THINGS TO DO
Erowal Bay is a quiet village on St. Georges Basin in an area of natural beauty surrounded by kangaroos, pelicans and other wildlife, but only minutes from Jervis Bay and the townships of Hyams Beach, Vincentia and Huskisson . It is located 3 hours from Sydney or 2.5 hours from Canberra and Sydney airport. The area is perfect for walking, playing tennis at the local village courts or relaxing in the sleepy village atmosphere surrounded by kangaroos and other wildlife.
Waterskiing, fishing, canoeing and windsurfing are just some of the activities to be enjoyed on St George's Basin.
There is a boat ramp 300 metres away, and local food fired pizza (generally three nights a week).
Attractions at nearby Jervis Bay (Huskisson, Vincentia and Hyams Beach) include dolphin cruises, scuba diving, cafes, restaurants, golf course, movie theatre and supermarkets.
Booderee National Park, a 10 minute drive away is a place of outstanding natural beauty. 'Booderee' is an Aboriginal word from the Dhurga language meaning 'bay of plenty' or 'plenty of fish'. Booderee is owned by the Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community and has always been a significant place for Koori people. Please care for the land and waters as this is a very special place. Booderee offers a wide range of activities. Learn about Koori culture and traditional foods through Booderee's Aboriginal interpretive program. Enjoy a wide range of walks, surf at Cave beach or swim among the fish in the tranquil waters of Green Patch beach. The historic Cape St George Lighthouse is the perfect location for whale and bird watching.
Visit The botanic Gardens in Booderee National Park (open 9am - 5pm daily) or stop by the visitor centre (9am - 4pm daily.)
