HILLBORNE COTTAGE is a self-contained two bedroom cottage in the beautiful Perth Hills at Sawyers Valley. Hillborne borders on, with safe easy access, to the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail, the KEP Track (walk, cycle., horse ride) and the National Trust Golden Pipeline Heritage Drive (Mundaring Weir to Kalgoorlie) and Alps Reserve.

The cottage is perfectly situated for bush walkers, cyclists, and horse riders with numerous tracks and trails all within a stone's throw of "Hillborne", about 5 mins drive, 15 mins off road cycle ride from Mundaring and 45 minutes from Perth. The Munda Biddi Trail, one of the worlds longest off road cycle trails starts in Mundaring.

The cottage, has very comfortable two bedroom accommodation with a queen bed and a second bedroom with two king singles. It has a fully equipped kitchen, sitting and dining area with TV, DVD player, reverse cycle air-conditioning in the living areas, fans in the bedrooms. A large veranda with BBQ to enjoy the beautiful views over the valley and the spectacular glow of the last rays of the sun disappearing up the gum trees.

All linen and towels provided. Tea, coffee, milk, sugar provided and our own free range eggs when available. PLEASE NOTE : MINIMUM TWO NIGHT STAY.

Peaceful and Relaxed

What a lovely stay! We appreciate the well-appointed kitchen and comfy beds. Fresh eggs, sweet honey, fresh milk, and cold orange juice awaited us. Our dogs had the best time running outside, and we enjoyed the views from the verandah.

Hills holiday

Beautiful view and fantastic location. Kids loved the animals and Melissa was very kind introducing us! I wouldn't take our dog next time as most of the surrounding areas don't allow dogs and that hindered us a bit. But gorgeous relaxing view, delicious eggs and honey and would definitely recommend!

Beautiful outlook and a clean and comfortable home

Melissa’s property is so relaxing and has everything you need for an enjoyable break. We really appreciated the fresh eggs, juice, milk and pod coffee supplied and found all the kitchen supplies to be high quality and clean so we were easily able to cook dinner. Melissa is generous with he time and our kids enjoyed visiting the horses and helping groom them. We hope to be back to stay again in the future.

Relaxing environment

We really enjoyed our stay over Christmas. Very nice personal touches, fresh eggs, raw honey, good quality chocolates, carton of milk and a bottle of quality juice. It was lovely having the horses infront of the property. Melissa offered to have my daughter join her grandkids in feeding them which was very kind.

Beautiful

Such a peaceful setting. Having horses visiting was a highlight. The night sky was amazing, so many stars. And there are little quendas living down by the creek (and rabbits) The house has some binoculars that came in very handy. It was extremely hot during our stay (40) - but the aircon cooled the house and bedroom perfectly. It might struggle if two bedroom doors were open.

A fantastic location!

Hillborne is on the doorstep of a network of trails for those who like to walk, cycle or ride their horse on trails away from the traffic. These same trails can take you to a choice of pubs for a drink and fab meal. The cottage is full of homely touches and is set amongst tidy paddocks grazed by horses. We thoroughly enjoyed a home away from home.

Hills Getaway

A quiet cottage on a picturesque property consisting of assortment of birds and animals. The hosts live thirty metres away but are there for assistance only if needed - lovely couple. Each morning we are greeted by the hosts three horses, which graze in the numerous paddocks in front of us (balcony). A great getaway as we did from Perth metro.

Beautiful and relaxing break

We have stayed here before and loved it so much we came back, but this time just relaxed at the property all weekend, watching the horses and the local wildlife pass by. The cottage is beautiful and very well equipped with absolutely everything you need for a beautiful home from home stay. The hosts are lovely people, friendly and welcoming, and I’d recommend this stay to anyone wanting a relaxing and wholesome stay in the hills..

Friendly and Relaxing

The owners are very kind and wonderful communicators. We were able to bring our very quiet, horse friendly greyhounds along which made our entire stay. They even provided a poop bin! They leave little homely touches in the accommodation, like fresh eggs, milk and juice! Such a thoughtful inclusion in case people forget to pack some essentials. The kitchen is very well provisioned with cooking utensils etc, and there are games, cards and books in the cupboard. The accommodation is close to Mt Helena Tavern which is dog friendly and a nice place to spend an afternoon. The view from the verandah and sounds of the bush are beautiful. The only downside I can think of is that the stairs up to the verandah may be an issue for those with mobility problems.

Just loved it

My friend and I really loved this beautiful spot. Melissa is super friendly and helpful and we really appreciated the fresh eggs, milk and juice that was left for us on arrival. The surroundings are just so lovely and peaceful. There was a little bit of traffic noise from a distant road) a couple of times during the day but it certainly didn’t bother us. In addition, it was very kind of Melissa to include my dog Scooby who had a lovely time too!
