Fieldstone House in West Gippsland

Fieldstone house is a 100 year old homestead built from local stones off the property. The house is the location for the film "The more things change". Surrounded by rolling hills dotted with cows and abutting state park. The Baw Baw ranges cap off this tranquil vista. Serenity and privacy are in abundance.
The house is rustic and full of character. Modern facilities for your comfort include kitchen,(no dishwasher) dining facilities, bbq and outdoor settings. There are 4 bedrooms; 2 bedrooms with queen size beds and 2 bedrooms with 2 single beds each (total 8), and one bathroom. There are electric blankets and heaters in each bedroom to keep you toasty. 3 fireplaces with firewood supplied. 2 living areas, with pianola, hifi, books, dvds, cds, magazines.
Have a hit of tennis or laze by the pool whilst taking in the mountain views, Heated spa available. Please note that pool and spa area is shut down during winter period.
Go for a walk on the surrounding property and explore the forests, creeks and dams.
You will be greeted by a symphony of birdsongs in the mornings from rosellas, black parrots, cockatoos, king parrots and blue wrens. Other wildlife on the property include sambar deer, lyrebirds, wedge tail eagles and wombats.
Only 1.5 hours from Melbourne, this is a great place to escape and unwind. Immerse yourself in nature or sample the wares of the surrounding towns of Noojee and Neerim south.

We were lucky to get 4 hot days for our long weekend. The pool and grounds were lovely. Could want for nothing in the house. All needs are catered for.

A perfect way to celebrate my 40th birthday
Six of my closest girlfriends joined me to celebrate my birthday. We chatted for hours on the big comfy couches, read our books, went swimming, and played games at the dining room table. Absolutely perfect!

Great spot to park and unwind
7 of us landed at Fieldstone for a short 3 night break in January. It was wonderful. Well appointed kitchen with pots pans etc all you need. A BBQ for easy cooking and tools needed for cooking and cleaning included. Comfy beds, but some could use new pillows, so maybe BYO. Lots of space to roam or to zone out. Highlight for us all was the pool. We spent every evening in there after our traipsing about, and it was lovely. With no plans on our last day, the whole day was spent in the pool. Only improvement would be some night time lighting around the pool, so you could really chill out.Overall we were very happy with our stay, and Helen was excellent with comms pre and during the trip. Thank you!

I loved this property, it is beautiful both inside and outside. I highly recommend staying here even in the cold and wet of winter (we had 100 mm of rain over four days).

Amazing location on a hill with miles of views. Incredible stone house with aged trees and plants providing a most restful break from the hassle of the city. Warm and cosy sitting beside the open fire. We were lucky to have the Aurora Australis light up the sky with pink glow.

This property is very secluded and quiet with fantastic views of the surrounding mountains. The house has a cosy old world charm with a lovely garden. The pool and spa are a great added bonus for hours of fun.

From the long winding private driveway, right up to the beautiful old blue stone house, this property will not let you down. Photographs cannot do justice to the incredible views and prestige grounds. This property is the perfect getaway to escape the busy world and reset the clock. It was everything described and more!

Fantastic Family Getaway
We all loved the unique charm of the house. The beds were comfy and the kitchen well equipped. The pianola was also a hit. We enjoyed trekking around the farm and having a hit of tennis. An easy 1 hour trip to Mt Baw Baw and we saw plenty of wildlife as we left and entered the property including Wombats and wallabies so be sure to drive slowly and carefully.

Peace and quiet
From the moment you arrive at the front gates we where impressed. The views from the house are breathtaking. The house is charming and very comfortable. Everything we need for a few days relaxing is there. The weather was high 30 for all 4 days when were there and the house remained cool and the pool was put to go use. The pool cleaned it self overnight ever night and the heated spa allowed us to watch all the star come out . Sitting on the front veranda watch the cows and the only noise is Mother Nature. Ever saw a wombat returning to it burrow one morning. Perfect place to relax and unwind. Thank you for allowing us to share this enjoyable experience.

Returning guest, highly dissapointed :(
I have stayed at Fieldstone before and really loved it (Feb 2013) The highlight was the peace and quiet, the charm of the old stone cottage and the stunning crystal clear pool. Loved it and so did the kids. This stay however was a big let down. The house and grounds were as lovely as ever, but the pool was green and murky and had bugs and biting things in the water. Very sad indeed. We stayed in the heatwave in the middle of January 2014 and the pool was practically unusable. The kids and my hubby kept getting bitten by 'who knows what' when they were game enough to enter the green murky pool. For $550 per night in the hottest time of the year, it was dismal. I will never go again. We only went for the pool really, as we knew the days we booked were going to be very very warm. If I'd known the state it was going to be in, I would have gone to the local pools. and saved $1650.00. The host was very helpful via email, shame she didn't warn us that the pool was in such an unusable state. It is a salt water pool, well it was on our last stay, it had been overdosed with chlorine, but couldn't fix how bad it was. :( If you are going to stay, ASK BEFOREHAND about if the pool is in correct condition BEFORE you go ahead with booking. If the answer is yes, then go, because it is worth it. If not, do not go, unless you hate swimming.
