Mill Cottage is the perfect destination for families with children and groups wanting a relaxing time away with plenty of activities to do on the property - you'll wonder how you'll ever leave....

Located in Quorrobolong at the base of the Watagan Mountain Range, only 10 minutes from Cessnock, Mill Cottage is a two storey, four bedroom cottage sleeping ten adults. Mill Cottage is perfect family friendly base to those wanting to explore the joys of the wonderful Hunter Valley.

When staying at Mill Cottage, you have exclusive use of 5 acres of gorgeous gardens, parklands, bush and the amazing lagoon pool, external games/club room and fire pit!


SLEEP

Mill cottage is a 4 bedroom cottage sleeping 10 adults. All bedrooms are designed to maximise comfort and restful sleep. Reading lamps and towel racks are provided in all rooms. There are 2 large rooms at either end of the house, one with king bed, and the other with 2 king singles. In between, the bunk room is fitted with 2 bunk beds (4 singles each with individual reading lamps) and a room with a Queen Bed.

Bunk Room - a room fitted with 2 sets of bunks each with individual reading lamps
Queen Room - a smaller room fitted with a Queen bed

All rooms are fitted with overhead or wall mounted fans.
All bedding and linen is provided.
A portacot is available on request.

REST

Cool down or sun yourself by the Lagoon Pool, swing in the hammock or wander through the gardens.
In cooler months curl up with a great novel by the fireplace or on the lounge.
Find a quiet corner on this gorgeous 5 acre property and enjoy the sunshine or shade.

PLAY

Mill Cottage is fitted out with loads of games and activities for the young, and the young at heart.
Bounce on the trampoline or challenge your friends to chess in the garden
Many boardgames are provided to share and laugh with friends late into the evening.
Visits the external clubroom, shoot some pool on the 3/4 Pool Table or the foosball/mini pool table (for kids), play darts, have a drink at the bar or lounge .

EXPLORE

There is plenty to do in the great outdoors at Mill Cottage
•Find a quiet spot to go bird watching - try to identify some of the local fauna from the book inside.
•Gather around the fire pit to toast marshmallows and enjoy some of the regions finest produce.

EAT

- Share a meal inside or outside at Mill Cottage - table and seating for 10 is provided both inside and outside.
- A BBQ and firepit are available for guest use.


NOTES:

Please note that we operate with a very strict limit of max 10 guests at any time during your stay. This includes day visitors and is necessary due to the fact that we are not on town water or garbage and operate via a septic system. Mill Cottage is has a strictly applied “no party” policy - we take our neighbours peace and privacy very seriously.

GETTING THERE

Mill Cottage is at Quorrobolong,.
From Sydney take the Cessnock Exit at Freemans Waterhole and head towards Cessnock.
Travel times are about 1 hour and 20 minutes from the F3 entrance at Wahroonga, or 45 minutes from Newcastle.
Mill Cottage is 10 minutes from the heart of Cessnock

Fantastic weekend getaway!
We loved our stay at Liz's place! The property is stunning and the photos don't do it justice! The dedicated club / pool room is a man cave of dreams, and the tranquil pool and firepit were a bonus. With two separate lounge rooms, the house is very spacious and big enough for two family's. We'll definitely stay again!

Everything about the Mill Cottage was just perfect for a secluded getaway yet close to Hunter Valley wineries if needed, and the host is amazingly responsive, helpful and accommodating! The only minor feedback from my group was it would have been good to have pool towels on site or been advised to bring those, and also none of the TV remotes were working/had batteries. All in all, highly recommended and would stay again! Many thanks.

All round great property!
Property was great, plenty of room, great pool and games room, very clean, modern, all the facilities you need, highly recommend. Some of our party of guests struggled with the phone reception available at the house but I found it great to switch off for a while.

Spacious and plenty to do
We went for my husband's bday to visit the wineries in Hunter, we were a group of 10 and the house was huge! Rooms were a good size, kitchen was modern and there were two sitting areas. We loved the fire pit and if you have kids they is alot for them to do including a trampoline, sandpit, separate shed with pool table and games and plenty of room to run around. Location was secluded and about 15-20 mins drive from the main town. Only issue is there is no wi-fi and some of us had no reception.

The property was spacious, modern and homey! Our group was so comfortable. There is loads of indoor and outdoor space, we absolutely loved the games room out the back and the multiple fire places (with plenty of firewood provided). The kitchen is well equipped and the beds were comfy. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Third Stay, Always giving Slay!
This is our third stay at the property. Our Friends have all agreed that this will be an annual occurence! The property is fabulous! Has everything you require for a nice weekend away. Plenty of things to do, and the serenity is unreal! We enjoyed all three firepits/fireplaces and were plenty warm with each room having heating. The "shed" is such a huge plus! Was the perfect room to host our annual competitive cocktail competition! Thanks again Liz! Will defs be back in '24. x

It was very good but not for families that have small kids because it is very dangerous
It was very beautiful place, it had a lot of fun stuff and it had everything a house could need but the pots and pans were not good for cooking because the quality was not usable anymore.The bedroom service wasn’t very good we all got back pain because of the mattress.

Girls weekend
Got together for a nice girls weekend away for my sisters 21st, ranging from ages 2 to 52! Everyone had a blast, there was just so much to do. We all want to go back again and make it a yearly thing and all out partner's now want to come check it out since we have not been able to stop talking about it. Phenomenal stay

Back again!
Our trip was originally planned for August 2021 but unfortunately lockdowns put that on hold. March 2022 we were finally back baby! This is my second stay at this property. Last time was nearly 5 years ago and was superb then. I had a few friends that had seen the home last time and a few that had were new to it. Wow wow wow! After the recent renovation this place has is even better! Which I didn't think was possible! Brand new kitchen with stone benchtops and an island bench, with quality appliances was amazing for myself that loves to cook and host! The new club house in the back shed was amazing and such a great space where you can relax and have a lil boogie. The home was so well equipped with games and things to do and even had a few pantry staples which was so welcomed. The bedrooms all spotless and the new renovated bathrooms so clean! The surrounds are gorgeous and we even found time to relax in the pool despite the wet and cooler weather. We will definitely be back, and have made a promise with our friends that we defs won't be leaving it so long! Thank you soo much Liz for your attention to detail, the lovely home and the the communication last year keeping me updated on what was happening with lockdowns etc. Thanks muchly!

Wine Country retreat falls short of expectations
Mill Cottage is a well refurbished property with many outdoor amenities to entertain a family stay. Communications and logistics were prompt and flawless. The cottage was clean and tidy. Kitchen facilities were fine and the bedding was great. Two shortcomings affected our stay. Firstly, as other reviewers have noted, there is only a single inverter AC in the upstairs hallway. This made keeping the cottage cool in the warm weather challenging. Secondly, the wi-fi wasn't available in the house to guests, which is a surprising oversight at a property in this price range and meant we had to stream over 4G.

Perfect getaway
