A wonderful Christmastime stay

Our family had a wonderful stay in this home in Natchitoches over Christmas! The property is beautifully preserved, offering a perfect blend of old-world charm and modern comfort. The home was exceptionally spacious, giving everyone plenty of room to relax and enjoy. It was immaculately clean, and the thoughtful details throughout made it feel warm and inviting. We especially appreciated how peaceful and relaxing the atmosphere was—ideal for spending quality time with family during the holidays. If you’re looking for a unique and tranquil getaway, this home is a fantastic choice!

Wonderful Stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved the house, grounds and pool. We met with Jerry, the host, upon our arrival so he could give us the keys and go over a few items with us. Extremely nice and very helpful about places to eat. He even checked several times after we left on our family member that had a medical emergency during our visit. We definitely plan to stay here again. Highly recommend staying at this lovely home.

Fabulous House

We had a family gathering with ages ranging from 5 - 69 and everyone absolutely loved the house. It is even more beautiful than the pictures show. The rooms are spacious, the bedrooms are quiet and the beds comfy. The kids loved the pool and swam for hours. The screened in portion is wonderful. The hosts were friendly and quick to respond to our questions. We would definitely stay here again.

A Vintage Home in Natchitoches

What a beautiful home to experience Natchitoches! The house had five bedrooms to easily accommodate all seven of us ladies. It was decorated so lovely and our host left us special gifts for our arrival. Jerry met us there and explained everything we needed to know to make our stay wonderful. Magical Place

We loved everything about this magical historic home. The owner greeted us and gave us a tour of the home. They also provided us with a welcome bottle of wine and delicious homemade oatmeal raisin cookies, which we enjoyed throughout our stay. Everything in the home is special--decor, serving ware, etc.--so you feel like you're at a home, not a vacation rental. Loved the Christmas trees throughout the home, which were decorated with Mardi Gras decor. Plenty of space. Screened in porch on the back was a lovely spot to sit and have a glass of wine and watch thunderstorms. The home is also walking distance to Front Street and close to all Natchitoches sights. Would recommend and stay here again when in the area.

More than Amazing!

The best part of this home was every single room including both porches! I just couldn’t get enough of it. Living areas were comfortable and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Bedrooms are large, great mattresses and bedding…even had Christmas sheets. It’s such an impressive home and the cleanest I’ve ever stayed in. The walk over to the river area is a short 10 minutes. Jerry and Mary made sure we were well taken care of and were close by if we needed anything. Of course they had already thought of everything so we just relaxed and loved every minute of our time there.

Vacay 22

Jerry and Mary, The Elizabeth Lane house was amazing! Your generous hospitality was beyond any we have encountered over the past 10 years with VRBO. The home is beautiful, just as described and very comfortable. The house is open but still has spaces if you want to curl up, hide and read a book. The kitchen has everything you need if you want to cook full meals or just snack. We enjoyed the fabulous pool, the landscaping was beautiful , Baby Boy ( the fabulous Cat) loves his snuggles, the quiet neighborhood and the wonderful history of Natchitoches. The restaurants were all amazing, the historic plantations were beautiful and the people were all very friendly. This home will never be empty! If you are even remotely interested in staying you should book immediately! Hope to see you again :) Kim and Krista

Christmas Girls Trip

Our group of 9 girlfriends stayed at this house for a week-end during the Christmas Festival. You walk in the door of this house and say WOW!! Beautiful house and immaculately CLEAN. It was a perfect weekend weather wise for December, so when we were not downtown we were all on the back screened in porch. Besides being a great house, the location was perfect. We parked our cars in the driveway when we arrived on Friday, and did not move them again until we left on Sunday. The walk to town was an easy 6 blocks. The house is exactly as described on VRBO. If you are looking for the perfect place to stay in Natchitoches....THIS IS IT..

The property was among the best. I have stayed in these type of facilities in numerous local and foreign locations. So very upscale and some not. I found this one to be one of the more memorable ones. Property was all it was advertised to be and yhe owners were extremely attentive and respective. Few times over the fifty plus years of travelling this world have I found this level of efficiency, attentiveness, respect and interest in ensuring this trip was all it could be.

We had a love affair with Natchitoches for as long as we can remember - we visited with dear friends and our children when we could roll the kids to see the parade and sites in a old red wagon! Our adult children have so many fond memories of visiting Natchitoches - the Christmas festival is truly a wonderful time for the whole family. There are numerous festivals throughout the year - contact the Natchitoches Tourism office for the details.
We love visiting the plantations and area historic sites in the area. The food is delicious and the local folks are kind and friendly.
We welcome families with children to our home - many bed and breakfasts in the Natchitoches area do not.
People from all over the world will enjoy staying with us as we have lived and worked in the Middle East for over 10 years and were fortunate to be able to travel to Italy, France, South Africa BaliAustralia, Thailand, and the lovely countries in the Middle East such as Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, and UAE before returning back to the USA.
We love hosting people from all over the world and from different cultures !
We have Roku, Netflix for TV enjoyment ( no cable or local channels). We have a wonderful screened in porch with wicker rockers and a chaise lounge overlooking the peaceful backyard garden. The front porch has a porch swing - sit and have a glass of your favorite beverage and wave to the friendly locals driving by.
The home has a filtered water system and ceiling fans in all the bedrooms.
Wal Mart and Grocery stores are close by on Keyser Street for groceries and other essentials.
We want our guests to have a wonderful experience in Natchitoches - we can recommend restaurants and other activities that are off the beaten path.

.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with this gorgeous restored 1901 Planters Town home the minute we walked in the front door - the beautiful staircase and the antique fireplace mantel are so striking. This home has all the creature comforts of a new home while keeping the charm and character of the 1901 home it is.
We have 5 bedrooms and 3 full baths. 4 bedrooms have one queen bed, the attic nook bedroom has a full size antique iron bed and a children twin bed. ..There is plenty ofor a blow up mattress if you need one. The game area upstairs has an additional Flat Screen TV for the kiddos.
The kitchen has a commercial six burner stove and a filtered water system. Seating for 6 in the dining room.
We have WIFI and Netflix for our guests enjoyment - we do not have regular channels or cable.
We want our guests to feel at home and enjoy all that Natchitoches and the surrounding area has to offer.
Our home is on one of the oldest streets in East Natchitoches and is a short walk over the Church Street bridge to the historic downtown shops, pubs, and Cane River activities. The Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame is just over the bridge and the historic plantations are about 15 to 20 minutes away - be sure to save time to visit Melrose Plantation the home of Clementine Hunter the famed folk artist.
Our Henry Street home has so much charm and history. Our realtor Dawn Wells with Cane Heritage showed us just about everything on the market that was walking distance to the historic downtown. We fell in love with this totally renovated historic home the moment we walked in the door.

What makes this property unique

The Elizabeth Lane Guest House( Escapade de Vacances Historic Elizabeth Lane) is the perfect vacation home rental to enjoy your visit to Natchitoches and the surrounding area. You have the whole house for your family or group of friends enjoyment.
The home is totally renovated and comfortable with all the charm of a 1901 historic home with original hardwood floors, ship-lap wall and early 1900's wallpaper in one downstairs bedroom. Enjoy a soak in the claw foot tub. Sit on the screened in back porch and watch the birds and squirrels in our backyard- a great place for your morning coffee or evening glass of wine before bedtime. Our guests seem to spend a lot of time laughing and visiting on the back porch. We have a saying whats said stays on the porch.
We offer great weekday rates for those who prefer to avoid the crowds on weekends.
It is a great place to stay with friends or family to attend Northwestern State University sports and other functions or Natchitoches Festivals. Check with the Natchitoches Tourism Office for a year round schedule of events. The Farmers Markets on the bank of the Cane River are a lot of fun. Consider renting a kayak or taking a boat ride on the Cane River Queen excursion boat.
You are within walking distance to the historic downtown - go over to Stephens Ave and then to St. Clair - cross in front of the big white house on Williams Ave. on the Church Street bridge. Watch for the traffic both ways. You will find it is a easy walk over and you do not have to worry about looking for a parking space. If you do decide to drive go back a couple of streets and park by the Library or First Baptist Church and walk back.
No matter what brings you to Natchitoches let us help make your stay enjoyable and relaxing. Long term stays are welcome, we will gladly work with your corporate budget.
