Lovely cottage with everything you need for your stay and nice views from top of garden.Pleasant walk along Hobart Rivulet which we started on cnr of Molle and Collins to Cascade Brewery Restaurant..Would stay again
A quaint, historic cottage, with everything you need. Very close to the town centre, easy walk to most places. There is a garmers market on Bathurst Street on Fridays, not to be missed, great produce and meat etc. Thanks for sharing your lovely place with us Denise.
The cottage was in a great location, easy walk into the centre of the CBD. The photos don't do the place justice, it's a beautiful house with many amenities. The house is spacious with plenty of room for suitcases in the bedrooms without feeling cramped. We had a car and found street parking easy, but we were there over the weekend (when the 2 hour limit is not in place) but there are all day carparks within walking distance.
Lovely house. But dark. Lighting needs improving. Loved being able to cook in most nights. Loved the wine & cheese and welcome message on the fridge. Parking can be an issue. We got lucky. Nice walk to town, but a long hill climb back to the house
A beautiful old cottage situated within walking distance of the CBD, steep incline to walk ,but managable.
Everything, and more, was provided including a nice welcome of wine and cheese. We were very comfortable and had a lovely 3 nights at Bathurst Cottage.
Denise our host was amazing - everything we needed was at the cottage - location was fantastic and close to what we needed - would love to come back and stay again
The owner was very helpful with letting me check-in a little bit early. Great spot close to town, and a very fair price. Charming little house with history.

Beautiful property
Great place to stay, warm and homely, great place to walk everywhere in Hobart. All the comforts of home
Ideally situated, historically interesting cottage, beautiful back garden with great views. Two well separated bedrooms for privacy. Loved the floor heating in the bathroom. Appreciated the welcome pack - wine, cheese etc. and fridge door message; the extra food stores. Very well equipped kitchen; coffee pots, beans, numerous teas etc. Easy to manage the restricted parking hours. Myriad of tourist pamphlets and books available.
We are interested in heritage architecture, so we really loved staying in this charming cottage. With all the quirks of its age it is still clean, cosy and comfortable and has all the necessities (and more) for guests. It is in a great location, not too far from the best heritage sites Hobart has to offer. Many thanks Denise and Greg for the opportunity!
the cutest little cottage only a short walk from Hobarts attractions. It was very clean and welcoming and fully stocked with kitchen appliances, and bathroom and laundry necessities
Ideal position - we could walk to most attractions. Well stocked pantry and the wine and cheese was a lovely surprise! Great little basket of info pamphlets helped us work out what to do. Lovely stay in a delightful little cottage!
The location was amazing, so central to everything we wanted to do. We used this as our base & did lots of travelling from here including day trips to Port Arthur, caves, etc. Lovely treats on arrival 🍷🧀& the floor heating in the bathroom was sublime! Would definitely stay again! 😊
Owners were responsive to problem we experience and fixed immediately. Cosy cottage with comfortable beds and everything you need. Great position. We hired a car so there was no issue with the hilly surrounds.

About the host
Hosted by Denise Booth
Up until 3 years ago I was the practice manager to my husband's rural solo gp practice which is (part time only now) located in our home. Our 3 children, now adults, grew up surrounded by patients coming into our home. Now my husband is semi retired and doing locums around the country, we have the flexibility to visit our 3 children in 3 states of Australia. I enjoy gardening, travelling and in pursuit of fine gins! I don't have a favourite tourist destination but I enjoy returning to Italy and Finland. Hopefully in 2020 we will get to visit Mexico and Cuba.
Why they chose this property
This property offers a snippet of the type of property from the 1830's. Although it has been modernised to make it comfortable, it retains some features which offer a glimpse of what is was originally like. There is a large area to the rear of the property which makes it ideal for sitting and enjoying some respite from the days busy sight seeing.
What makes this property unique
Walking distance to town and the waterfront. Located within a stones throw of some good cafes and watering holes.
