, but provided a great overflow area during our stay. Although the fishing was a bit slow the week we visited, we were able to catch small mouth bass, brook trout, and a few pike. This cabin is off the beaten path and provided us with some much needed peace and quiet. Beautiful area and a peaceful retreat. We would definitely stay again.

Already looking forward to next year
Our arrival was just 48 hours after the BWCA closed and an hour or so before the area was put into pre-evacuation status. I cannot say enough good things about the owner. Extremely professional, insured we had all information that we needed, and personally attended to details that only he could to make our stay safer. We chose to stay & are very glad we did. The home is absolutely beautiful; we realized the silver lining of not being able to travel far was hanging out in a very clean, well thought out and guest friendly accommodation. Kids and I loved the ease-of-use with kayaks and canoe. (immediate be area is not part of the BWCA.) We caught several bass via the motor boat and daily were serenaded by loons. Really all you need to pack are clothes and food - everything else is there.

Relaxing
Great communication with the owner and his wife who were there at our arrival. Extremely clean EVERYWHERE! No dust or cobwebs on any of the logs throughout the home. Nice to have access to the motorboat and canoe and kayaks. Very lovely and quiet. I loved sleeping out on the porch but everyone said their beds were comfortable. Nice to have a caretaker stop by to pick up trash. Close to trails and enjoyed the Historical Society museum. Highly recommend!! You are off the grid!

Close to the BWCA
We had a wonderful time staying at the cabin. We enjoyed sitting on the dock and watching the loons. The cabin accommodated all 7 of us. The only down fall was that there was only1 bathroom. The trees are slightly overgrown so its hard to see the lake from inside the living room. It would be a pretty amazing view if the trees were trimmed. The owner was very quick to respond to any questions we had. We would recommend this rental to others!

A little piece of Heaven
If you are looking for a comfortable place to get away from it all, this is it. This property is ideally located on a small bay off Seagull. Fishing was good, canoeing was excellent and the house had all the amenities we could ever need. The dock, the deck and in the screen porch (when the mosquitoes came out at night) were our favorite areas to relax. Thanks for a great time. We very much appreciated you sharing this wonderful property with us.

COVID Honeymoon
GREAT stay. Fantastic cabin - newer, clean, and quiet. Tim gets an A+ for communicating with us beforehand to make sure we were comfortable with everything. The cabin is in a perfect setting on one of the last pieces of private land before the BWCA. The kayaks and canoe were in great shape - we used them daily and easily paddled to the quieter parts of Seagull Lake. Although we did not use the motorboat, that was certainly a perk not available on other rental options. Our only two constructive comments: the mattresses could do for an upgrade and the picture on the listing is a bit misleading - in line with previous comments, the trees have now grown to cover up the view of the lake from the deck and living room, so there is near-complete obstruction of the amazing lake sunset. If you want to see the sunset, you can go out on the dock. If it were my cabin, I'd probably keep the trees for privacy. Just choose to spend all day on the lake rather than needing to sit and stare at it!

Couples Retreat
The property and location were just what the six of us were looking for! We enjoyed the log home, views of the lake, and the call of the loons as we watched the sun set across the lake each evening from the dock. We hiked to Magnetic Rock one day and really enjoyed the scenery! We are already looking at future dates for a return trip. Awesome property!!

Great location near BWCA
Best of both worlds being able to day trip into BWCA with the amenities of home in a spacious and well appointed cabin. Boat/motor provided were handy to get out and explore in the motor zone on some really windy days. The area was ravaged by a fire back in 07 so there is a fair amount of new growth coming up along the property. If it were my place, I would consider starting to selectively thin a few of the trees in front of the main floor windows/deck to provide a better view of lake.
