About this property
Sparkling Cabin Springs
Centrally located within the Creswick townsite this small, compact cabin offers 1 double bedroom and a bunk room sleeping two. It has a generous front verandah leading to a large elevated terrace overlooking a picturesque lake and scenic views.
"Sparkling Springs Cabin" is unique as it offers two separate bedrooms sleeping up to four for one affordable rate, daily or weekly. The cabin offers a compact meals and lounge area with a modern kitchenette including all dining and cooking utensils. Heating and cooling are provided and there is a 32" flat screen TV/DVD and audio equipment. All linen is provided along with replacements. There is ample hot water supplying the shower and bathroom. Cleaning equipment and products are provided. There is ample off-street parking at the rear and a generous lawn area. A laundromat is available in the main street if required.
Well behaved pets welcome, smoking allowed outside only.
Location
The cabin is only a short stroll to the main street with it cafes, bars, supermarket, visitor information center and other amenities.
Heritage listed 'Calambeen Park' opposite is a series of lakes fed by underground springs. There are new walking trails and the visitor can enjoy scenic views of the large water lily lake and bird-life, make use of the jetty for small boating, take a swim in the historic bathing area with a separate children's pool, fish in the well stocked waters and use the electric BBQ area.
Sited at the western gateway to Hepburn Shire 'Sparkling Springs Cabin' is perfectly situated for short or day trips throughout the historic and panoramic goldfiels area with its various markets, activities and events.
For the tourist or traveller it is within easy driving access to Daylesford, Ballarat and Clunes (15-20 minutes). It is well serviced by public transport with a bus stop at the streets end and a railway station. There are good daily return connections to central Ballarat by bus or train including Melbourne. Other day connections include Bendigo and Daylesford.
Creswick is steeped in history and has an excellent museum and gallery space where one can explore the past and learn about its famous former citizens by birth including Norman Lindsay (controversial artist) and John Curtain (Australian prime-minister) along with many others.
The cabin is on the former site of Creswicks 'China Town', a painting of which can be viewed at the Ballarat Fine Art Gallery.
All in all there are many things to see and do as well as just relax in what is an ideal and scenic location.
